I am having trouble with the new Facebook layout and uploading photos. I tried everything in this post - [URL] and I now have a folder in /home/user/.mozilla/ called plugins with file libnpfbook_1_0_1.so present. I rebooted firefox and Facebook still prompts me to install the new plugin. I rebooted the system and same result.

Today I tried to upload some pictures on Facebook (like I use to) and after choosing them it gets stuck, the browser works, but the pictures don't get uploaded. I tried different browsers and the results were the same. My java package seems to be up-to-date as well as my browser (Chrome). I don't really know what is going wrong.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having serious problems uploading pictures and videos to Flickr and Facebook (only two sites I'm using, and I'm on Firefox) I've never had any problems uploading anything prior to installing Ubuntu. I already tried the FireUploader as well, but no matter what I try the uploads just run and run until they eventually time out. Is there any trick I can maybe use here to be able to upload some pictures again, finally?!
View 2 Replies View RelatedBecause of facebooks new photo uploading java thing that wont install I am looking into other alternatives for uploading pictures to facebook from my UNR 9.10 netbook. I've found that F-spot can do this but.. When I log into facebook through f-spot, it starts to log in... than just freezes while its loading and the loading bar says:
Session established, fetching friend details...
Does anyone know if you can actually upload to facebook with f-spot? Or why f-spot freezes at this point?
Here's a screenshot of where it stops loading at.. I leave it for like 10-15 minutes and still nothing happens.
Does anybody have an idea why I can't upload photos to Facebook?Always when I try to do it, both in Firefox and in Opera the message "The connection has been reset" appears... What could be the reason? Could it also be a problem with my router or provider? Because I presume the problem exists, since I have moved flat.

I have flash player installed, but when i hit the button to create an album in facebook, it tells me i need to install flash. I use opera, but the problem also exists when i try firefox. However, i'm running ubuntu on my netbook, also with opera, and here it works just fine.

I have installed Pidgin and the Facebook Plugin. However is there a bug with it? Because when I try to connect it says it can't retrieve my buddy list. On Fedora 12 this works with Pidgin problems. Is this a bug and is there a work around?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have installed opensuse 11.3 a couple of weeks ago in 2 computers and both suffer of the same problem.In my asus laptop, i have a german keyboard. It is correctly recogniced as german keyboard by ev-dev, i guess. (ev-dev managed). But i need to write some spanisch symbols too, like accents (á © í ³ ? ñ¬ ·hich in a normal linux, they do work. For some reason, after rebooting, or after some time of having it running, the keyboard layout resets to an invalid setup, here accents get not over the letter (?a ?e ?i ?o ?u), so i have to select my layout again in the gnome control center.
With my other computermore or less the same.Its a desktop PC with an spanisch keyboard. But i thinck i picked German keyboard during installation and now it starts always with german with some sort of 5 secs delay when setting it. I have to pick spanisch and i always delete the german layout, but after some time having it running, it resets to the previusly deleted german layout.

I see that it changes Alt_R to "Iso_L..." for all/both layouts, including USA layout. When I click "Reset to Defaults" it's fine again, USA layout shows Alt_R again. I am a conlanger(I create languages), and I need to be able to map certain unicode characters to certain keys. I could do this via creating a font, however, It would be easier if I could just switch between layouts which is easier than switching between fonts. Especially, when I am using more than one program at once. I'm sorry because I have never used the Ubuntu forums before and I probably posted this in the wrong forum.

If I boot from the Ubuntu CD and try to install it, the wizard is freezed at the keyboard layout selection. I'm able to select my keyboard, but after I press Forward, the button is greyed out and nothing happens.
If I press cancel, I load the Live CD and retry the installation from there, selecting the shortcut "Install Ubuntu 10,04 LTS" from the desktop. Everything goes fine until the keyboard layout selection. Just in case, my keyboard is a USB Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 and it works perfectly fine in Windows 7 and in the Live CD.

How can I prevent this annoying and intrusive behaviour ? Deleting the USA layout is not enough, it seems. It just restores it again.

Before some intelligent person says, I should never update but do a new install: a new install isn't better, then I have other problems to tackle. And I really would like updates to work.Well, I have the following problems and I hope you don't mind me listing them all in one post *it's difficult for me to type on this keyboard layout):1. home isn't found or set up. I have modified fstab to mount /dev/sda6, which is home, but it won't mount it at startup, and also not when it's just using the disk/by-id line that had been put in.
2. the keyboard layout is american, while the system language is set to German (I'm German and would like also my keyboard to know that). I had no chance to change that, even a loadkeys de-latin1 doesn't help3. OpenOffice drives me crazy. It just doesn't start properly, or at all. I have a keyboard layout built in Korean language, and when i installed openSUSE 11.3 by network installation i keep keyboard layout to Korean. But after installation can't write Korean but still see Korean font in Firefox, cuz i added its font on firefox configuration settings. What shall i do? I want installed in English but still need to use Korean fonts to write something.

I',m having trouble running the zotero openoffice integration plugin in F13 under the openjdk plugin.It's known top be not working as per The problem lies in some permissions as reported here -fedora-linux/However i want to know if there's any progress on it, since i dont have privilege to install it in my lab computer. A question from a true beginner - I want to watch clips but in order to do that i need WMP plugin - a popup with 3 additional plugins appeared, I chose 1 of them not knowing which is the right one... no success. I hoped to see the other 2 on next boot up but to no avail.
