OpenSUSE :: Change Color / Style Of Task Manager Bar?
Mar 3, 2011I just installed SUSE 11.3 on my PC and used KDE desktop. But the default color and style of the task manager bar looks not so good to me. It's a back and gray bar. How to change its color and style? Should I install something else or just do some settings? I look through the system setting but can not find a way. Could you kindly please tell me how to do that?

Jan 5, 2010I'm running Kubuntu 9.10 (Karmic), and my System Monitor (a.k.a. Task Manager) has stopped working. I had been using the graphical version of the app because it was easier and faster for me to deal with. I know that there is a command line solution for this, but I also know it involves having to know the task number of the program I want to kill (I've got a game that I love to play, but only closes cleanly about 10% of the time). I've posted a couple of screen shots to show the errors... The first one is the error message itself (I have to hit 'OK' on this twice to clear it), and the second one is the resulting empty window of the System Monitor

May 29, 2011After upgrading from 10.10 to 11.04 all of a sudden, the task manager or task bar, keeps changing length. The individual window "buttons" themselves keep changing size - flashing even, and the space between them also changes. It is driving me nuts! The little system tray(?) icons no longer appear in the system tray, but all stacked on top of each other in the top left corner.

Jun 25, 2011Just upgraded to Lubuntu 11.04. Holy mother of God, the default theme is an atrocity. It looks like somebody puked blue on my desktop. I changed the theme but cant figure out how to change the color of the task bar on the bottom of the screen.
(On a completely unrelated note, Firefox now thinks Im British and wants to change color to colour....weird.)

Oct 24, 2010I am using Mandriva 2010.1 and KDE4. The primary monitor is VGA-0, and sometimes it's desired to play a video on the big monitor which is HDMI-0. I use an xrandr command line which works nicely except that the KDE4 task bar and desktop icons move over to HDMI-0. How can I keep the task bar and desktop icons on VGA-0 when both monitors are enabled?

General :: Accessing Windows Partition And Task Manager
Sep 21, 20101.) I have several versions of ubuntu installed on my computer. Technically, all but one are incomplete installs which I would like to delete if possible?
2.) I would like to access my files from the Windows partition, but it doesn't show up under "system." Is it for some reason impossible to access Windows files?
3.) My computer's performance has dipped substantially in the last two days. I am trying to figure out why this is, if there is a task manager or the like or a performance diagnosis tool. Also, my computer does not have an anti-virus program, that might also be the cause of the poor system performance.

Feb 28, 2010I'm trying to key information into an OpenOffice spreadsheet that is being viewed in another application, typically Firefox. Both windows are sized such that they fit on the screen at the same time. Prior to a week or so ago, this was very straight forward. Now when I click on an app in the Task Manager after opening OpenOffice, other open apps are minimized - sometimes all of them, sometimes just the most recent. I usually have Dolphin, a terminal window, Firefox, OpenOffice and sometimes a spreadsheet open. A friend who is far more familiar with Linux than I, suggested that the memory manager may have gotten confused and that logging out should clear this up. I tried that to no avail, as well as rebooting. I've also looked through the options in each of the apps that I've got open to see if there's any obvious user options that might be affecting this. I've found nothing.

Oct 29, 2010I've been desperate to successfully install Ubuntu on my Acer Aspire 1714SMi (old and huge, I know), but the display suffers from a greatly reduced color range, strange white haze/ fine vertical lines and virtually ilegible text. I took a screen shot as I know it's hard to describe these things, but it looks normal on the image! The Graphics Driver is nVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700 128MB. The display is perfect on XP.
I downloaded some NVidia Drivers for Linux from nVidia & from here: [URL] Can't get any of them to work, and I find it hard to believe it's so difficult to get a basic display to work. I'm about to give up.

Jul 23, 2011I just downloaded Open SuSE Linux 11.4 and installing it on a Vaio 2.8ghz Computer. While loading everything went well, but when I loged backon my Monitor Flashes about every 20 seconds, just for about 3 seconds. I am using a GForce 2200 Video card.What I need to know is their anyone who can tell me why this is happeining and how to fix it. I have used Open SuSE 10.3 on another machine and have never had this problem.
