View 1 RepliesAfter update of adobe plugin to version 10.1.102.64 (10.1.r102) plugin crashes if I try to switch to full screen. Previous plugin (10.1.53.64) worked perfectly well. Anybody with the same problem? My system is System76 Gazelle, Ubuntu 8.04 with all latest updates, nvidia drivers.
Additional info:
1. Same effect in Google Chrome, which uses its own plugin 10.1.r103
2. Same effect (both in Firefox and Chrome) on Thinkpad T41 with ubuntu 8.04
I downgraded plugin to r53 for now, but it's not a good idea, last update fixed some security issues.
Does the $ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree command always downloads the latest flash player plugin?Does it install for all currently installed browsers? Because it seems like it does.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn my frustration to get adobe flash working in firefox I deleted the /usr/lib/flash-plugin folder. Now when I try to uninstall "Flash-Plugin" from YAST it fails as it can't find the sub-folder. I also cannot install the latest version of flash player as it says that it is already installed - So I am stuck in a loop.
I am running SUSE 11.2.
Is there a config file of installed programs that I can modify to remove the "Flash-Plugin" entry, or is there another way to get over this problem.
I am using openSUSE 11.0. This OS installation gives firefox 3.0.5 Beta. I had installed new version of firefox at /usr/local/bin/firefox. I had placed link of this firefox at /usr/bin using this command ->
Code:
linux-snvz:/usr/bin # ln -s /usr/local/bin/firefox/firefox firefox My older firefox contains the flush plugin. So i can easily played ..... video's in my browser. But now my new browser saying that it doesn't have flash plugin. I was tried to install flash plugin once again.

Even after installation also my browser is again without flash plugin.
I have the same machine and software as Carlsewell (software version: Eee pc 1.1.0.66; Biosversion 0802) and I followed this advice to the letter:
Paste this file into '.mozilla/plugins/' in your home directory - this is a hidden directory, so you'll have to select 'show hidden files' or similar from your file manager. restart firefox.
I am running flash-player plug-in 10.0.32.10 inside of Firefox on a SLED 11 machine.Firefox can print to the network printer without issue from File > Print. However, I cannot get the flash-player plugin to print at all. The print dialog comes up, asks for which printer, and which pages.I click Print and it was as if I had pressed cancel.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Ubuntu 11.04. I'm searching for an automated way of installing the latest version of Flash for Firefox. We are using our machine as a testing server and it would be nice to be assured we always have the latest version of Flash instead of having to manually update it whenever Adobe comes out with an incremental update.

Same with Flash, my default browser is Konqueror. explain everything for dummies. I've also created a non-root user (kasu) and when I try logging in, I get the error message; There's no home directory and it can't be created.
Flash is no longer working in Mozilla Firefox after the most recent flash plugin update. I couldn't find any information on it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've installed chromium on Linux from a custom binary on the net. When I try to get to gmail or any other site that uses flash, chromium warns me that the version of flash that is shipped with the browser is stale and that I should be using the latest version and pointing to an adobe site.the adobe site gives me 3 options
1) yum
2) RPM
3) tar.gz
4) APT for ubuntu
since I'm on redhat, I can use either yum or RPM.Which one should I use and what is the command to install it so that chromium can use it.
I am using Fedora 14 right now and i can't figure out how to put in adobe flash player into the plugin repositories of the browser.
Does anyone know how to get it working so I can view ..... videos and or any other media file? Maybe step by step from the start? I downloaded adobe flash player version 10.2.159.1 all ready. I don't know if I should uninstall it then reinstall... Well enough of my rambling I'll let the veteran users have the final say.
I haven't tried hulu.com on any of my linux systems until yesterday. When I try to play videos on my main installation (slackware64-current) with adobe flash-plugin 10.0.45.2 I get an error saying that this MIGHT be due to limitations with adobe flash for linux 64. The same videos work for a 32 bit slack install with plugin 10.1.
I'm just trying to confirm that hulu.com won't work with 64bit flash for linux or find a starting place for troubelshooting.
I use slack 13.1 64 bits on my intel i7 machine. That is I can't find a flash-player plugin that works on all browsers. The firefox crashes on open. The release of adobe 64 bits plugin simply doesn't work on any browser. I use slack 13.1 64 plus kde. Anyone knows some that works?

View 7 Replies View RelatedIf I go to the website and download the ISO file is it the exact same one that was released in April or will it contain the latest patches (e.g. security fixes, etc) that have been release since then? If it doesn't I suppose I'll have to download the entire ISO file, install the OS, and then have another couple hundred MB to download which is not what I'd prefer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed Chromium via a repo generously maintained by Tom "Spot" Callaway. Since it's his repo I thought I'd contact him, but I don't really know how - so I'm brining my issue to the forum to see if anyone has a possible solution.I've been using Tom's Chromium fine for the past couple months. After a "yum update", Flash no longer works in Chromium. It works in Firefox. If I try to play any Flash videos it's just a blank box.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI dislike Iceweasel as it has older versions, so I installed Firefox 4.0.1 on my new install of Debian Sid. Downloaded the tar.bz2 package, unpacked it in opt, linked /usr/bin/firefox to /opt/firefox/firefox, figured out why it wasn't running (it needed ia32-libs-gtk), got it to run, and now it doesn't see the flash plugin.
My usual technique was to put firefox in opt, close it, then aptitude-install flashplugin-nonfree, which pulled the plugin and made it work with both Iceweasel and Firefox. But right now, only Iceweasel has the flash plugin installed.
I found libflashplayer.so in /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/; usually I'd try copying it in /opt/firefox/plugins, or ~/.mozilla/firefox/plugins, but neither of these directories exist. In fact, I can't seem to find a dedicated plugin directory anywhere firefox-related. What do I do?
Fedora 13-64. Just update the flash-plugin with yum and it says it succeeded:

The Flash plugin is not installed. I'm behind a proxy server - could the download be timing out??
I removed the one I had because of some security alert. But lots of sites don't work with the 32 bit one with the wrapper so I'd like it back.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIt should be easy, but Adobe's page for Linux downloads has a choice of about five different downloads. I tried one and it gave me some files I don't know what to do with. I do already have Flash on my computer, which I got from the Ubuntu software centre, and it works for most things but some things tell me I need a newer version.
