yesterday installed a fresh OpenSuse 11.2. Since then the confirm buttons (OK / YES / ...) are not working, when clicking (mouse). An keyboard ENTER-press does work.
What is the problem? Is it an OpenSuse bug?
For anyone who is not familiar with it, I am talking about the trim functionality in the 2.6.33 kernel for solid state drives.
View 6 Replies View RelatedUpon logging into kde 4.4 the left mouse button (3 button usb mouse) becomes unresponsive on certain windows. For instance the toolbar may still respond to left-click while other windows on the desktop do not register it. However more and more windows/panels become unresponsive rather quickly. The same happens for right-click sometimes but far less often. Some functionality can be recovered by re-plugging the mouse.
Logging out and logging back in solves the problem until the next reboot. I have tried different users and wiping the .kde and .kde4 folders. The problem persists. I can stil work by relogging every time I turn on my computer but it does waste a lot of time so if there are any ideas I'd apreciate it. KDE 4.4 release 3 (There seems to be no updates in YAST available)
I am trying to get the forward and back buttons on my Logitech Surface mouse working in openSUSE 11.2 running as a guest in VMware Workstation 7 on a Win7 x64 Pro host. I have read many places about editing the xorg.conf file and have done so successfully under Ubuntu in the past. I have successfully installed VMware Tools and everything is working as expected except the side buttons on the mouse. I have no current xorg.conf file
View 5 Replies View Related1. I ordered an Opensuse 11.2 Live CD-Gnome 32-bit and an Install DVD 64-bit from a [URL].
2. My plan is to install Opensuse 11.2 from the Live CD on an old 32-bit Dell Inspiron 7500 laptop (512 mb Ram) and dual boot it w/ Windows XP.
3. And then to install the 64-bit Opensuse 11.2 on a newer 64-bit Acer Ax1200 desktop (4 gig ram).
4. Is there a way to confirm that I have the correct 32-bit Live CD and a 64-bit Install DVD?
5. I tried looking at the "properties" of the Opensuse Install DVD while in XP, w/out seeing any obvious signal identifying 32 vs 64 bit.
6. I have a hunch that if I accidentally try to install the 64-bit version on my old 32-bit laptop, it would be a disaster.
So here's the deal: I'm "supporting" this older lady who's using an i386-type Compaq (Pentium III -- Coppermine) with 384MB of RAM. She says that the machine is being slow, and I decide that she needs a leaner OS than what she has (which is Ubuntu 09.10). OK, so I do some research and conclude that openSUSE is the best OS for both the machine and for the older lady. I use Bittorrent to download 11.3 and check the md5 checksum. In my own room I install on a machine that is identical to hers 11.3 and everything checks out (I ultimately conclude that GNOME is large for the machine and spend a number of days trying to swap it out with XFCE, but that's another story.). So I figure that everything's great and I use the same (GNOME) live disk to install 11.3 on her machine. As soon as GNOME fully boots up it crashes. I reinstall and it crashes again. I swap out hard drives (remember, these are identical machines that I'm "supporting", here) and as soon as GNOME is fully loaded 11.3 then promptly crashes. Finally, I swap out her entire MACHINE with the identical one that I've been working on in my room. The f---er crashes when GNOME is fully loaded! By now, I'm fully pissed (because by this time my regular machine has ALSO gone down (possibly because of openSUSE, but I cannot say definitively so at this time).

I install eclipse via the synaptic package manager and it did work before but I was messing around with some svn packages and corrupted it. So naturally I did a complete removal of anything related to eclipse and reinstalled all the packages after, but to no avail problem still persists. here is the log file it tells me to look at, can really make head or tales of this stack error info, not really a big Java man.I have a 64bit install of ubuntu 9.10Quote:

I am trying to get Eclipse and the Android SDK working in Ubuntu. So far everything works except when you try to create a new Android project and, the build target area is grayed out. Why? I did run the android tool inside the sdk folder and created and Android 2.2 AVD. Why is it not reading it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got home from work today and my laptop was being strange. normally when left for a while the screen locks so you have to enter your password to use it. when i came to it the screen was black, like normal, only there was no login box just the mouse curser, that i could move about. so i did the ctrl alt f1 thing and logged in then rebooted. booted up all ok but neither of my shift buttons work. they work in the main login when i first turn it on but after im logged in they do nothing. i tried selecting mutiple items with shift and that doesnt work either. i aint changed any settings or owt like that. does anyone know whats up with it and how i can fix it'questionmark' im using 10.04 on a dell inspiron 1525 laptop. when i log in as a guest the shift buttons work fine. what is it that i have thats stopping them from working 'questionmark'
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running 9.10 (Karmic) on a Compaq Presario CQ60 laptop with Nvidia graphics. I have installed the -185 driver which has solved most problems. However every so often the system seems to lose track of the mouse button state. The first symptom of this is that all mouse movements on text are treated as if the left button is being held down: mouse movement selects text rather than just moving the graphics cursor. I am using a M$ optical mouse.
I have tried:unplugging and replugging the mouse using Ctl-Alt-F1 to go into a console and Ctl-Alt-F7 to go back to the GUI I am able to shut down all of the open windows normally using the keyboard, but the only way I have so far found to get the GUI working again is to reboot the system.
I recently experienced a problem with Gnome and I removed and installed some components from it. Now that I have fixed the issue, the experimentation trying to fix the error has caused two minor problems with Gnome? View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using Eclipse to program in Java for a long time, and have been using Jigloo for most of my GUI design. Recently I decided to try out the C/C++ plugin. I tried installing it, but it did not work. After many attempts, I finally gave up. However, after uninstalling it I found that Jigloo had stopped working. Any other plugins I try to install now also don't work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling plugins, and reinstalling eclipse, but nothing I have done fixes it. Although eclipse says that the software has been installed, nothing shows up in the features list or the plugins list.
Another problem: When I install eclipse from the repositories, it doesn't install a bunch of libraries and eclipse cannot recognize standard java files.

I upgraded from F11 to F12 and everything seemed to be working until I went into my Eclipse IDE. Several things stopped working, icons in the "New" sub-menu items disappeared and when I activated wizards and added items like a new text file, I was unable to complete the creation of the file. If I try to "Save-as" the file to a file named create_products.sql pressing the "OK" button does nothing. This seems to be true of all of the wizards when you try to write out the changes, nothing happens. All these wizards worked correctly under F11. The Eclipse IDE is installed in my /home/user/Application/eclipse directory and was left in tac after the upgrade. Does this mean I need to do a full install and if so will restoring my home directory just result in the same problems? [URL]. Seems that there is a problem with eclipse 3.5.1 and F12 regarding mouse click capture.

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday upon booting my Xubuntu 9.04, I see that all new windows I open have their title bar missing and on top of my pannel menu. If I try to run windows manager from the menu, nothing shows up on the screen. Therefore I think my windows manager is not running at all. I have no graphic effects and dont want any. I noticed that nothing shows up on the task bar (bottom bar) when I have anything opened up in the desktop. Can't minimize, can't click close button, ...How do I fix this ? I followed a thread to install Compiz and emerald just so I could get it to work but I do not like this option. I do not want any special effects. The more effects/options I have the more possible problems I may get. By the way I also have this problem on my office Ubuntu 10.04. Both started having this problem recently. I suspect it is an update that was done that is causing this.

On every version the mouse buttons stop working after a few clicks, on the trackpad and with a USB mouse. lock panel is checked if i right click. If i uncheck lock panel it will work for a little bit longer then stops. Anybody know how to fix this?This is my first time using ubuntu and i really want to love it. Had xp before on the Dell, but I don't like it. We're a Mac family, but if this works ubuntu could change our minds!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded to 11.04 and really like it so far, everything seems to be running smoothly and I had no issues apart from a broken Emerald which I removed (and installed compiz-gnome and then made gtk-window-decorator the default, which fixed Unity segfaulting on Emerald).
My problem now is that when I use the Unity dash to search for something, it takes a while to search and then finds nothing. I'm pretty sure I should have things like "text editor", "gimp", "update manager", so I would think this is some manner of bug.
In addition to that, the following buttons don't do anything if I click on them:
- Media Apps
- Internet Apps
- More Apps
- Find Files
Here's a weird one. Once in a while I inadvertantly hit the key combination RIGHT-ARROW + INSERT on my keyboard while editing in Geany. This stops my mouse buttons from working and I have to kill xorg. Anyone heard of this before or how to fix it? I know I know, I should stop hitting those keys by accident, but it seems to happen at least once a day! This is on Fedora 12.

Based on what I saw in my google search, it means I'm using Ubuntu 32 bit. I want to make sure I download the correct version of Google Earth.
Ran into an issue where there was a corrupt tar and nothing to do except revert to an even older one. Naturally I am then asked, can you confirm via crc or something that a tar was successful?I wish to tar / gzip some files and folders, will do them seperate, some are small, others can reach 5-7GB, but is there any way to rify aside from listing the contents that upon a tar completion that everything was fine?
