I am running Fedora 8. Each time I run a YUM command, I get the message that there are unfinished transactions, and to run yum-complete-transaction. Upon running yum-complete-transaction, it fails with this error. How can I remove this uncompleted transaction so I can finish the last one?

then did yum update with plenty of problems
then I tried
yum --skip-broken update

Whenever I use yum after a recent update I get the message that I should run yum-complete-transaction.I have yum-utils installed but I keep getting the message that the command is not found.post the command I should be using to run it so I can see it it's just me typing the wrong thing into the shell?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know there are hundreds of similar questions about suspend on Ubuntu, but none of the fixes they use work for me. This bug is the only thing that stops me from using Ubuntu - I put computer to sleep (suspend to ram) and after resume I have no network. The only way to get network back is to restart.
Looking at the logs, it seems that NetworkManager starts, finds the device and then fails to complete DHCP transaction. I don't know what causes the problem, probably this line: "via-rhine: Reset not complete yet. Trying harder." Does anyone know possible reason for this? Here is the log:

I have unchecked the box in the update list to be installed, but the software update insists that this update is needed. I cannot progress any further than this error message..
I inadvertently typed the wrong path when changing my user login shell and now every time I log in I get a message stating that it can't find the shell and boots me off the system. It will then redisplay the login prompt. I'm running Ubuntu Server x64 in VMware Workstation.

I'm not sure what to do. I can add --skip-broken but that's not going to solve the problem. uname = Linux 2.6.35.13-92.fc14.i686. I'm guessing it's because I'm -92 and it's wanting -95 but if that's the case - where's my yum'ed 95?

I have boot as a separate partition, this time around I have set it to ext4 for the first time. That partition is only 250 Mb, but that has always been sufficient in the past, perhaps I am holding too many kernels or kernel versions?

Ok. Using Release 12 Constantine Gnome 2.28. Whenever I try to update my computer via de Software Update Manager that pops up every now and then I get an error and the Software Update fails.
The error says its a repository not found, but I am very new at this and have no clue as to where to fix this. Alongside of this, is the fact that since one of the updates is failing, the rest don't install either. So the updates keep on piling.

After this installation stops.
I checked /mnt , there is no folder as sysimage . Please suggest how to proceed further ?
