OpenSUSE :: KDM Login Settings Grayed Out. Can't Change KDM Theme?

Jul 5, 2009

I'm on openSUSE 11.1 KDE 4.3 RC, and I'm using the kde-branding-openSUSE with KDM from the factory KDE repo, and factory community repo - everything is up-to-date.For some reason my KDM login settings screen is ALL grayed out, so I can't change the theme/settings. I know that you can change it by going to yast and editing the /etc/sysconfig thinghich I actually tried doing, and failing, which is odd because I changed it once a ltime ago to glassified, but can't manage to do now...) I don't want to use a theme, though, but actually use my current wallpaper and set the settings in the login manager to something of my preference.

Ubuntu :: Lucid - Not Logging In According To The Login Screen Settings?

Jun 30, 2010

I want my Ubuntu 10.04 to login to an Xterm session every time, so I changed it to auto login to Xterm in the login screen settings. This worked fine until I went to do something in a gnome session again, and now even though it is still selected as logging into Xterm automatically, it logs into a Gnome session. Can anyone help me with fixing this?

Ubuntu :: When Open The Login Screen Settings - Greyed Out

Oct 14, 2010

I'm the only one using this pc, so I want to enable automatic login. When I open the "login screen settings" though, it's greyed out (inactive) and the "unlock" doesn't do anything.

I also have something about "keyring" asking my password each time just after login, which isn't pleasant.

Ubuntu :: Dim Screen - Cannot Change Brightness Settings On Netbook

Nov 18, 2010

I bought a Asus eeepc a few days ago which I really like, with the exception of one thing - windows 7 starter. I like Windows 7, but starter is just bad. I also really like ubuntu, so I've decided to put it on my netbook. I download the netbook edition from the site, put it on a usb drive, and than tested it out - well, my screen is dim, very dim. Changing the brightness setting on the tool bar up top doesn't change anything, and using the function keys does change it, but still keeps it very dim.

I've tried restarting my computer, same thing, I've tried messing around with settings in the battery options, nothing... I really don't want to install it if its going to be this dark, I can see things, but its not very pleasant to use. I'm starting to consider that its the problem with the file I downloaded. Theres nothing wrong with my netbook, everything worked perfectly fine in Windows 7. I use the full version of ubuntu 10.04 on my other laptop which works perfectly fine, I'm not sure why this version is acting so weird on my netbook.

Fedora :: How To Change The Login Screen In 15

Jun 28, 2011

I've tried to change the log-in screen on Fedora 15 (gnome3) to have a custom background, however none of the guides I've found have worked - I'm now left with a blue background with no image. They all follow the same instructions as this guide. (I did change the address and PID to my own ones, although the PID was always increasing everytime I typed it) If I type this into the terminal logged in as my user I just get my desktop background changing, although I'm assuming this is correct.

After upgrading to 9.10 I can't change my login screen, only edit the auto-login preferences. I have one I'd like to use already, and am unable to figure out how to replace the new login screen with the one I've downloaded. It used to be simpler in 8.10 which is what I used, there was a menu for it under System and Preferences.

Debian :: Change Settings For Games In Jessie

Jan 15, 2016

I am currently running Jessie (Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie))

On occasion I like to play Tetravex, Sudoku, etc. I also like to play it at different levels of difficulty and complexity. It used to be very easy to change these levels, but now it appears to be impossible because Jessie offers me the possibility to close the game, move it to another workspace or minimize/maximize/resize/etc it.

But change the level of difficulty?

Nope, not a chance. That option, my dear fellow, is no longer available.

Why? Who decided to change the user interface to such an extent that simple and basic operations are no longer available? Did a MS or Mac mole infiltrate the Debian project team?
