Fedora :: Glib Package Building Stops - Missing GTK2 Dependency
May 11, 2011
I'm trying to work with the pcsx2 dev to compile on fedora 86_64. [URL]. Unfortunately I seem to be missing a gtk2 / glib package as building stops with:
Scanning dependencies of target CDVDiso 47% Building CXX object plugins/CDVDiso/src/CMakeFiles/CDVDiso.dir/CDVDisop.cpp.o In file included from /home/mythtv/pcsx2-read-only/plugins/CDVDiso/src/CDVDisop.cpp:11:0: /home/mythtv/pcsx2-read-only/plugins/CDVDiso/src/Linux/Config.h:32:21: fatal error: gtk/gtk.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated. make2?: plugins/CDVDiso/src/CMakeFiles/CDVDiso.dir/CDVDisop.cpp.o? Error 1 make1?: plugins/CDVDiso/src/CMakeFiles/CDVDiso.dir/all? Error 2 make: all? Error 2
I have gtk2-devel.i686, glib-devel.i686 and all the other dependencies afaik - How do I get yum to tell me which gtk* packages are installed for instance...?
installing on linux i try to install VLC and get [user@localhost ~]$ sudo yum install vlc Setting up Install Process Parsing package install arguments Resolving Dependencies
--> Running transaction check ---> Package vlc.i386 0:0.8.7-0.8.fc8 set to be updated --> Processing Dependency: vlc-core = 0.8.7-0.8.fc8 for package: vlc [Code]...
I am working with Ubuntu 10.04 I can't print documents on HP Laserjet 1020 While printing, the jobs shows up in the print queue and disappears without any error, but no printout I tried to install HPLIP 3.10.6 from [URL]I followed the instructions but it ends with the error
Code:

i installed kernel 2.6.34 to fix my lid closing issue, and that went great. but now when i go to reinstall my broadcom i get this error. Code: Reading package lists... I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right section. But when i start the Package Updater it get's a (Error resolving dependencies). The Details in the error are: Missing Dependency: liblzo.so.1 is needed by package mplayer Missing Dependency: libdvdread.so.3 is needed by package lsdvd Missing Dependency: libcucul.so.0 is needed by package mplayer Missing Dependency: libdvdread.so.3 is needed by package gstreamer-plugins-ugly
What do i do? I'm thinking i have to get and install/download these package's but cant find them tried regular searching the web and using Yum. Cant find any of them to install to fix this issue.
I don't know if this is the right place to do this so I will try. I have noticed a lot of posts around the web with the same problems, so I guess this is something that is common, you think it would be fixed by now but anyways. Almost constantly when I try to install a new package with yum in my system it almost always gives me a dependency error, this is the latest one when I try to install HTOP:
Error: Missing Dependency: rtld(GNU_HASH) is needed by package htop Error: Missing Dependency: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.4) is needed by package htop
I'm trying to install Dell Openmanage, which requires sblim-sfcb.Normally this wouldn't be a problem but it requires LWP::UserAgent to be installed. However there are no RPMs for LWP::UserAgent. There are RPMs for perl-libwww-perl-5.805-1.1.1.noarch.rpm, which people say should work. However yum doesn't see anything with libwww as an option so that won't work either.Running CentOS 5.5
Note: I do have LWP::UserAgent installed via cpan, however the RPM won't compile without the actual LWP::UserAgent RPM installed.
Today I got update notification. I type in terminal yum update, and get this error: Quote: Error: Missing Dependency: libnetfilter_conntrack.so.1()(64bit) is needed by package iptstate-2.2.1-5.fc11.x86_64 (installed) You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem You could try running: package-cleanup --problems package-cleanup --dupes rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
I removed iptstate.x86_64, again run yum update, and than, ibnetfilter_conntrack got installed. I tried to install iptstate.x86_64 again, but i get Quote:
While i am using yum update am getting an error: Error: Missing Dependency: libgpod.so.0()(64bit) is needed by package rhythmbox-0.11.6-4.el5.x86_64 (installed).
I'm trying to cross-compile glib-2.24.0 for Linux running on a Freescale PPC CPU and running into one problem after another. My host is running Fedora 13, and there I can compile the same source for the host machine with no problems. For the cross compilation, I'm currently using LTIB (provided already configured from Freescale for my board/CPU).
I am using Fedora 12, and I recently downloaded the source of Empathy from the git repo. When I issue a ./configure on the console, I get the following output, please look at the last line:

I just recently updated my firefox and now I cannot find it anywhere. I have tried yum reinstall firefox and I get the following:

I have just upgraded from F9 to F11. There are a lot of problems I appear to be having with dependencies.

I get this missing dependency: Error: Missing Dependency: python(abi) = 2.3 I've tried to find this, but can find only references to it in past versions of Fedora (<9). I'm running F11.
I (or rather, the Yum auto-update) try to update the TeXLive on my FC11 machine but the update fails due to 'missing dependency', spitting out
Missing Dependency: libpoppler.so.4()(64bit) is needed by package texlive-2007-46.fc11.x86_64 (updates)
And strangely now (perhaps for a combination of reasons) I cannot use my auctex. I would like to finish this update anyway, and tried to find libpoppler.so.4 separately, which I haven't yet been able to locate. Poppler itself is installed and updated, and I do see libpoppler.so.5 in my system. So where would I find libpoppler.so.4 on its own? Or should I perhaps downgrade poppler?
When I try yum update, I get the following error: abrt-1.0.8-2.fc12.i686 from updates has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: librpm.so.0 is needed by package abrt-1.0.8-2.fc12.i686 (updates) abrt-1.0.8-2.fc12.i686 from updates has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: librpmio.so.0 is needed by package abrt-1.0.8-2.fc12.i686 (updates) abrt-1.0.8-2.fc12.i686 from updates has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: librpmio.so.0 is needed by package abrt-1.0.8-2.fc12.i686 (updates) anaconda-14.2-1.fc14.i686 from rawhide has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: fcoe-utils >= 1.0.12-2.20100323git is needed by package anaconda-14.2-1.fc14.i686 (rawhide) abrt-1.0.8-2.fc12.i686 from updates has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: librpm.so.0 is needed by package abrt-1.0.8-2.fc12.i686 (updates) Error: Missing Dependency: librpmio.so.0 is needed by package abrt-1.0.8-2.fc12.i686 (updates) Error: Missing Dependency: fcoe-utils >= 1.0.12-2.20100323git is needed by package anaconda-14.2-1.fc14.i686 (rawhide) Error: Missing Dependency: librpm.so.0 is needed by package abrt-1.0.8-2.fc12.i686 (updates) You could try using --skip-broken to work around the--

downgrade also does not work. I just updated F12 to F13 using DVD and this occured. Also prevents me from doing "full" yum system update, these packages always fail. I do not understand the problem, it says that perl-libs 5.10.1-112 requires perl-libs 5.10.1-112, but I have that installed.
I'm trying to install Alsa Player in my CentOS 5.2 using add/remove software. I get the following error:

When I try to search the depencies using yum (yum search libsndfile), the result is : No Matches found.
I got the following errors in spite of having both the packages installed. What can be done?

I've tried to upgrade from Fedora 11 to 12 in a workstation by following the related steps in the documentation. However; in the step 'yum upgrade' I'm getting the following problem:

I've tried to find the packages libcrypto.so.8 without success.
i have fedora12 and have been noticing that on a few programs (xvidcap, nALFS; just to name a couple) anyways these programs when i go to install they will come up with a missing dependency error and so i'll go hunt them down and install them and i am told that they are already installed...so what is the deal...any ideas. should i just go for a reinstall of the whole system?
When trying to get wine I do got this error. Missing Dependency: kernel >= 2.6.29.1-52.fc11 is needed by package libdrm-2.4.11-2.fc11.i586 (updates) As I understand I must update my kernel before I can move on. How do I do that? I would want a RPM package if that's available.
I was trying to install vlc in fedora 12 and got the following error. I've built a custom livecd. On my cd files like /lib*/dbus-1/dbus-daemon-launch-helper are owned by bin not root and the rws is rwx on the owner permission.
I'm still fighting to migrate my Evolution email from F13 to F15. My unsuccessful attempt at data conversion (from Ver 2.32/mbox to Ver 3.2/maildir) is documented here: [URL] As a last resort I decided to try installing evolution 2.32.2-1 in F15. The process went fairly smoothly once I figured out that evolution-data-server-2.32.2-1 must be installed first. Installing the data server package first eliminated all but 1 dependency problem in the main package installation. That 1 remaining dependency is where I?m stuck.
When I try to update my system, I get the message: Error: Missing Dependency: xine-lib(plugin-abi)(x86-32) = 1.25 is needed by package xine-lib-extras-freeworld-1.1.16.2-3.fc10.i386 (installed) after a list of packages which are set to be updated.
