View 10 RepliesI am using Fedora 14 right now and i can't figure out how to put in adobe flash player into the plugin repositories of the browser.
Does anyone know how to get it working so I can view ..... videos and or any other media file? Maybe step by step from the start? I downloaded adobe flash player version 10.2.159.1 all ready. I don't know if I should uninstall it then reinstall... Well enough of my rambling I'll let the veteran users have the final say.
I use slack 13.1 64 bits on my intel i7 machine. That is I can't find a flash-player plugin that works on all browsers. The firefox crashes on open. The release of adobe 64 bits plugin simply doesn't work on any browser. I use slack 13.1 64 plus kde. Anyone knows some that works?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm noticing some sites I go to work flawlessly in version 9, but flicker with version 10.Other sitese work great with version 10, and some sites need version 10, like Fancast and Hulu. Is it possible to have separate browsers, for example Firefox running version 9, and Chromium running 10?

Does anyone know the correct procedure for upgrading Adobe Flash Player. I just installed Linux Mint Debian and noticed that my flash plugin is the old Shockwave Flash.
I've tried downloading the latest Flash Player from adobe. I unzipped it, and moved libflashplayer.so to where I thought the plugin directory was.
My main problem is that I don't know where to look for the plugin file. I tried /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins but as much as I played with the 'libflashplayer.so' file there, I could neither remove the plugin nor upgrade it. I've also tried the /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree directory but once again, I was unable to affect the plugin.
I'm trying to load the flash stuff in webpages, but it says i need the flash plugin.
I download the YUM rpm installer, and use yum localinstall to do it.
Terminal say: /home/wade/Download/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm: does not update installed package.
I have already tried installing it, and it says it worked fine, but I'm still unable to view flash.
I upgraded Opera to version 11.00, and also upgraded on my computer Adobe Flash to version 10.1.102.64 (or 65 if I recall). The Flash update reflects properly in Firefox and Google Chrome, but unfortunately it does not show up properly in Opera. It shows that Opera has 10.0.45.2 as the flash version. Why is this not updating with the Opera and Flash updates?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFlash is causing severe problems on my slackware laptop. It happens pretty much only when I go on ..... and playback starts. Then the whole screen flickers and everything freeze. I have no mouse or keyboard (cursor is frozen) and I need to SSH to the machine to kill the process "plugin-containe" whatever it might be.
SO basically, is there anything to do to prevent such problems?
Today I installed an upgrade through update manager of the Adobe Flash Player Plugin and it breaks the flash in all three of my browsers: Firefox, Opera and Chromium. Had to revert to previous version to get it to work. Ubuntu Version 10.10 i386 Sony Viao Laptop.

When I try to get to gmail or any other site that uses flash, chromium warns me that the version of flash that is shipped with the browser is stale and that I should be using the latest version and pointing to an adobe site.the adobe site gives me 3 options
1) yum
2) RPM
3) tar.gz
4) APT for ubuntu
since I'm on redhat, I can use either yum or RPM.Which one should I use and what is the command to install it so that chromium can use it.

I have tried copying "libflashplayer.so" into the following directory.
/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins
Firefox still does not see the plug-in.
I verified that I did download the 64-bit version of the plug-in from the Adobe site.

For those running the native alpha 64 bit Linux flash plugin from Adobe, I have updated Romeo-Adrian Cioaba's script to download the current update, 10.0.45.2.
automating the use of the Adobe version of Flash for 64 bit Linux systems.
To run:
Download then cd to location where you saved the file (typically ~/Downloads) then:
Code:
chmod 700 native-64bit-flash-installer10.0.45.2.sh
./native-64bit-flash-installer10.0.45.2.sh
