View 6 RepliesJust one little issue. I have noticed the video is choppy in full screen mode. I have found this problem discussed on other forums but have had no luck. I installed wubi over top of windows xp. My computer is a P4 3 Ghz with 1.5 G of ram. 80 Gig hard drive. I currently do not have a video card installed.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRunning ubuntu 9.10 on an hp pavilion 2000 laptop, with 2.5GB of ram and a dual core (i think). Works at perfect speed with everything, except when I'm tyring to watch a flash video which slows everything down and gets choppy, especially when in full screen. From looking around online I see some people blaming adobe and some people blaming NVidia drivers. Get the impression the problem is a bit of both.
Funny thing is it worked a lot better with the drivers that installed automatically with the ubuntu install, soon as I put the updated nvidia drivers on it started screwing up. how I go back to those default drivers? Tried unchecking the drivers listed in Hardware Drivers, but when I restarted was stuck in very low resolution, so I'm guessing that's not the same as the drivers used after installing the OS.
i have a problem with video.when i make full size video from browser or from video player i see only black screen.can anybody help me pls?

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen i stream videos through ff like videos, tv sites, or other, i get what seems like a memory stuttering especially when i put it on full screen.i thought it might be the video card but when i play avi videos direct, there is no problem with playback.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis obnoxious bar has just appeared in Smplayer at the top of the screen. It stays there even when I go full screen. Now full screen isn't full screen and there are black edges on both sides of the screen. I have not be able to figure out how to hide it. I do not need or want this onscreen display. How can I configure Smplayer to make this go away? How can I get my 16:9 full screen aspect ratio back? I have done nothing to mplayer or smplayer as far as editing any or changing any configuration files. I tried several videos and it displays on all of them. It was not there last time I used Smplayer.

View 9 Replies View RelatedThis bug is strange because it doesn't happen for me in Ubuntu (Gnome). Whenever I try to watch a Flash video in full screen, the picture always freezes after a few seconds of play, and the only way for me to unfreeze it is to get out of full screen using the escape key. I can put it back into full screen, but it always just freezes up again after a few seconds.
I figured out a strange work around for it though, but it's certainly not ideal. I figured out that if I get the time pop-up (see attachment to see what I mean) to stay up, it doesn't freeze. This happens in both Firefox and Chrome. I was going to try this in Rekonq, but I can't seem to get Flash working in Rekonq.
After opening a full screen video with hulu or news clips (I assume flash player), the video flashes for a about 2 seconds and then closes back to the smaller size.
what I need to be chasing?
I saw a compizconfig video on ....., I forgot what it was, but I saw that they were running a video full screen and switched desktops or work areas and when they went back the video was still full screen.
Right now if I do a video full screen and switch to another desktop and come back to the video one, it is back to the window size before full screened.
How can I accomplish for my video to remain full screen even if i switch desktops?
After I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10 - the Maverick Meerkat, I started having video problems. The upgrade was done automaticly with the package updater.Everything worked before I upgraded. Now when I view any Internet video, if I choose full screen, the screen goes white, and the video fails. The mouse still works. I can right click and force the page to close. The video works if I play it in the small screen box it comes in.It worked fine full screen before I upgraded.omputer specs.MONITER: LG 22 inch Flat screen - Ubuntu has this listed as GoldstarCompany Ltd 23" at 1680 X 1050 (16:10) 60 Hz. normal rotation.AMD Athalon 64 processor 3000+memory 1502 mib 64% free swap 4398 mib 100% freescsi hard drive (seagate dont rememeber the size)Asus motherboardATI Radeon X 1650 Pro (Rev. 9e) video cardCreative labs SB Audigy (Rev. 04) 2 ZS (SB 0350) sound cardLG flat screen moniter
View 4 Replies View RelatedI really don't know where I should ask this question. When I'm watching a video in full screen (ex, avi or h264 file) I am seeing random horizontal bars where there is action on the video like where a head is turning. When the motion is slow I am less likely to see these lines. Faster the motion, lots of lines or shaky motion. I was using my onboard Geforce 6150 GPU but thought it was because it was underpowered. I then bought a GT220 thinking that it was the problem. It is still but less frequent. Using the built in player, VLC... I don't know where to look, what to search for...There is my setup:
AMD Athlon II x2 255

nvidia GT220 512mb

I'm using 9.10 on acer aspire one (not the netbook remix).im using the default messanger client empathy.everything else works fine but when i try to video chat the video chat begins but if the other person even moves a litte or even nods his head then the video becomes so choppy that u cant see anything and then after 5 min comes back to normal for a second or two.i have all the latest updates and gstreamer0.10-ugly-multiverse which is required for video chat b/w empathy and gtalk.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed fedora 12 on my system but had issues with the ATI card I had at the time which I could not solve. So, I bought a Geforce 6200 hoping that would help, but I am still getting issues. Firstly, I cannot play full screen Flash. I know this has been asked before but all of the solutions I have tried have failed. Also, I would like to know if it is possible to play AVI files, as I d/l a few.
If I cannot get these two issues sorted it will be back to the dreaded Mic...... As I said, I am a complete novice here, I tried to enable desktop effects, and a message came up saying I only had 2D support, so I am guessing a driver problem? I have not installed any new drivers, but did try to get from nvidia, that I could not get to install - it was a .run file.
I have just followed the four point installation guide that I found on here, and now when the PC boots I have a slow moving blue bar across the the bottom of the screen with 'Fedora 12' next to it, and the graphics are now totally shot, looking like something from windows 3.1!
I have been trying to view streaming video ([URL]) on my LCD TV (Sony KDL-40V5100). The video is dropping frames when I view in full screen mode. I am currently running with Ubuntu 9.10 and have installed both the Adobe plug-ins.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using ubuntu 10.10 on Dell Inspiron 1525 dual boot with vista. My concern is streaming online videos through websites such as BBC iplayer, sky news, ....., NDTV news channel, etc. Videos are streaming perfectly fine as long as they are not running on full screen but if I try to run them on full screen video freezes (after a few minutes, say 5). Interestingly, sound does not stop. I can still hear the latest news updates but the video does not correspond. Same videos are running fine whether full screen or not in vista.

Just installed Ubuntu 10.10 on an old Dell Dimension 8400 with an ATI RV370 Radeon X300 video card and 512MB of Ram. The video seems to go very fast and skips. I followed the Comprehensive Multimedia & Video Howto but still have the same issue. I have also read many posts but I have trouble understanding some of the responses. Could it be the low amount of RAM?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 64-bit stable OS with Gnome 3.14.1 and Iceweasel 31.8.0
Some times, when watching full screen videos on: „you tube”, the only way to exit from full screen is to navigate with Alt+Tab to another open window, which cancel full screen mode, or Alt+F4.
Esc and „Exit from full screen mode” down right button, do not cancel full screen. Also on vimeo full screen videos freezes on half way.
I read that these may be because of VGA so i changed the VGA adapter, problem persists!

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I play a video web stream full-screen, the image randomly freezes. I can still move the mouse and hear the audio, but I can't click on anything, and I can't get out of full-screen. No keyboard commands that I know work, and so I end up having to hold down the power button to kill the machine.
This didn't happen in Ubuntu, so I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware issue. And I changed the power management settings to do nothing, but it still happens. So, I don't know what the deal is. Should I try a different flash player (I have the adobe player as default)?
I am having some weird problem with the firefox based flash player when playing videos in full screen. The video flashes white in areas while the video is playing. I don't know if this is Ubuntu, Firefox or flash. I am running Lucid on a Macbook Pro

now my main problem is whenever i change my visual settings from none to extra , i start getting noise on my usb headphone or even on my speakers especially if i play a video on full screen mode it become worse .. it starts constantly makeing buzzing noise. sometimes even when i minimize or maximize or scroll up down a window...
if i put the visual effects in normal mode i still get the noise on video playing full-screen mood but this is time bit low and on none mode i get the noise too but very low... so i m assuming there must be some problem with my vga card which is causing this chaos. unfortunately there is no driver for my graphics card dat ati supports on ubuntu, so i used gallium 3d project using this ppa https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/radeon .. graphics works fine now but this nosie is killing me ..
I have been trying out the new Slackware 13.37 and I have found that KDE will crash anytime I am watching a full screen video with Firefox 4 and attempt to adjust the audio levels using the keyboard buttons. If I use the mouse to adjust the audio level through the audio mixer gui, it seems to work fine. Both of my laptops ( a Gateway MP6954 and a Dell Inspiron 1520) are exhibiting this same problem. Both have the Adobe Flash Player version 10.2.159.1 installed.
