I would like to install A Dell All-IN-One Printer 962. On the that soft ware, so i could print some of the instructions,how to infomation to make easier for me to learn to,how to use this OS.
i just made a fresh install of pclinuxos 2010 e-17 setup everything and its working great so i decide to go in synaptic and mark all upgrades and apply about 70% of the way though applying i get an error and try to recover needless to say it crashes and no i cant login i get an error message that says the shared file libembryo.so.0 cannot open no such file or directory
View 1 Replies View Relatedi am having trouble configuring XFdrake with my dell 1905fp moniter,or is there a problem with pclinuxos 2010. it started by about a month ago and it wouldnt boot. after reading on the net i ran fsck and everything ran ok. i have the same problem again. i ran fsck again, but this time it didnt work. i found out about XFdrake and ran it, again same command line screen. it is a configuration error, or is there another problem. is there any way of setting a fail safe or what would be the recomended action to take.if the pclinuxos 2010 has to be re-installed its not really a problem.

Is there a default password for root on pclinuxos? I didn't have an option to set the pw on reboot and it is no longer 'root'. I can't open the synaptic package manager or install wine without it, it seems.

Ever since the cloning, boot hangs. Words in the thread title are the last to appear before everything grinds to a halt. Just before the kernal panic message appears, "Initrd finished" is last line. Will have to try booting again to find more info before this.

The live usb image created with Unetbootin on my Mint 10 of the iso won't boot. All I get a warning no operating system or something. I tried the Mandriva-seed script but it gives an error

Having trouble mounting cd dvd under mandriva 2010.tried bash with su command and then# mount media/cdrom.but got this reply "mount:wromg fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0,missing code page or helper program, or other error. In Mandriva 2009, pressing the "magnifying glass" button on my keyboard took me straight to the Firefox Search bar. Fantastic! Now that I've upgraded to Mandriva 2010, however, pressing the same button just launches the search engine as a new tab (okay, I can live with that), but the cursor is not active in the Search field.
I've been to the Nortek site but there are no drivers for the keyboard, Linux or otherwise. And no Nortek keyboard configurations appear in the Mandriva Linux Control Centre. I know how to use xev to capture keystrokes. What I'd like to know is, how can I map the keyboard button to position a cursor in the Firefox Search bar? I use Search A LOT, so this is really slowing me down. I bet it's something like "firefox %search".

I have to log in as root and type fsck try to fix bad blocks. the mandriva ask me to reboot so i reboot my computer. after loading system, in log in screen. I click my username then type my password and press enter. There is a message prompt on me. "Your home directory is listed as:'/home/Gonzalo' but it does not appear to exist. Do you want to log in with the / (root) directory? it is unlikely anything will work unless you use a failsafe session.

I am trying to change the login screen from "Configure Your Desktop>Advanced>Login Manager".When I go into the login manager, everything is grayed out,you cannot change anything.I have to change it as root but I don't know how to do that.
