View 3 RepliesI have no sound after upgrading to 11.04. Sound control panel and test speakers emits no sound. The new music player won't play sounds from music CDs either.

I wanted to ask which music player I should use to play *.m4a files. And I can't find skype for openSUSE anywhere, all the downloads are faulty or can't be installed anyway.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that when I import my music folder, it never had all the albums I have. So, when I looked, I noticed that all the songs that were not imported had the wma file extension. MP3 is fine, I did have problems with that last time.
I have a lot of good songs encoded with wma. So, how do I get Rhythmbox to play these wma sound files? I have done some searching, but it does not seem to work. I have tried using gstreamer-0.10-plugins-ugly and multiverse. I even did a restart, which was not really necessary as it has nothing to do with hardware.
i don't have much space on my individual computers, so i have to keep my music files on my laptop with most of everything else on my PC. i want to have rhythmbox play music from my networked laptop, but i have a few issues.
for one, my laptop doesn't show up in Places --> Network
two, even if it did. i'm not exactly sure how i could get rhythmbox to do that. would i have to use SSH? connect everytime?
I can't seek music cause i can't find that little circular on music track bar. I update fedora but there was not any good news for rythmbox
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've searched upon numerous links for a "fix" but they are either for older releases of fedora, or, I was able to make appropriate changes to the F12 KDE4 release such as the F11 how to fix pulseaudio and vlc guide in this forum
Problem: In order to get the sound to play on my system I have to go to PulseAudio Device Chooser and select default server, sink, etc. every login. I thought it was suppose to change it "permanently" , getting more specific here, when ever I play music in vlc I tend notice gaps/skips in my music very short skips .5 to 1 second sometimes 2 - 3, just now I was playing music flipping through some tracks then I am greeted with a nasty sound I cannot describe. Does anyone have a proper fix for this? Only result I came upon I have not tried yet was something with hda intel sound card and power settings, which feel will not work anyway
Here is my sound card: Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) Also not to mention, I use to get pop-ups notifying me of pulseaudio device not being to be found and asked to forget this device
how i can play a music with Canberra-gtk-play?because i had writedanberra-gtk-play -f musicfile but it does not play a music or maybe no sound is outed.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to configure mpd (music player daemon) to access my music files that are stored on a windows server (NAS).
In the mpd configuration file I have to point to the directory in which the music is.
How do I do that? Is it something to do with mount?
I tried to remove it, but don't have permission. F12, Can't play music?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a new Fedora user and I've been downloading some software from the repositories. BUT, I found a problem: I can't play ANY media with ANY player; however, I can hear system sounds but music. I've tried several media players (Exaile, Amarok, Audacius) but none of them can play a song. The format of all my music library is MP3. In the pre-installed Rhytmbox and Totem it says something about codecs and searches for them, but finds none.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had an awkward problem lately: every music player I use wants to instead of play music from my USB external hard drive, stream music from it. I have no idea why it suddenly started doing that. It may have been an accidental key-combo I pressed, thinking I had another window targeted and didn't bother pressing it again for my Totem music player. So I closed out of Totem in hopes that Rythmbox would work like totem used to. Well, it doesn't. It wants to stream music now.The problem with the streaming music is trivial, but here it is: I have a playlist with a little over 300 songs. I have Totem set to shuffle and repeat my music. Streaming music with it makes it just stop randomly after a few songs, and when I try to pause music and play it later it takes a good 30 seconds before it kicks back in at the beginning of the song.Like I always ask because I don't know enough to give back to the community yet, can anyone help me? Thanks.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get rythmbox to play my music. I used the yum install from the thread [URL].. It installed the gstreamer, however when I attempt to play music it doesn't unfortunately. Any comments on something simple I am missing or is there some other yum syntax I can use that can take care of this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using Fedora 14 with wine installed and using that to run Spotify but I'm getting the error message-
'There is a problem with the sound decoder. Spotify can't play music'
I have done a search and installed the alsa bit of wine and changed the settings but I still get the above message.
My questions are- what does this mean and do I need to install something else. I have all the codes for mp3 etc.
I have a server (running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) that has mt-daapd sharing all my music. I just recently changed all my desktops over to Fedora 15 from Mint 11 & came up with something I wasn't sure how to fix. When the desktops had Mint 11 on them if you opened Rhythmbox the mt-daapd share showed up on the left without me having to do anything (under Shared Music). Now that I have switched over to Fedora, I don't see that heading or my mt-daapd shares.I have tried Rhythmbox & Banshee. I can connect to it & play music, but I would like for it to just show up & I can't for the life of me figure this out.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I try to play music on amarok it just won't play, it just loads lyrics and then, nothing. on rytmbox everthing works fine but amarok don't work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFirst of all, this is not a rhythmbox issue, but a pulseaudio one. Everytime I click on next song (in rhythmbox or amarok), the master volume drops about 25 percent. Once the volume goes to 0, the volume cannot be modified without going into sound preferences and unmuting the volume for the application. This is *very* annoying. Basically, it means that everytime I click on next song, I need to follow that with 2 or 3 hits of up volume.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try playing media off of my iphone when I plug it in to rhythmbox, it says:
Music Player requires a additional plugin to decode this file
The following plugin is required:
MPEG-4 AAC decoder
Do you want to search for this now?
When I click Search, it says:
Failed to search for plugin
Could not find plugin in any configured software source
When I try to start playing the file, it gives me:
Couldn't start playback
Problem occurred without error being set. This is a bug in Rhythmbox or GStreamer.
