I am triying install F14 virtual machine in my Windows XP systems. I have downloaded .iso file from fedoraproject.org: [URL] I create my virtual machine and I continue with all steps to install but when installation process finished and I reboot, process installation starts again. Can you tell me how I can create my F14 virtual machine on Windows?

I have a Lenovo T500 laptop with 4 GB RAM. I have installed Windows 7 64bits OEM on my laptop HD. I also installed Fedora 14 on my USB External Hard Drive which it has it own boot sector. I don't want to have a dual boot. So if I plug in my external HD to my laptop and turns the machine on, it automatically my Fedora comes up, other wise my windows 7. (I set up start-up boot drive , first to USB External HD and then internal HD)
I installed KVM (Virtual Machine Manger) on my Fedora 14 and I am trying to install windows 7 64bits OEM on my Fedora 14 as Virtual Machine. After setting everything and start installing windows form CD, I got BLUE SCREEN right after "WINDOWS FILES LOADING..." finished. it shows me a blue screen and then it will stop
Questions:
1- How can I fix that problem?
2- Is ther way to make a Virtual Machine on my Fedora using my exiting installed windows 7 on my laptop HD?
My laptop is running Linux Mint 9 and I am trying to install Fedora 13 in a virtual machine within Virtualbox. However, it's not working. It takes forever to get past the initial white/blue loading bar when it first boots and then it just goes white, so I can't see anything. I've already tried modifying the bootline parameter of the live CD to include noprobe, noacpi, noapic, nousb, and nofirewire. However, the result is the same. Am I missing something? Is it possible to install this?

Since we use Fedora servers at work I have wanted to try Fedora for some time and I tried running it in a virtual machine.My virtual machine is Sun VirtualBox and my OS is Vista Ultimate. This is where I hit the wall, the screen where you select installation drive/partition. The field is greyed out as you can see.
I have prepared a partition, at first I formatted it in FAT32 but because I didn't see it in the installation screen I just re-formatted it in NTFS.Installing with virtual machine should be working? View 2 Replies View RelatedMy company's default OS is Windows 7. I convinced my manager so that I could use Fedora 12, since I am mostly familiar with development environment in Fedora. However there are a few things I need in Windows 7, and I want to stop going back and forth in two OS'es in dual boot-up setting.
I've searched online for easy way to use the existing Windows 7 as guest virtual machine. I first tried VMware's Vcenter Converter Standalone in Windows 7, but it failed with some error code, and searching the particular error code didn't turn up any solution. I also tried to use Sun's VirtualBox, but I get segmentation fault error in Fedora. I tried to see if VMware server has a tool, but installation exists with an error, and searching the web for the error code didn't turn up anything either.... I wonder if I am having this much difficulties because I am using x86_64 version of OS'es.
Anyhow, if anyone has done it successfully - using existing Windows 7 as guest virtual machine in x86_64 version of Fedora 12.

The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. reinstall the kernel module by executing

According to the Fedora Installation Guide, I can run the application called "Install To Hard Drive".

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhat I'm trying to do at this point is setup VNC so I can remote into the system via my windows xp systems. I have VNC installed on those computer and I was able to get GNOME's remote desktop operating when I log in on level 5 and actually logged into my user account. However, when I'm not logged in on level 5 it will reject connections entirely. Ultimately I want to remote into the system using tightVNC and view the level 3 (command line only) thing, and allow me to telinit - 5 to switch to gui if I need it from VNC on the windows system. This way I don't need a monitor, keyboard and mouse plugged into the server. Right now that's what I'm having to do.
The problem is that it doesn't run in level 3 at all and level 5 (gui mode) doesn't work if i'm not logged into an account. So how can I get this to work at as a constant running server no matter what level and login point i'm at? Ultimately for this Linux admin class I have to setup a working server and I figured I'd get a base setup with VNC support that I could log into from school to work off of instead of having to use the local connection. Once I get VNC working on my network i'm pretty sure I can get it working beyond my local network.

As you can see I'm having issues with the libstdc++ lib being detected. I have it installed, but apparently not everything is setup properly. I also have an RPM file for VNC and I've tried to install it with the gnome shell but it gives me an error: "Can't install /home/[user]/Download/vnc-4_1_3-x86_linux.rpm as no transaction" I'm not sure what that means. The disk will not start up, if I restart and try to boot from load i just sits there and says boot from cd. The disk drive plays music cd's fine, so i dont really know what the issue is.
I dont know that much aboutut ubuntu. a tech friend put it on hard drive he gave me after mine crashed. also i should ad that i took the disk to someone else's house that haswidnows installed and the disk worked just fine, so its not a disk problem

Using x86_64 Fedora, with virt-manager, and trying to make a Fedora 15 virtual machine. Using Fedora-15-x86_64-netinst.iso to try to install it. When I boot the virtual machine, it gives the boot screen. If I choose the first install/upgrade option, I get console messages but it hangs when it gets to "Trying to unpack rootfs as initfs."
