I am having problems getting Adobe flash player to load.I went to there site and could only find the Linux download for Ubuntu 10.4 so I tried to load it using update manager to no avail cant seem to get it working in version 11.4, Works fine in version 10.10 . has anyone else had this problem?
I have ubuntu loaded on my Dell as the only operating system. It was working fine. I would just keep it on all the time, so if there was a problem with it booting previously, I wouldn't have known about it. I recently installed long overdue updates, and when I restarted the computer, it wasn't able to boot. I've tried several times, and I always get the same black screen with white text, and a message it gives me. I'll put that message below the dotted line on this post. There was a series of numbers in there, but I'm not posting those just in case it would be a security risk (not sure if it's a code or something).
I have used the command timidity -EFreverb=0 -iA -Os so that I can hear sound when I use tuxguitar. My problem now is that I can no longer hear sound when browsing the internet. My web browser is Firefox. By right clicking my mouse on the websites where I cannot hear sound a dialog box about adobe flash player 9 appears. There have not been any error messages.
I spent 2 hours with Sam on IRC #Ubuntu and went through a very involved investigation of the problem. At the end, still no sound. The sound worked perfectly before the Adobe upgrade. To be clear, now have no sound period, no system sound, no playback sound, no sound online, offline, nada.I am running Ubuntu 10.04, which I don't want to update at this time. I'm running this OS on a desktop PC and have no idea what sound card I have.I recently installed a new ALSA mixer and have checked to be sure nothing is muted. I've read through a ton of posts and so far have found nothing that exactly solves this
I can't have pulseaudio on this machine. Second, Flash played with sound in F13 32bit w/o PA. I have gstreamer plugins and ffmpeg installed but still no sound. Is there any diagnostic output I can refer to to find what libraries are missing if any? Using Firefox. HW is Creative Audigy2 on Gigabyte AMD890 mobo, Phenom II 4 core Sound works everywhere except Flash.
Originally, the embedded flash video played just fine on Ubuntu 9.10 by Adobe Reader 9.0. However, when the same video was replayed on an upgraded Ubuntu 10.10, the video part was fine fine while the audio couldn't be heard. Anyone encountered the same problem? Anyway to fix it?
I'm trying to get HDMI audio to play from my Dell XPX M1330 laptop through a HDMI cable to my Sony Bravia TV. This is a dual booted laptop. Booting into Windows 7 on the same laptop and streaming the desktop through HDMI cable to the TV shows up on the TV just fine, including sound through the TV's speakers.
However, when booting into my Debian laptop, with the HDMI cable already plugged in, I am able to play the videos, but no sound comes out of the TV's speakers. (plugging in the HDMI cable after logging into Gnome hangs up the entire system and I have to cold boot; setting that problem aside for now).
Since Windows 7 can figure this out, I consider this just something I don't have configured properly.
What do I need to do in order to enable sound to be piped through HDMI to the TV's speakers?
System details are shown below:
Pavucontrol Configuration tab dropdown indicating it is not sensing, or doesn't know about, the HDMI hardware:
cat /etc/debian_version shows 7.8
Output of aplay -l is:
Code: Select allcensored@thedell:~$ aplay -l **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

I recently installed ubuntu 10.10 with no problemds and everythin was working up till the point I installed Adobe flash player, firstly mozilla installed a plugin which gave patchy coverage and then I was confused as to which full version to download and after trying them all none worked. What is the best version to download?
My daughter bought a cnm netbook with linux, i have downloaded adobe flash player so she can play her games, but i cant open it, also i have connected wirelessly but i cant get a website to come up.

I just installed Fedora 14 and I need to install adobe flash. I found a few thread explaining how to, but when I type: [jlb@xxx ~]$ sudo rpm -ivh [URL]
It tells me that I am not in the sudoers file. This is the message I got: jlb is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.
What is this error mean? When I installed fedora yesterday, I was prompted to setup a root user password, which I did. I also need to install schockwave player and it is the same.
I am new to linux how can I install itunes to linux. I was advised to get rid of windows vista from my sony vaio and install fedora, however, I am new to this and I am installing itunes, adobe flash, and so on!

I make regular and ostentatious use of Adobe flashplayer.
It tears or shears badly, although is still usable. No tearing is obvious on computer TV like TvTime. 10.0.32.18 is the flashplayer version. Debian Lenny backport .30.
Should vsync be enabled or something? Do not know if it's enabled at the moment. How is this done?
Flash player was working all right. Still works allright but when go to full screen the picture is still, not moving, but the sound keeps on going. It *may* have something to do with upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10.
I have Linux/Linux etch and I cannot seem to download some versions o adobe flash player, when I go to some sites and the require me to download the latest AFP, my computer just stacks it in my downloads and I end up with 10 different versions AFP just sitting in my computer, I thy to open and it says cannot open program etc. also sometimes i go to sites and I cannot type in some comment bars, also some of the links in Yahoo won't work like my address book won't open...i cannot adjust my filters, I click and nothing happens.

I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player on my operating system, my vendor is Red Hat. Then, when I click the Dump File of where I archived the adobe flash player, it states "No Packages were given for installation".So Now it does not want to run itself on the kernel, but I also noticed that there is a "Adobe v10 Bug" right next to where the rpm package was archived. Is there something I might have overlooked?
When I try to download the recent adobe flash 10.1 for my linux drive, I get the following error dialog box:
cannot get lock cannot get the exclusive lock on the packaging backend. Please close any other legacy packaging tools that my be open.
Yum is locked by another application. The other process has the command line '/usr/bin/python /usr/share/yumex/yum_childtask.pyc 2 True False' (PID 2053)
I'm at a lost right now, I tried researching to find a possible reason, but I'm coming up short. I have a dual boot laptop with both fedora core 12 and windows7. Could there be a conflict between the two drives? I have the YUM extender on my linux drive performing the updates for me. I tried doing a YUM update via the terminal viewer, but I still get the same message.Any ideas as to why I'm getting this message, or how to fix this problem?
