In GNOME there's an option to highlight your mouse when you press CTRL so that it's easier to find. That's a great function for me, because I work with several screens simultaneously. I really like KDE; does anybody know how to do the same thing in KDE or at least something similar? I haven't been able to find anything in Google.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently installed Slackware onto a virtual machine(I'm planning on buying a new disc drive and 1 TB HDD with-in the next couple of months and plan on Slackware being my primary OS[right now Mac OS X 10.6 is]), and everything went great.
I then went onto edit the /etc/inittab file in emacs and changed the run-level to 4. I don't know why it's decided that I'd want to boot into KDE when XFCE is installed and in the configuration I selected XFCE but it's not really relevant(I have a WM guide thing open in another tab and will probably be able to change it).
The problem is, as the vague title may suggest, is that it basically freezes when I'm at the log-in screen. The input field for the username is highlighted and blinking, and the cursor it self is visible in the centre of the screen, but it simply doesn't pick up on any input from my keyboard or mouse.
I tried booting up the install CD and logging in as root, mounting sda4(which is the root partition) and editing said file but sudo isn't installed(to my knowledge) on the install disc and when I do the command,

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter working fine for a year or so, I suddenly have no keyboard after the GRUB boot screen either on normal Linux start-up or fail safe. The computer is dual boot with Vista and the keyboard works fine on Vista. The keyboard is PS2
that also does not recognise key presses and I cannot get into Yast either because of the need for a password.. Linux security is all very well, but it is a serious pain...
I have a second dual boot machine alongside and I assume that if I knew the keyboard driver filename and location, I could copy it across. Is that too simple?
I have been googling trying to fix this ... basicly I have a (int **) variable, and when I try to pass a (int) value to a specific position, I have seg.fault.Resuming what I have is:

I've been having problems with firefox(updated) keyboard stalling. It's throwing off my typing. The stalls are small about a second, but making typing a problem. I have to wait for the stall to pass before I can finish typing a word.

Now time has moved on I have begun to encode to flac, and I want to find and delete any mp3's that I now have as flac.
The problem is, the file names are not always identical AND the extensions are different, meaning the command in the previous thread doesn't get me very far.
The music is stored in the format of /home/music/mp3/Artist/Album/ and /home/music/flac/Artist/Album/ if I could just get a list of all the "album" subfolders which are duplicated I could work the rest by hand.
I cannot find how to set VIM so that it higlight syntax (for exapmle bash scripts). I installed VIM package by using aptitude, but I dont have file .vimrc in my home directory. I found out that settings have to be written in this file. I can use command in VIM :"syntax on" but VIM shows syntax terrible. I think that is cause by some color setting.

I am familiar with the program and have had it running previously when the machine was Linux-only. Everything else, e.g.Firefox and Office, work fine in Suse.

The problem occurs with all commands - not just this one. isis3Startup.sh is in green on the screen so I assume I should be able to run it - I have never had any problem when it was installed previously.
I tried to install JRE to my remote Suse 11 SP1 linux.After i finished with files i typed like

I am using openSUSE 10.3 and the pc is DELL Optiplex 780. The network devices is not supported by openSUSE 10.3 but I may have found it's module. But I can't "MAKE INSTALL" it as my installation does not have MAKE command.
I have selected "Install All" during my installation. Linux version is 2.6.22.5-31-default.
What is the package name for the MAKE command? So that I can find it so that I can install it into my openSUSE 10.3?

I use ubuntu now and its awesome but there is one little thing that annoys me, i have looked through gconf and compiz conf and i still can't find a solution.
Its probably something really simple tho.
All it is, when i select an url, any url on any application a box pops up with the options:
open with firefox
send url
open with mozzilla
open with opera
can i stop this happening?

When he runs the script, it waits until he hits ENTER to get back to a prompt. Other times he doesn't. Also, I've noticed that this will sometimes happen, then immediately rerun the script and the behavior stops.
