General :: Downloading Adobe Flash Player 10 On Acer Aspire One Limpus Lite
Dec 16, 2010
I have just downloaded Firefox 3.6.13 onto an acer aspire one which has limpus lite. On completion it told me to upgrade my flash player. Went to Adobe and I clicked on the drop down menu and selected .tar.gz (I have no idea what this means at all but it was the same ending as the stuff for firefox). So I've now got the flash player 10 thing in my 'downloads' but I don't know what to do next through the 'run programme window'.
my old firefox is obsolete. I've downloaded 3.6, successfully as far as I can see, but it's just sitting there on the hard drive as a file, it doesn't start up, I just get the same old version 2 which came with the machine and it's dead in the water really.
I have been using my Acer Aspire One Netbook, with Linux Lite v1.0.13.E as loaded on purchase, happily for a year or so. Yesterday, when I clicked on the Browser picture to open up Firefox, nothing happened. I can't find how to access anything which will let me check if the icon has lost a link. I have looked on the File Manager and can see the .mozilla folder but don't know what to look for, nor what to do from here.
I have now managed to add the sub-menu which was linked to here: [URL] as a way to Install apps. I can now use this directory to try and open Firefox Web Browser - I then get the message "Failed to execute default web browser Input/output error.
I'm trying to use iTunes and poker sites on my acer aspire one with linux linpus lite. I've followed previous threads and learned how to add/remove programs and I've downloaded wine. My wine programs show up under 'other' and I have: wine configuration; wine file; wine boot; wine software ininstaller and winhelp (not sure if the last is wine or not) Just can't navigate my way through any of these to find how to actually RUN wine. Also, if you think this is not the best way to fully use poker websites (I'm not happy with the iphone style no download play) or iTunes.
Today my Menu Bar and WiFi icon disappeared from my desktop. How can I get it back as I am no longer able to connect to the internet , seee my battery status or log out ?
I assume the operating system for the Aspire One i have called 'Linpus' made by Linux is designed to be effectively bullet proof (it being a netbook), and as such installing any new programs or modifying anything is a bit more tricky. I didn't realize this, although I am fully behind my choice of Linux over Windows still, I just didn't realize it was a 'lite' version that meant simple tasks were a bit more complex.
That said, would most people suggest changing the OS of this 1gb RAM 8gb HD netbook to a more open version of Linux? If this is even possible or recommended. Not sure what the options are, would love a heads up. But to my main question. I am trying to update drivers on my old Windows DELL Inspiron which I 'nuked' using DBAN (which was loads of fun when I finally got it to work! Loved typing in 'autonuke'!! ) so need to download its wireless driver files i 'nuked' using my Aspire One and Linpus - hopefully directly to the USB Flash drive I have made by Lexar.
However, when I plug in the USB Flash drive to any of the 3 USB ports there is no automatic response. I can't find it using my 'windows knowledge' looking through folders and such, and there is no 'My computer' icon in this Linux Linpus Lite. So where I find my USB Flash drive? Does Linpus support this?
I just installed Adobe Flash Player 10 and it says it's installed, when I go to firefox and Epiphany it still has flash player 9, Ive quited the browsers and everything Ive uninstalled/reinstalled still no luck.
My daughter bought a cnm netbook with linux, i have downloaded adobe flash player so she can play her games, but i cant open it, also i have connected wirelessly but i cant get a website to come up.
I'm using Fedora 13 and have the Adobe Flash Player installed. Some websites I view tell me that I need to install the flash player to view or listen to the content?? How do I get the flash player to work?
I make regular and ostentatious use of Adobe flashplayer.
It tears or shears badly, although is still usable. No tearing is obvious on computer TV like TvTime. 10.0.32.18 is the flashplayer version. Debian Lenny backport .30.
Should vsync be enabled or something? Do not know if it's enabled at the moment. How is this done?
Flash player was working all right. Still works allright but when go to full screen the picture is still, not moving, but the sound keeps on going. It *may* have something to do with upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10.
I have Linux/Linux etch and I cannot seem to download some versions o adobe flash player, when I go to some sites and the require me to download the latest AFP, my computer just stacks it in my downloads and I end up with 10 different versions AFP just sitting in my computer, I thy to open and it says cannot open program etc. also sometimes i go to sites and I cannot type in some comment bars, also some of the links in Yahoo won't work like my address book won't open...i cannot adjust my filters, I click and nothing happens.
My Fedora 10 is completely updated...But still my Firefox browser needs Adobe Flash player plugin to run internet videos...Although i clicked on install missing plugin but it was followed by a message of "failed to install use manual installation" after downloading the YUM package
I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player on my operating system, my vendor is Red Hat. Then, when I click the Dump File of where I archived the adobe flash player, it states "No Packages were given for installation".So Now it does not want to run itself on the kernel, but I also noticed that there is a "Adobe v10 Bug" right next to where the rpm package was archived. Is there something I might have overlooked?
i recently installed (wubi) ubuntu 10.10 on to a new hdd - i had trouble with my microsoft wireless keyboard & mouse - which ended in me replacing them.ubuntu is running ok but i can't install adobe flash player from the videos prompt? i get a message: package "adobe-flashplugin" is virtual - i just don't know what this is. how do i download/install adobe flash player and what version do i choose? i am a complete novice when it comes to command lines?
I am using Fedora 14 right now and i can't figure out how to put in adobe flash player into the plugin repositories of the browser.
Does anyone know how to get it working so I can view ..... videos and or any other media file? Maybe step by step from the start? I downloaded adobe flash player version 10.2.159.1 all ready. I don't know if I should uninstall it then reinstall... Well enough of my rambling I'll let the veteran users have the final say.
Moved to linux as I was assured it was "uncrashable" but I seem to have managed it after only 2 days. Running ubuntu 9.10 and trying to download adobe flash player. I get an error message :- E: The package adobe-flashplugin needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it. E:Internal error opening cache (1). Please report.
Every time I close this window synaptic package manager also closes. When I try to download flash player directly from the adobe web page, synaptic refuses to cooperate. I am now stuck as I can't delete this or download anything else.Computer janitor won,t delete it either. Also when I go applications>ubuntu software centre, everything I try to download comes up with Not available in this critical data.I can see this is going to be a very steep learning curve.
i installed adobe flash player (install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz)on linux open suse 11.1. But it doesn't play vedio etc on you tube,it says that this is old version of flash player. I reinstalled it ,even then it says old version of flash player.
i recently installed ubuntu on my netbook, an acer aspireone. got everything running properly. at first i had a problem with using webcam online for sites using flash 10 (facebook, videos, tinychat), but someone directed me to the adobe control panel and after setting some permissions, everything was working fine. yesterday, i installed a bunch of updates, and since then the built-in microphone stopped working in chat.
the microphone still works if i record audio or use it in other applications. but for all of the sites using flash for video chat (listed above) i can only get the camera working, not the mic. i don't get any error messages or anything different from before. the only difference is that no sound is coming through. i wish i knew which updates i've installed yesterday. one of them must have caused the problem, since it was working fine before then.
Now I am running into problems with some websites; they complain the Adobe Flash Player is old.
It suggested downloading.
I obliged to them and downloaded. Everything worked fine.
However, those website still complains about an old Adobe Flash Player.
I just followed the instructions and installed it. Please read the following:
I am doing an online VMware certification course as a part of my education. I can't do it because of this prroblem. It complains about an old Flash Player.
