I have installed ipcop v 1.4.21, and addons TCAR and Ipcop-Advanced proxy.Now i want a login script for users on the green interface. So that when they start using internet, they first receive login page (or even through a login url page), and if they are idle for particular time, they should disconnect automaticaly. and users can check their bandwidth usage and time usage on this page.

But sometimes users login into applications servers and started doing all their developer's job. i want to allow only a limited number of users tointo this application users not all the users who are all part of the nis domain.all the systems are running RHEL 5.4 on hp's proliant x86_64 based servers. Please advice me how should i proceed? enabling ip tables is not possible in my environment.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've set up password-less login for user1 on a Ubuntu machine to login automatically into a Fedora box using the publickey authentication method. Everything is working smoothly. Now, there is a user2 on Fedora but he does not have an account on Ubuntu.
I tried to login as user2 from Ubuntu to but got the following error :

Predictably neither scp or sftp work either. I have several questions as a result.
1.Is the SSH server rejecting user2 login because I am inadvertently using user1 keys (as I am logged in as user1) ?
2. Do I need to have a user2 account on Ubuntu and public/private key authentication setup with Fedora for user2 to be able to login ?
3. Is there a method I can use to password login as user2 from Ubuntu to Fedora (even though there is no user2 account on Ubuntu) AND still keep password-less login for user1 or do I have to have password-less login for both ?
At present the only way to access the user2 account from Ubuntu is to SSH using the user1 account and then su to user2.

Now I want to configure that no any FTP user can access other FTP users directory or any other directory in server machine . What I do for this .

As a total beginner to LINUX I am using the threads here to help me through the install/setup process. After following the steps in another thread http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-linux-752598/ I have IPCOP 1.4.20 installed and running (Advproxy,PUTTY, SSH enabled ect)and the TCaR addon operating fine on the GREEN. Everyones connection is working, however when I tried to send out usage reports after an hour of use it registers all persons usage as 0mb.
I am using a Billion BiPAC 5200 modem set to full bridge and a 5 port switch running without any modification. I had set the IP addresses in TCaR(not using MAC addresses)of the students and set their profiles to give 81920MB of usage per month. Usage is set to 1 cent per MB although I will not be charging for usage. Am I not waiting long enough for usage to register? Should I be changing settings on my 5 port switch? I noticed that the addon section of IPCOP is over 900 days old, is TCaR no longer compatible/supported? I can supply any further data with regards to my IPCOP and TCaR settings
I'm using the yast2 gui interface to configure apache. I think its called yast2_http_server. I added one website with *:80 set as the virtualhost ID. When I go to add a second website with the same thing, it errors out with: The IP address is already configured on another virtual host: *:80/mydomain.com. I have another opensuse box with many websites in apache configured this way.

I can individually use both connections. say if I disconnect ppp0 (wvdialer), everything works fine and same in other case. Now my problem is I want torrent client to use ppp0 and all other applications like firefox and other use eth0. So that I can use both interfaces effectively.
I changed in ktorrent client's configuration, and change interface to ppp0 from all interface, but it didnt work. When my eth0 id down I can ping using ppp0, but when eth0 is also up, I can ping via eth0 but not via ppp0 (ping xxxxx -I interface). What is I am doing wrong? How can I configure torrent client to use ppp0?
