I'd like to find a way of
1) capturing an RDF formatted RSS feed as a file on my computer
2) converting the result to HTML using local command line tools
I've sorted 1) with wget? I've discovered xsltproc but I'm going round in circles. The master plan is to import my pinboard bookmarks into a static web site produced on my linux box using a handful of clever bash scripts.
I need a tool or a script or something that will convert mkv files into vob or avi format.

convert: UnableToOpenConfigureFile `delegates.xml' @ configure.c/GetConfigureOptions/589.
convert: NoDecodeDelegateForThisImageFormat `airplane.jpg' @ constitute.c/ReadImage/530.
convert: MissingAnImageFilename `airplane.ppm' @ convert.c/ConvertImageCommand/2838.
This is a bit of a long shot and I think the answer will be no but I thought I'd ask just in case. I have a number of tutorials in html but I want to be able to search for particular information in these files and display that information in the terminal rather than having to go through a browser. Apart from using grep which gives a pretty messy display or having to write a a specially Bash or python script, is there any command line tools that can provide such a function?

I've seen examples to convert audio and know it's possible to convert video (Thoggen does this with gstreamer) but what would the command be to execute this? I assume it will use gst-launch but there are so many following switches that it gets confusing. I'm interested in converting a DVD to OGG (as Thoggen does). I ask this because Thoggen:
1) Doesn't remember my preferences (quality, picture size etc.)
2) Gives me a huge preview window that I do not need (while it is encoding)

I'm looking for a script or a tool I can use from the command line, non-interactively, to add users to our LDAP server.

I only have shell access to the server, and need to monitor outbound network traffic from my web service. Is there a unix command that will allow me to monitor all outbound traffic? I'm thinking fiddler, but a unix version? I've heard of things like ntop and iptraf, but I don't think those will help me in this instance.
