Ubuntu :: Installing Dspace-mvn Package - Can't Proceed To Download

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop Edition to install DSpace on my desktop. I had install all the JDK,MAVEN,ANT and Postgresql. After i install these prequisites, I start to install DSpace(dspace-1.6.1-release). When i reach mvn pacakge, it will start to download packages. After a few minutes, it will stop on here [as shown below]:
Downloading: [URL] [INFO] Unable to find resource 'org.apache.maven.doxia:doxia-module-xdoc:jar:1.0-alpha-11' in repository java.net [URL] Downloading: [URL]
why it will only stop on this step and can't proceed to download other package? What should I do so that the mvn package can download all the packages that it want?

I have done a new install of Fedora 14 but the RTL8191 wirless card is not being recognised. Realtek have provided the driver source but the make operation is failing because (I think) Fedora 14 isn't provided with the kernel source to enable it to complete successfully.
Basically (in easy to understand steps): how do I download correctly the Kernel source to enable the driver make operation to proceed?

I am new to Fedora (I have always used ubuntu in the past), and I am trying to download eclipse. Unfortunately, "sudo yum install eclipse" is returning "no package eclipse available". Sometimes i have on some magazines or Internet Zip packages that are the answer of what i am looking for.
Wich tool and how can i do it? c Well, i am in position to say that i had downloaded from Internet or located the package in the Cd or DVD that comes with the magazine.
But now comes the big question. How can i put this package ( install) on my distro ???
Do i have to be a normal user or should it be root or su (superuser) ?
The packages that come with the distro is easy, because i select them and everything is done
As i told before, maybe this is a silly question, but i simple don't know how to install them and i need some of them to leave MS for good.

I'd like to download a deb package which will otherwise not install on my Ubuntu 9.04, because of an "E: Broken packages" error (problem is some mix up of versions on PPAs) So, then I'd just like to download it, and so I issue:

which is the same message I get when I try to install... But why??? I am not trying to install in this case, I'm just trying to download? how do I persuade apt-get to just download that package, and not install it?

I was installing some program from Ubuntu software center, and suddelny downloading have stopped and does not go further, I tried to exit from that Ubuntu Software Center but I could not... I restart the computer, then I tried to install another program from USC, but it gave me an error with instruction to run sudo pdkg --configer -a or something like that.,, I did it and try again to install from USC and still can not be able to install or download any program any more. ...

I don't know whats happening. the second i open either the update manager, add or remove programs, or the package manager tehy close instantaneously and when i click the button for updates on the top bar of my computer it shows a picture of a minus sign in a red circle. hwo can i fix this. i have ubuntu 9.04 and im trying to upgrade it and get new programs but it wont let me. ive tried the sudo get updates etc etc

When attempting to install ubuntu server, I get to the step Installing the Base System (right after writing LVM to disks) and it displays red and says "file:///cdrom/pool/main/libs/libsigc++-2.0-0c2a_2.0.182_i386.deb was corrupt," and next another box appears which displays, "Warning: could not download package libsigc++-2.0-0C2a." I have no idea what either of these mean, but afterwards the installation stops completely. I have attempted several times and on different hard drives.

When I open Update Manager and click "check," it starts downloading package information and then the following pops up: Could not download all repository indexes.
The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and ensure the repository address in the preferences is correct.

Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
I opened Software Sources to try and remove the repositories, but couldn't find them. Plus I'm not sure if I need to manually replace these repositories with newer ones- I'm still relatively new at using Ubuntu (made the full switch from windows in October 2009). Plus, whenever I do install updates with the update manager, the "last updated" time doesn't reset itself. It finishes installing the selected packages, and the message at the top of the Update Manager window reads "Your system is up-to-date. The package information was last updated 28 days ago.

I just recently installed Ubuntu on my laptop and was attempting to install Wine on it this morning. I went through the proper procedure listed on the site, but once I get back to the Software Center and hit "install" it gives me an error a second later saying "Failed to Download Package Files. I am running Debian Lenny on a Dell Vostro 1500. I have gotten the correct network card drivers up and running however I need to get a network manager working so I can configure my wireless card to use my network. I have downloaded the wicd deb package but how do I install it? Do I use apt-get install and if so how do I get it to see the downloaded file?
