I have a problem when I browse folders and want something to send to my nokia 6300 over bluetooth. In past I just right click and choose "send to..." >> "bluetooth" and choose device from list. Few weeks ago it stopped working - I click "send to" and nothing will happen, menu will not show. My ubuntu version is 10.04 (lucid)

I can't move it. Right-click menu on a rectangle coincides with a right-click on desktop. It does not prevent, but very annoying.
I'm brand new to Linux and Ubunto 10.04.On the menu bar at the top of my desktop I seem to have attracted some kind of bug!The Log Out Symbol repeats itself across almost the entire menu bar and I cannot remove it. If I remove other buttons from the menu the space is immediately replaced by more Log Out Buttons.When I hover on the icon I get the message 'Log out of this session to log in as a different user' and when I right-cllick to click on 'Remove from Panel' or 'Move' nothing happens.It is not possible to right-click on another part of the menu bar to change the Menu Properties.

Problem is that I cant click on dropbox, caffeine, battery indicator, wlan or sound indicator until I first click on messages menu and slide over to appindicator that I need. When screenlets appindicator is not present there is no problem. Its the same when I had Jupiter installed.

Still learning linux , and as a reminder from interesting pages I always print pdf, but that is a bit long and sensitive navigation throughout screen to the File/Print menu, than select this and that. I remember seeing it long time ago (v8 or 9) adding the print command to the 3rd mouse button or right click. I'm googleing for this but not much luck, anybody can direct me to a detailed "howto" ?
just want to report "Right Mouse Click Freeze" on Ubuntu 10.10. When I click on anything with my right mouse button to open options menu it freezes and does not open menu. Sometimes when I shake my mouse left/right a bit it opens that menu, but this does not work always. It seems like xserver issue, but I'm not sure since I'm not expert in linux yet. It's very annoying issue that I would like to resolve asap.

It all works great and it looks good, except for one annoying problem I didnt think of. When I'm playing a game that I need to right-click to perform an action, the menu pops up. (Think StarCraft. Right click to move) Basically what I'm asking is if there is a way to add exception to this? the menu will come up as long as it is not clicked on certain windows?
Hi, here's hoping you can help me with this minor annoyance. If I right-click on the desktop I get no menu. I recently installed Zorin, a form of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid. In the course of 'setting up' my install, I lost this ability and, having made so many changes so rapidly, it's nigh on impossible to figure out what I did that broke my right-click.

It's mostly the first item, so as example, if I am watching ..... video, and I right click somewhere in the page background, then release the mouse, it makes my browser go BACK one page, because BACK is first item in right click menu in chrome...
Also I would like it to make it unable to right click in right click menu to press items in the menu... In other words, right click in right click menu has the same behavior like left click, but I want to disable it. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10 and noticed that right click stopped working on some applications.
Usually, there are two ways to select items on the right click context menu:
a) press and release right click, hover over option, press and release again
b) press and hold right click, hover over option, release right click
I lost option a). No matter how fast I press and release the right click button, it will select the first option on the menu as soon as I release it. So for example, the first option on the context menu on the chrome browser is "back". So if I try to open the context menu it will just go back. Because it selects the back option as soon as I release the right mouse button.
So far I only noticed this on Chrome and Eclipse. Firefox and the other default ubuntu apps are working properly.
Googling it, I found some other people with this issue, but no solution. Any idea what this could be about and how to fix it?

I'm trying to figure out how I can customise the menus that appear when I right-click on one of my panels or the desktop in Xfce 4.6.2 under Xubuntu 10.10. I was able to use Gnome menu editor to get the standard menus up to snuff but it will do nothing for the right-click menus.
I have no aversion to manually editing config files if that's what it takes, I just cant seem to find the right ones.
Me-TV was working fine. Now it will not open.
I click on the menu to open ME-TV and nothing happens.
Newish desktop with NVIDIA card. Again it was working fine, now it stopped.
Also, where do I find the error file in Ubuntu?

Changed to 3 different mice with the same problem. I've just worked out that switching to console and back (CTRL + ALT + F1) then login and CTRL+F7 fixes the menu?? View 5 Replies View RelatedAs Unity have too much serious regressions to be usable desktop (I'll list some so maybe somebody could get an idea what to change for Ocelot 1110 edition):desktop switcher is obnoxious for somebody who is used to having 8-12 virtual desktops and to see in system tray what desktop is taken and what desktop is free. I do not see Pidgin icon in system tray anymore. And I hate (not dislike, but hate) Empathy, so I do not want to hear "Install Empathy". Have empathy for users who just want their apps in system tray! Launcher is bugged. I added Synaptic to it, place in launcher was taken, but there was no icon until restart. I added dconf-editor, there was no icon for it also after restart. weather applet is no more part of date/time tray indicator, but you can install it separately. Yes, you can install it separately, but you can not add your location, and that applet is not smart enough to read your old settings of weather and 1-5 locations for time zones should I go further? In short, 1104 is stable but default login (Unity) is not functional. It is better than M$ Vista which was not stable, but I expected that Ubuntu would adhere to higher standards than one shitty commercial company which wants only money of users and therefore rushed non-functional software to market.
My question (finally): In Ubuntu classic items I added to right click menu using nautilus-actions are not there anymore. They are still present in Nautilus, but not in desktop right-click menu. I googled a bit and found zilch, so I ask here. Please share how to do it (scripts folder is still there, but that would be regression to be unable to edit right click menu, FFS Ubuntu is not proprietary software so we would be helpless and could not tweak our favorite OS how we like it).

Any file saved to the desktop folder does not appear on the desktop.I have reinstalled compiz, the nvidia driver and tried all manner of settings but just can't crack this one
