Server :: Ajax Based MySql Admin Tool?

Managing MySQL servers can be quite complicated without a proper tool.I have used some commercial tools over the years, but I need something that is Web based, accessible from internet.There are NOT many offerings out there, so I wonder if, beside one company that launched a product quite recently (Novaquantum), there is something else out there that can I can compare it with?I guess when you find something that you like, you'll always to look for something better (PhpMyAdmin doesn't count!)

I have Fedora Directory Server with SSL running on my Linux Machine. I can see th output:

This shows that 636 port is open.But When I am attempting to this Linux Server from one of Windows Desktop it says "LDAP is Down".
I selected LDAPv3 and LDAPv3, hostname and SSL/TLS tried fetching base DN but it dint work.

There is a simple select query in a.php. If i run directly a.php, there is no problem but if i call a.php from b.html with ajax i have Access denied for user 'www-data'@'localhost' (using password: NO)error.

Mysql starting problem after changing mysqladmin password.I tried all the solutions available on forums, but not solve the problem.At last I restored the mysql db backup, this make mysql service start, but till other databases not showing all tables.

I'm looking for commandline monitoring tool for mysql and only thing I can find is mtop. Unfortunately, mtop's development halted back in 2004. Can someone suggest an alternative? or is there such thing?

i am running ubuntu 9.10 reasonably fresh install and i need to add a second user. the gui tool for that in ubuntu is not functioning correctly if i open it using the gui it does not ask me for the root password like the instructions say its supposed too and if i force it to take root from terminal with sudo users-admin then i can add a user but the account works exactly once and then it becomes broken and is inaccessible i have 2 dead accounts on my computer now from playing with it trying to get it to work.....

I recently ran into a situation where the ftp user account suddenly could not login. I used the User and Groups system tool to check the user account and reset the password. I then attempted to use ftp and login with the new password and still could not. I then went to check the permissions on the folder and found that the system partition was full, so using gpartd I was able to resize the system partition.
However this still did not fix the ftp login problem. When I opened the User and Groups tool again, all users,including my main account, except root are no longer displayed and all groups are not showing. If I try to add the original ftpuser account I get the message that the user already exists. And my main account works for login still. If I add a new user, it is not displayed in the list either.
If I do a cat /etc/passwd I see all the users listed including the new one I created and cat /etc/group displays all the groups and everything looks like the users are still associated with the correct groups. I can use passwd to change the account password without error and I can use adduser to add another user. Howerver no users are listed in the User and Groups tool and users still can not login to ftp. I can reinstall proftp if needed but I would like to be able to use the User and Groups tool to administer users again.
PS: Forgot that just before encountering the ftp login problem, Update Manager and some updates listed that I attempted to install but got an error and didn't have time to check why. Now I know that the partition was full.

just curious, this might not be possible, but is there any way with ajax to open an ftp connection, download a file and then turn around and POST it to a web server? the reason i ask is because i'm writing a script on a shared hosting plan that doesn't give me permission to directly talk outbound on the ftp port but i need to synchronize a file from a csv on an ftp server, this means i have to do the process manually, is there any way i can just click the button and let my browser do the work?

I am not new to linux, but am to mysql. i run a website, on which i decided to put vpet, a virtual pet php thing. now in the instalation of this thing, it did not ask for an admin password. but it did come with a database. so i'm guessing the login is hidden in there. heres the question, i have phpmyadmin. how the heck do i read the database?

Firefox & MySQL admin have black line borders. The tab, address input box, the search box, the scroll bars, and the dropdown menu area have this black line border. MySQL's admin utility displays the same. Can't figure out where to change it. Also other thread is about Desktop-Settings utility crashes. Should I just do a restore of user install defaults? How would I do that and save some of my desktop custom program icons?

I've got a bunch of PDF files that have been produced two "real" pages to a single PDF page; I'd like to chop these in half and put each half on a separate page. Essentially, I need something thatdoes the exact opposite of pdfnup (or psnup). Google and apt-cache search are giving me no love.Platform is Linux, open source preferred; as I've got a great pile of these to do something that can be scripted (as opposed to a GUI) would be nice, so I can just give it a list of them and have it chew away.A pre-existing script isn't the only option, either; if there's sample code to manipulate PDFs in similar ways with a third-party library, I can probably hack it into doing what I want.

I am not clear as how to put my question but what I am looking at is some tool which has a GUI to be able to design a databases and also once the database is done it should be working.Some thing like drag and drop interface for a database.As an example I can write a query on mysql command prompt or phpmyadmin to create table its fields etc.Can I use some thing which does not involve mysql command line?What should I search for?I know very well how to work with mysql command prompt I need a GUI tool for the same to some non technical users.

I think this goes here, but I'm not sure. I decided that XAMPP had been troublesome enough. MySQL never worked. So I decided to instal the LAMP stack offered by YaST. I went about installing it thinking that it would all work. But it seems that I was wrong. So I try to start mysql, and here's what I get:

Is there a system admin tool for RHEL on montioring and logging system memory used and released that can dump to a log file?I'm having an issue with memory not being released when an application is closed. i am using liferay5.2(mysql included in the download pack) on fedora. while liferay is working fine but i cannot connect to mysql.i am getting the error

I have installed MySQL server via Synaptic Package Manager successfully and I also installed MySQl administrator to check for MySQL installation. It is all there. And I ran this also, where "mysql" is a client tool:

I entered my ubuntu user password, and I get access error. I have 10.04 LTS version.

I'm looking to import hundreds of email messages stored in mbox format into a MySQL database. Is there a tool out there to do this already? I'd rather not reinvent the wheel if at all possible. I've been using HyperMail to archive my email in HTML format, but the results aren't searchable. I figure that once it's all in MySQL I can write some simple queries to accomplish this.

As it says in the title I need to use the scalpel file recovery tool, or something similar to be able to recover a lost mysql storage folder.. The system crashed, and I really need these files as fast as possible. I have a scheduled backup to run on our server at work and since the 7/12/09 it has be making 592k files instead of 10Mb files, In mysql-admin (the GUI tool) I have a stored connection for the user 'backup', the user has select and lock rights on the databases being backed up. I have a backup profile called 'backup_regular' and in the third tab along its scheduled to backup at 2 in the morning every week day. If I look at one of the small backup files generated I see the following:

I tried to use sysv-rc, sysv-rc-conf, rcconf and rc-conf in the terminal but Bash didn't find them (Although Synaptic show that sysv-rc is installed).

I have a LAN of about 70 computers that I would like to share media files between. I have gotten to the point with Samba that I can view the files without a username/password from client PC's. I would like to make all the folders read only except for one which will be writable for everyone. The thing that I am having a hard time with is allowing a couple of administrators (on Windows 7 machines) read/write access for all files/folders. I have installed Mysql in Ubuntu 9, for the use of roundcube database.After installing iam getting the error like this

* Checking for corrupt, not cleanly closed and upgrade needing tables.
