I want to write some script to do a job which is post some data to the website every one hours .I find some information say the Perl can do this job .I know I can write by the vim.but is these any tools can help for coding .may be it will prompt the class .what tools you use ?

We will use Eclipse IDE and C++ lanuage. I hope the tools are easy-to-use, reliable, popular, better with good supports, and not-too-expensive. I already find a list of tools at WiKi, however, I don't have time to try them all. Could anyboy please recommend me a few? If you can tell me briefly about their pros and cons, that will be the bet.

I've been requested to modify a perl backup script we use which mounts a networked NAS machine. The actual mount command is called inside a system() command. In testing, I can do a test of the return value, so I'm able to tell whether or not I've mounted properly, but I can't make heads or tails out of the return on deliberate errors. (Such as mounting a non-existent box.) I'm displaying the returned value, which is 256 in my tests. The man page for mount listed error messages with values from 1 to 64, but no higher. Am I drawing this error value from the system command somehow? And what would be the best way to determine what this error means?

All the packages are maintained in debian but only as binary packages. May be I should look at source packages. This is the make step error./tmp/cctiuwxL.s is the make temporary dirictory which is distroyed after the make process finises . The problem is how can I hold the /tmp/cctiuwxL.s dirictory .Then I can check it and find out the proiblem.

Before the programming gets so big it is unmanageable, I was thinking about best practices and similar things. In that process, I came across something called the "Unified Modeling Language" (UML). Also, looking at a, cross platform, free, tool, that is good for C++. Ideally with reverse engineering and code generation. I came across Bouml, found ArgoUML. The former seems to support forward and reverse C++, the latter doesn't. Also, it seems that Visual Paradigm has a "Community Edition" that is free for non-commercial use. Then there are more on the Wikipedia page. I would like to hear from users what they like and don't like. Looking for reviews here.

Okay now I need a perl script which create or recreate (edit) id3 tags (artist, comment, album, year, cover) of mp3 files stored on my linux centos server. I installed MP3::Tag version 1.13 pearl module to my server. I Searched tutorials about how to use it, finally I get through reading id3 tag of mp3 file but not achieve to modify it or create a new id3tag.
These are the details:
I have a mp3 file called 1.mp3 this script will process that '1.mp3' file read its id3tag if there is one, than modify or create id3tag for it by my fix artist name for example:

these are gonna be my fixed values. I mean all '1.mp3' file will have same artist based on script value.
The reason of this script is I will share Dj podcasts on my server and Dj's would have upload their mp3's which has got different id3 tags and cover pics. etc. I want to create more organized podcasts of them by the way I would trigger this perl script via Cronjob.
