Hardware :: Hauppage Win TV Nona 500 PCI?

I am trying to get a Hauppage Win TV DVB Tuner Card working in Ubuntu 11.04 Desktop 32bit.So far when running the scan tool from dvb-apps I get the following as an example:
>>> tune to: 697833000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_AUTO:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_2K:GUARD_INTERVAL _1_32:HIERARCHY_NONE (tuning failed)
Though I installed the driver from 'Additional Drivers' and dmesg gives me:

I have given up trying to get the hauppage 950q to work on ubuntu 9.10. I just cannot get it to work. tried kaffeine, tv time, tvhead, mythtv and none of them work. So before I return it I wanted to know if it could work under a virtual machine (tiny XP). Has anyoe tried it? Also what VM do you recommend to be able to get the usb connection to work out the box?

I have Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 with this card, its just works without any configuration but I have a big problem.
I start Kaffeine 1.0-svn3 and I can see the last dvb-T channel but when I want to change to other channel I can't see it, I have to restart Kaffeine, or wait to get the "Read error from:" error press Ok and select the channel.

I have encountered a problem when trying to create a Myth .24 setup on a fresh, clean OpenSuse11.3 installation.
I have installed the OS and then installed Myth (using packman repo) and started to configure it (ie created the DB and the specific Myth schemas) however when I try to configure the card I am told "Unable to open the device".
I am far from an expert here but found that if I do lsusb and dmesg | grep dvb, I can find a little more about the problem ...
