Got a Sony Ericsson K800i which I tether by USB. I'm having trouble finding the port for the config file, I have used HWINFO and I can see my phone but on the 'Linux.sysfs_path' parameter it doesnt state which tty I am on.
Anybody have any suggestions as I would really like to be able to read my sms messages on my system while hooked up.
I actually have two problems: I couldn't get DUN to work with Ubuntu for a while and then one day it just magically worked and would let me find the device and connect to it. And then it broke again. So in my effort to fix the problem it looks like Bluetooth went completely off the rails. When I try to add a Bluetooth device through the manager it just keeps spinning with "Searching for Devices" but the spinning finds nothing (it would run for an eternity if I let it, it seems). hcitool scan reports "Scanning ..." and then drops back to command prompt. hciconfig notes the device is up. The device has no soft/hard locks on it. If anyone has a CLUE about what it could be.
Obvious note: My phone is in bluetooth mode and discoverable so that isn't the problem.
If I make the computer visible, my phone DOES NOT pick up it's there. Also, bluetooth works fine on the Fedora USB stick.
I have a dell precision m4300 laptop with a 360 wireless bluetooth dell adapter On my system there is a debian lenny with kde3 and backported enable(everythings is p to date except bluez-utils and bluetooth holded at version 3.36-3)
Nowadays bluetooth more less works fine, I can send and receive single file to/from my phone (nokia n70)
The hell begin when I try to browse my phone files from konqueror...with bluetooth:/ I can see the list of all the device near me with sdp://[address]/ i can see two icons (obex file transfer & obex object push)
but I cant see or access to any file or folder into the phone.
I also try to update my bluez-utils to 4.60-1~bpo50+1 but in this case kbluetooth totally fail and a see the contextual menu of the system tray icon all disaled.
It's installed as a mobile broadband connection. Only works if my phone is plugged in during boot, otherwise plugging in my phone does nothing. For example, I booted my netbook earlier today but my phone wasn't plugged in. Tethering did not work, it just acts as if it isn't present. I rebooted (with my phone still attached) and now tethering magically works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two MP3 Player device and 1 old Blackberry phone(they could be connect to PC with USB cable). All of them works fine with Windows 7. Now I want to connect them to my Ubuntu 10.04.
When connected,There is absolutely no information about my devices either by dmesg, lsusb,mount or fdisk -l, gvfs-mount -l,cat /var/log/messages.
I have tried following but not work:
1.logout and re-plug my device then login again; plugin my device and reboot;
2.modprobe uhci_hcd ehci_hcd usb-storage and re-plug my device
3.add uhci_hcd ehci_hcd usb-storage lines to /etc/modules .
4.install mtpfs mtp-tools packages and use it in rhythmbox.
5.remove any other USB devices and re-plug my device.
The strange thing is, my kindle reader is worked fine with 10.04, but either my MP3 players or my old Blackberry phone is not identified by 10.04. Maybe All of the un-identified devices is USB1.X, but I'm not sure, or if there is some problem with old USB support.
My MP3 player identified as two device with Windows 7, one is USB CDROM, another is USB Mass storage.
I have a USB hub with one usb mouse and one USB key board, both works well with 10.04.
Most of the BT stuff I see involves connecting a headset to the PC...I'm not seeing much for what I want to do. I have a motorola Droid, and it's pairing via bluetooth to my thinkpad just fine. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 64bit.What I want to do is pair the PC to my phone and have the PC act as the headset, i.e., the audio from my phone comes out my PC speakers. Ultimately I'm trying to record audio from my phone, voicemails from Verizon that I'd like to save to audio files. A couple years ago I was able to do something like this with a Thinkpad in WinXP, and record audio using Audacity. I'm not seeing how to make the PC work as a headset.

I can also open my icecast server on my phone's web browser, however, when I try to open up the stream in StreamFurious it seems to download, but then upon finishing says something to the effect of "Broken Pipe - Stopped"

View 4 Replies View RelatedUbuntu 10.4, Sound card works great when recording and doing playback with Ubuntu. Skype v. 2.1 beta. In Windows XP, same system, I dual boot. When I use Skype (latest), and I try to call to a landline in the US, everything works fine. Everyone can hear me fine and there's no problems. The problem: When I use Ubuntu, and Skype, there's crackling, dropped off sound, and the overall quality is bad.
EDIT: The biggest issue here is dropping parts of the call. Why does it do that?
Does anyone know of any software that would allow me to listen to music on my android phone that is stored on my computer? Most of the ones I have looked at involve having to buy the music, where as I already have a large music collection.

I can play my music files over one of my work computers via blue tooth. but have been able to do the same with my home ubuntu 10.04 computer. oddly enough.I can connect to the phone and see all the folders on the phone but I cant see any files.also, I can download files to the phone but not up from the phone. am i missing something that enables playback over blue tooth? or is it simply something that windows has zeroed in on that linux hasn't as of yet?

So the idea here is, I have connected it up in every possible way to my laptop through bluetooth. I have found a way to stream music playing on the phone through my laptop speakers. I am looking for a way to use my computer as a regular landline telephone not by VoIP but by actually dialing on my landline to talk. I don't know what software I need. To escape the cable paradox, lately I came up with an idea to stream music from my mobile phone (LG GD880) via bluetooth to my SUSE box (which has it's audio output linked to my HIFI Sound system). This means pairing the devices and of course set the SUSE box as reciever. I found how to accomplish this here and here .
The problem: While trying to complete the above tutorial(s), I found that in /etc/bluetooth there is no ' audio.conf ' file, only ' main.conf '. If I insert the option: Enable=Source in main.conf, it has no effect what so ever. This means that org.bluez.AudioSource will not show up in D-Feet, thus I cannot take the next steps. What can I do? Is there another way to accomplish the audio streaming?

I have some video files that are in H.264/MPEG-4 with 5.1ch AAC audio. I also have the 2 channel audio. I cant stream or play MPEG-4 w/5.1 with my 360 so I need to remux the video with the 2 channel audio. Its easy as pie with YAMB but how can I do it with Linux?
