General :: Bcc Copy Is Not Getting Delivered To Email Alias (at Local Server)
Mar 7, 2010
my mail server [URL] is hosted abc@[URL] is a pop id below are alias:
user1@[URL]
user2@[URL]
user3@[URL]
fetchmail is configured to download all mail for alias email id on local linux server and distribute to local users.
fetchmailrc config:
[Code]....
everything works fine except bcc copy is not getting delivered to email alias (at local linux server). It is delivered to local postmaster account :abc@[URL] (in Linux server) I have tried all envelope option in fetchmailrc file, but it did not work.
I installed sendmail in RHEL5.4 with TrendMicro Spam scan engine. The configuration like sendmail should forward all the mails to scan engine after scanning it will deliver it to the mail domains. same way all the mails coming from external servers are scanned and the delivered to local box. My problem is when i sent mail for local users its delivered locally. but when i sending mail for external like yahoo its going through scan engine. I added the smarthost in sendmail.mc file also.
I have an email setup where all of the emails from our email host is downloaded to our Linux server using Fetchmail. Then some of the incoming emails are sent to an MS exchange server (server1.domain.com) using Postfix. What i want to do is to send a copy of all emails to Another server (server2.domain.com) for redundancy. Can postfix be configured to send copies out to both?
I have two servers. One of them has a svn server running and another hosting projects.
I have a daily cronjob updating the projects -- ie running svn update, rebuild etc.
Now, my cronjob on the remote server works. However, a similar cronjob running on the local server for local projects (ie the same server as svn) is instead displaying a "svn: not working copy".
I double checked the paths, permissions and user info and if the script is launched manually, it works fine. Deploying the same thing remotely works.
I even tried using file:/// (suggested here http://www.hightekhosting.com.au/myaccount/knowledgebase/90/Using-SubversionorSVN-on-cPanel-Servers.html) but still nothing.
I have recently set up an ubuntu 10:04 based email server using postfix, clamav and squirrelmail. The setup works like a beast, much better than the old sco based system we were using. Anyway I work for a law firm, and we have use a bespoke case management system to complete work on cases. We have started a paperless office initiative. This means we are asking more and more clients and firms to correspond via email. This is where my troubles are kicking in. The governing body of solicitors in the UK is very picky, and we have to have certain formats and information in documents when sent out to clients, this is the same for emails.
I have a script that will cat the html header information, then cat the body of the email and finally cat the footer html information. The output of which is perfect and usable to the firm. My problem comes sending this file. The end of the script I have the following:
Code: mail -s $SUBJECT $CLIENTS_EMAIL < email.$$$ Pretty self explanatory. But when the email is sent from the mail queue its not delivered in html format but in plain text. Any email sent using outlook from any machine on the network can send and receive html email. How can I make this happen from the command line?
I am having problem to collecting email from remote POP3 (all the emails for a domain is stored here) and distribute it after collecting to several users defined to Linux server. I have install postfix in Linux server for email distribution.
I want allow a local domain (domain.com) to send email ONLY locally, and I don't allow domain.com to send email to remote email (externally) . How to configure exim to do this ?
I'm trying to configure postfix so smart daemon can send out notifications emails. My system will need to send emails to a mail server that is on the same local network. I have not had much luck in getting this to work, and am confused on what I need to setup to do this and how to set it up. Does my system need to be apart of the same domain as the mail server? If so, how do I do this? Is there any restrictions sending emails from the command line as the root user? Do I need to configure a relayhost?
Basically all I need to do is send emails to a local mail server, i.e. a mail server on the same local network. I do not need to receive emails. I am rather clueless as to how to set this all up, and what I need for this basic email functionality. I have read and tried many postfix configuration tutorials, but when I try to send out a test email to a email address on the local network mail server I always get "Connection refused" to the server and deferred or bounced status on my test email.
i have a small issue, to make our network more secure, i now require outgoing email to require authentication. Now the problem..i have a automated mailer that does not have the option to authenticate. is there a way to allow a certain email address or the local network to send out without authentication? If i cannot do this for a single email user to allow them through with authentication, how would i remove the authentication paramaters in the postfix smtp..
In my network I only have one machine that is configured to send email outside the network. How do I instruct my local copy of sendmail to use that server as a relay?
I have a website sitting on my private server (CentOS 5x) running plesk 9.2.2. There is a form for customers to fill out and when they press send it sends the data to a specified email address and a BCC if desired (email address present in BCC Field) and and response to the person submitting the form. The problem I am having is everyone gets their email after the submit button is pressed except the person listed in the TO field. Below is the output from postconf -n and below that is the maillog
1. when a mail is sent to an account; if it has a forwarder set; it should forward a copy of email to the mentioned email address.
2. all the emails sent to a domain alias should be automatically forwarded to the respective email account in the main domain.
eg for 1. xyz@abc.com => hfg@gmail.com eg for 2. xyz@alias.com => xyz@maindomain.com
We have a database that stores the mailboxes as we have our own control panel. I can get only one working at a time. I have the mysql query in the .cf file and mentioned it in the main.cf as 'virtual_alias_maps' but i need both to work not just one at a time.
I have a php script which uses php mail to send us the results from a web form. If I set the email address to receive the form as my yahoo account I receive the email fine, however if I set the email address to receive the form as an address with our domain name we never get the email.
I have searched on google to see if I could find out what was happening and did see some references to issues where if the web server was sending an email 'locally' it didnt check the mx record. Which seems like whats happening - but I am not sure how to tell linux (centos) where the email for a 'local' email should be sent.
I am trying to configure virtual alias using regular expression.
For example :
Email send to user.1@example.com and user.2@example.com will deliver to user mailbox.
Email send to user2.1@example.com and user2.2@example.com will deliver to user2 mailbox.
And the numbers or alphabet in between user name and the domain will be vary , I can't just do a normal alias.
I been try to play around with main.cf and the virtual alias table but still not able to get work. So I am not sure is the main.cf didnt configure correctly or the regular expression is not working.
I am having Sendmail ver 8.13.1 installed on CentOS 4.5. Recently we have noticed that some emails are not getting delivered to user. Mailserver is receiving emails and they are getting processed but not getting delivered to user.
I have checked mail log and in the log it shows that email has been delivered to user below is log for reference
I need to make a alias and I am a little confussed how to do it. As some websites say it has to be in profile and other says it goes in bashrc.on the server I have these files bash_historybash_profilebashrccshrcdtprofileloginmysql_historynewsrcI been trying to do this and think may have problem now as when I log in I get error it says bash_profile syntax error unexpected token 'fi'
I have followed the official instructions here to setup VNC service initially and was able to get it working.
However, during the course of setting up my BIND service, I have done the following: 1) Turned on SELinux 2) Used system-config-security to add the ports TCP:53 and UDP:53
When I tried to save the settings from 2) above, my GNOME desktop delivered via VNC got frozen.
Now when I tried to restart vncserver with "service vncserver restart", I see the following. I am also unable to connect via [url] anymore.
I'm trying to figure out how to access the local part and the domain part of an email address in postfix's main.cf. For example, myname@mydomain.net has myname as the local part and mydomain.net as the domain part.I get the whole email address with %s. I want to speed up the lookups by writing better database queries.I've had no luck finding this in the otherwise well documented postfix.
I am new both here and in Linux. As the subject says, I would like to learn how to copy a directory (not a file) from terminal with progress bar showing. The copy is local, i.e., not to another computer. My distro is CentOS 5.5. I know that if I do it with nautilus I would see the progress, but I want to learn how to do it from the terminal. I know that PV command can show a progress bar, but from what I saw, it works well for files, but not for directories (recursive).
Is it possible to use PV for directories? If yes, could you please show me the syntax? I also saw that some people mentioned that rsync can also show a progress bar, I tried to do it, but it didn't work out - perhaps I got the syntax wrong. If rsync can really be used to copy directories with progress bar, show me the syntax? Any other ideas on how to do it? I would like ideas that do not involve using any script, i.e., just something that I can do using the regular commands.
i am using dolphin 1.5 in kde 4.5.2. whenever i try to access movie file from remote samba server. dolphin copies the movie file to somewhere in local hard disk. so, i have to wait until a big file transferring complete. i know that it happens when i open .avi using mplayer. if i open the same remote file with kmplayer, it will player immediately instead of making local copy first. however, kmplayer is very slow and sounds and video stream breaking up, (i am sorry i do not know right english expression for this) i suppose this is not related to mplayer configuration. this seems to be dolphin problem. can i make dolphin to stop copying samba share to local disk and play instantly? there is a video in videos. it is comparing how dolphin and nautilus act differently when i play remote samba share movies.
Have someone used Linux heartbeat to send email when the Slave server becomes the Master? I've read I can configure the MailTo under.
But I really don't know how to do it. I basically need my primary server to send an email when it becomes inactive and all the activities are manage by the secondary node.
I installed a mailserver on ubuntu and also installed squirrelmail as the webmail. I am able to send emails from the web interface but not able to see emails that are sent to me. I am only able to see the emails in the folder on the machine. It looks like I am missing some configuration.
I am using fedora 10 in two computers. Just for my own practice I sent a file to my second computer.
1st computer IP is 192.168.1.10 2nd computer IP is 192.168.1.20
[Code]....
The file has been successfully copied to the second computer but I again want to copy that file into my local computer by still sitting in my 1st computer.
I'm attempting to send email with a PHP application I got from a textbook. Do I need to start an email server in order to get the application to work?Using SuSE 11.2
