I've written the script below to merge only .txt files that exist in one directory into one huge .txt file and ignore other files with other extensions. now the result is one huge .txt file with all the contents of other .txt files
how can i add the File Name as a comment before each file?

I got the etpro 3.2.6 zip file and extracted it but there are no files at all that can be run in linux inside the folder even though it was supposed to be a linux download. Is there something I am missing and is there an easier way to install 3.2.6?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to run a script called install.sh as follows: I get a jar file, and extract it using the command: unzip filename.jar -D path/to/files then I navigate to that directory where I extracted the files, and run the command: sh install.sh (where install.sh is one of the files that has been extracted in that directory using the above unzip command.) running this command gives me an error:'nstall.sh: command not found.' among other errors in the script ( from that portion of the script that should not even be executed, which is really weird). However, instead of unzipping the jar file, if I just copied the same install.sh file to that folder, and ran the 'sh install.sh' command, the script runs fine.

I have a RAR archive, split into 40 sections, containing a folder with a total of 2GB of data. When I Open the Archive using "File Roller 2.30.1.1" and drag the archived folder to destination folder, it says that its uncompressing, but after its uncompressed, there is nothing there, in the destination folder. Where was the 2GB extracted stuff gone?

I can't delete them nor open them; I am informed that this file does not exist.I am running Kubuntu 11.04. I had a similar problem in Ubuntu 10.04 in that the text was not displayed properly, but the files were readable and writable.

I have read the grub.cfg file and a couple of guides here and I'm still not sure what I'm doing. Is there any chance someone can tell me what I need to add to the grub.cfg file to add this to the boot menu? I am pretty well-versed in computers but I'm new to Linux and I'm still trying to get acquainted with the OS, terminology, and the boot loader. I'm using Ubuntu 9.10, if that matters.

I want to create symlinks for the main files of the CMS, including all config files, functions and admin sections. Then there will be a few files specific to each site.I read some tutorials on creating symlinks, although most are not very good in my opinion.
Do you have to create a symlink for every file I want to include? Or can I just create a symlink to a directory? For example:CMS is located at /www/cms/.Can I make www/domain1/ point to that directory, and if so, will all files include themselves correctly. I think I am a bit confused on how this works.
Is it possible to 'include' a global SSH authorized_keys file?
For example, I have user accounts user1,user2,user3 and my user name is Benjamin. I want to be able to use my ssh key to authenticate as each of these users. I can manually copy my key to each .ssh/authorized_keys file individually, but is there a way to simply include /home/Benjamin/.ssh/global_authorized_keys in each of these user's authorized_keys file without manually adding and removing?

I don't know if its something I am doing wrong or what but everytime I try and install a file this way or by the programs readme file it always goes wrong in someway shape or form. The only way I have installed a program successfully is through kpackagekit and I am desperately trying to learn terminal's language here, the only thing standing in my way from switching from windows to linux entirely is these damn problems.
I vaguely remember that there is a way to store instructions for vim in my file (like tabstop width etc). I'm not speaking of settings in vimrc but of storing those settings with in the file to be edited. That way the tabstop has always the right width even if I transfer this file to another computer. However, I can't remember what the magic word is so that vim picks up those settings when loading the file.

In my make file I use
To include the protoypes from the headers in the folders common and drivers used by source, this works fine. However in common and drivers I use a few variables that are set in the source dir. I set these with externs inside the common and driver files. However I'm sure I should be able to set the directory path for source inside my makefile. So say I have inside source hardware.h with prototypes, I set DINCDIR = -I/Source -I../Drivers -I../CommonFiles
Then from a c file inside my common folder I say #include "hardware.h" the file should be able to see hardware.h and it's protoypes. However I get:

I have used avidemux to cut a mp4 file, choosing just a part of it, and I have discovered it automatically adds "avidemux" to the beginning of the name of the file, plus the author of the file and that I cannot edit the file to erase it. Note that I talk about "right click - properties", and that the file, as seen from home folder dont include the "avidemux" prefix, but if, for instance, I run the file with VLC, "avidemux" will appear, and that is annoying. how to delete that annoying avidemux prefix?

I am sure this information is out there somewhere, but Googling apache access.log and hostname does not give you any good leads... so I hope someone here might be able to provide me with a quick answer...I am setting up a cluster of web servers, so I would like to name the access.log and error.log with the hostname of the individual servers to be able to distinguish one from another.
