They have broken something in their download site and it is no longer possible to get the latest flash player in a .deb package by direct download. The FTP site is years out of date. And there is no way to get through the "help' system to contact the people running the web site.
So does some third party offer the latest flash player in a .deb package for download?

In my F12 box, whenever I open ..... in firefox, it says either Java is disable OR install latest version of Adobe flash player. I checked in firefox prefrences menu and and there I see already Java / java-script checkbox in checked for enable and along with it I have the latest flash player installed as per the manual install suggested by the missing plugin notifier.

I'm using flashplayer-nonfree in Debian, and have run "update-flashplugin-nonfree --install". Going to the version checker (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) says "You have version 10,2,159,1 installed". However, when I go to the Firefox plugin checker (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/) it says Shockwave Flash is using an outdated version that needs to be updated. When I follow the update link, the version it wants me to download is "Adobe Flash Player version 10.2.159.1".

I was going to get a player that would be compatible with rockbox, but instead I wound up with a coby 707 mp3 player. It's nice enough but dragging and dropping is all I can do to get music on it. I was wondering if there is a way to manually create a playlist and pop it in with the music files?

I am very new to Ubuntu, decided to try it again with the new 10.4. I really need to have flash player plugin installed, but I get this error:
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
I even tried to go through the software center and the extra install through the help site from the firefox browser, but still get the error message.

I've tried using synaptic, didn't work. Tried completely removing it with the synaptic and then installing it again using apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree. didn't work either.
I've looked around a lot and I have yet to find anything helpful.
In synaptic and in terminal i get this: "Sub-process usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code(1)"
I don't really know what it means.
I read somewhere i should locate libflashplayer.so and copy it to the chromum-browser folder (i use chromium) so i ran code...
So it seems it's already in the right place. So i tried using this code...
i also checked the about: plugins page in chromium. I found the option to disable/enable "VLC multimedia plugin" under which i found "video/flv - flash-video". it was already enabled.
Well, i just don't know what to do.

I am looking for a good mp3 player. I obviously dislike apple n windows so I wont buy an iPod or Zune player. Now I am wondering if any of you had good experience with any other mp3 player on Ubuntu. The two things I want are firstly a product of high quality n functionality like those two mentioned above AND secondly a seamless ubuntu compatibility. I'd love to see synchronization and stuff working out of the box. Anyone out there found a outstanding product and like to give a recommendation?

Some inquiries regarding my Flash Player Plugin.
Setup: Ubuntu 10.04 (Fresh Clean Install) AMD64 Desktop - Using Firefox 3.6.9 with Flash Player Plugin
Problem: I can watch videos but cannot interface with the plugin. I.E. I cannot change volume, fullscreen, progress bar adjust, etc.
After researching for many How To's and install scripts I finally came across one that worked for my particular setup:
I got the script from the following link:
This installed successfully and I can watch videos but cannot interface with the plugin. I.E. I cannot change volume, fullscreen, progress bar adjust, etc.
I read that changes are in progress to update the 64 bit Flash Plugin for Mozilla, could this be a bug people have reported?

I just installed the newest version of Ubuntu 10.10 with a dual boot with Windows 7. I like it, but I think I might need sound drivers. Flash content sounds seem to lag a lot, and it is kind of annoying. I am using an ASUS M2N68-AM SE2. I can't find the original CD. and even if I did have it, would it even work with Ubuntu? Where can I get a compatible version?

I'm using version 8.04 and have been prompted to upgrade to the latest version of flash, which I did, but although the new version is installed it's not being used by Firefox. I'm still getting the message to upgrade. The version of flash I have is 9.0 r262. Is this a bug? shouldn't Firefox automatically be using the latest version of flash?

I tried playing a movie on the computer and nothing happened. Thats when I figured out I don't have a program to play the movie so my question is what dvd player program is good? Also is the source and slackbuild going to be on the slackbuild website so I can download it? The reason I ask the last question is because I tried to install swiftfox and opera but they don't have the source or slackbuild for them. For an older version of opera they did have the slackbuild and source but not the new one.
