View 4 Repliesafter updating my system I can't start VirtualBox-OSE anymore. I get the error:
VirtualBox: supR3HardenedMainGetTrustedMain: dlopen("/usr/lib/virtualbox/VirtualBox.so",) failed: VBoxVMM.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I try to remove and to re-install VirtualBox-OSE again, still the same error. VirtualBox works as root but not from a user account. The installed version is VirtualBox-OSE.i686 3.2.6-2.fc13 @rpmfusion-free-updates
I am trying to run Ansys on Fedora (64bit), but every time I do it gives me this error. "error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"Please help as I am stuck with this issue for long.

I've just installed F11 (x86_64) on my computer. I've been using x86_64 since Fedora 7 and normally I use a manually installed i386 firefox/thunderbird. This time I've tried to do the same using Fireox 3.5b4 but I got many troubles. The last error I got is:
./firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libdbus-glib-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory but that lib is not available on the standard repository. I've tried to use the i386 version of thunderbird (2.0.0.9) but I got this error: ./thunderbird-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory but on the repository there is just the libstdc++-4.4.0-4.i586 lib.
Running Fedora 12 (32 bit). 2.6.32.14-127.fc12.i686.PAE #1. Trying to open Amarok or digiKam generates the following error:- error while loading shared libraries: libQtWebKit.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
Package exists in /usr/lib. Above 2 are the only applications affected that I've noticed to date. Googling indicates possible problem caused by recent flashplayer upgrade but I'm not sure.

I have an application for loading data into MySQL table using php, through excel-Reader. php is set up on the localhost and the web-page is available from: [url]
The code of xlr2.php:
When I open the page, I get the message to choose a file with the file-dialog box and the notice as:
Notice: Undefined index: action in /var/www/html/xlr/xlr2.php on line 10
Default Action:
Choose a file to Load into MySQL:
Why so? I am selecting file from ("/home/lx/myDocuments/tech/excel/smslist.xls"), but the warning says that [failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/xlr/xlr2.php on line 33]. A different directory than I selected.
You may know the Humble Indie Pack 2, which is a set of crossplatform indie video games. There's one game in the bundle that doesn't offer a 64bit build and therefore it fails to load. It's called Braid and that's what you get when you try to run it: $ ./braid ./braid: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Of course the 64bit libs for OpenGL and the propitiatory nvidia drivers are installed, but the game asks for the 32bit ones, at least to my understanding. I do know that why can install 32bit libraries on a 64 bit linux system (we do that for the sake of crappy Adobe Flash), but I don't know where to find these libs (searching the repo with keywords like .i586 or ia32 led me nowhere).

There is absolutely no reason why it can't be opened. I opened it just fine earlier and now it won't open up for inspection.

I haven't used Fedora or anything except Windows in my entire life. I decided I would wipe my windows machine and try out Fedora 14.
I did a fresh install, rebooted the computer, and inserted a disc containing the following software: Medialink Wireless-N USB 2.0 adapter Model MWN-USB150N. It a wireless USB adapter so that I can connect to the Internet.
I can't get a single file on the disc to open. The disc is fine because it opens on Windows just fine. When I try to load it here I either get: Unexpected Error: Error reading from file. or An error occurred while loading the archive or There is no application installed to run executable files. I can't do any updates I guess until I get connected to the Internet.
I can do it with mousepad. Below is what I get when trying to open with gedit

View 5 Replies View RelatedI suspect this is a Gnome 3 problem and not a Fedora problem, but I have no way to separate the two here. I cannot upload an image from my computer to Weebly or to Google Plus, but strangely enough, I can upload one to Picasa. The sequence of actions goes something like this:
1. Open Weebly editing interface, add a picture element, click on the element to edit/add a picture. It then gives you a choice: from your local computer, from the web, etc.
2. Click on 'from local computer' and my computer opens the Open File Dialog Window.I am guessing that is its name, it is the same window you get when opening a file in any other application, like Gedit or LibreOffice.
3. Navigate to the image I want to upload and double click on it or select 'Open'.
4. Nothing happens.
I am able to upload images from my laptop, running Linux Mint 11 with Gnome 2.
It sounds to me like the Open File Window is not passing on the necessary information to the browser. I have no idea why it works in Picasa and not in Google+ or Weebly.
I don't really expect anyone to have a solution just yet, but I wanted to mention it somewhere, and I didn't see any Gnome.org forums. On the other hand, if someone does have a solution, great.
This is by no means a knock on Gnome 3, it is fine with me and I Iike it a lot more than I thought I would.
I am trying to install matlab R2011a student edition in Fedora 15, 64 bits system. This version of matlab do not support 64 bits linux out of the box, but can be installed by adding -glnx86 as an argumenof the installing script.
However after running the installation script I receive the following error message:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /tmp/mathworks_32316/java/jre/glnx86/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so: libXext.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
It seems to be a problem with libXext.so.6, however, I do have libXext library installed in my computer. The name of the package I have installed is:
X.Org X11 libXext runtime library
libXext-1.2.0-2.fc15 (x86_64)
