Fedora :: Browse Encrypted LVM2 - Unable To Mount Location

I have no idea what I'm doing so here goes: I installed Fedora and clicked the "encrypted" box during the process. What I want to do now is "browse" the volume using "File Browser" but I only get messages like, "Unable to mount location, org.freedesktop.DeviceKit.Disks.Error.Failed: Not a mountable file system". Why cannot I not see the files? I have the password. I would like to be able to move, delete, rename, etc files but that seems impossible because I cannot access the drive.

Fedora Installation :: Unable To Mount 250GB LVM2 Physical Volume
I just installed linux fedora 14 on my hp probook 4320s with installation CD with this name: Fedora-14-x86_64-Live-Desktop. Then I installed it on the hard disk. During installation I chose to encrypt hard disk. When I try to access my hard disk it says "unable to mount 250GB LVM2 Physical Volume, Not a mountable file system". What can I do to get access to my hard disk?

i try install fedora 10 from cd live. But i can't. the partitions are unable to mount. i recive a message:

DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error. No Reply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

Ubuntu :: Unable To Mount 52 GB LVM2 Physical Volume?
When I installed Ubuntu, I created an 52 gb encrypted partition which shows up in the disk utility, and in the window that opens when I click on the "home folder" icon. I get my normal windows partition, and under that the 52 GB LVM2 partition. But when I try to access it, I get this error.

Unable to mount 52 GB LVM2 Physical Volume - not a mountable file system

This is what fdisk -l shows

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 52 409600 27 Unknown
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sda2 52 30452 244193280 7 HPFS/NTFS

How can I fix this, and be able to access that 52gb partition? This is only my second day that I work with Ubuntu, so If more information is needed then let me know

Fedora Networking :: Accessing Windows Shares - Unable To Mount Location
We are using spare parts (Socket 775 Biostar motherboard, OCZ 500wat PSU) to build a computer that will just be another system in the house. I want this system to be running Folding@Home, and the F@H SMP client for Linux is much less of a headache than its Windows couterpart, so I would like this computer to run Fedora. My dad loves networking, and knows how to do it in XP / Vista, so he has always opposed my frequent use of Linux. There are ways of accessing Windows shared folders from Linux, but that I haven't figured it out yet. I want to access Windows shared folders from my Fedora 10. I don't know how to go about doing this, can anyone point me in the right direction? Do I have to install anything special? I can go to Places, and then Network (in Gnome) and I see "Windows Network", but when I click it, I get "Unable to mount location Failed to retrieve share list from server"

Fedora Networking :: Unable To Mount Location - Failed To Retrieve Share List From Server
My network has several machines on it. They are all connected to a single router. Two of the machines are running Windows Vista, one Windows XP and one Fedora 11. When I go to, I see an icon that says Windows Network. If I click on it, I get the message: Unable to mount location, Failed to retrieve share list from server. When I had Ubuntu running on this machine, I had no problem seeing and connecting to the Windows Vista machine.

Ubuntu Networking :: Unable To Mount Location / Failed To Mount Windows Share
I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 running Ubuntu v10.04 with a wireless card.My desktop is a Dell Optiflex running WinXP.The desktop is connected via ethernet cable to a Linksys wireless router. Certain folders on the desktop are set for sharing. Up until early last week I was able to access the desktop folders from the laptop with no issues.Suddenly I am now getting this error "Unable to mount location Failed to mount Windows share" whenever I try to access the desktop folders from the laptop.I suspect an upgrade is the culprit, but not sure.

Software :: IPhone 4 Won't Mount (LMDE) - Unable To Mount Location: Unhandled Lockdown Error (-5)
I just installed Linux Mint Debian Edition on my friend's laptop. The biggest problem is getting his iPhone 4 to mount. On it shows a cool video of a guy managing his iPhone with Linux thanks to libimobiledevice. also says libimobiledevice supports the iPhone 4. But when he plugs it in, he gets an error that says:

Quote: Unable to mount location: Unhandled Lockdown error (-5) It's a serious issue and needs to be resolved ASAP. ***EDIT*** If this is a hardware topic, any mods can feel free to move it.

After entering the path in my smb.conf file they appear on the network but I am unable to navigate to them. When trying to navigate to them through the network folder on the pc they are actually connected to I get an "Unable to mount location: Failed to mount windows share" dialog box. On the windows pc I am trying to share with I get, "Windows cannot acces \Josh-Desktop

My smb.conf file looks like this:

That folders I cannot access are Music and Videos.

Ubuntu :: Unable To Play Audio CD's Or Video DVD's - Unable To Mount Disc: Location Is Not Mountable
I'm totally unable to play or mount audio CDs and unable to use video DVD's on my box right now. When I insert an audio CD I get a dialog box saying:

Unable to mount disc: Location is not mountable

and if I check messages in the Log File Viewer I see the following text repeated (save for the last line) a couple of dozen times.

May 24 13:04:37 Amber kernel: [ 6680.434685] sr 0:0:0:0: [sr0] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE

on a similar but ultimately unrelated thread someone was asked to enter a few commands so I tried them and the following was the output:

main@Amber:~$ ls /dev/scd*
main@Amber:~$ sudo mount /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom0

An error occurred: Could not open location; you might not have permission to open the file. As far as I can tell I have the relevant CSS libraries installed I'm lost without being able to play CD's and DVD's on my system.

Ubuntu :: Unable To Mount Location?
I have some shared folders on my laptop, most of which I can access from any other machine in the house. But one returns an error every time from any PC. I open the Places menu, select network, choose the machine and get a set of shared folders. But when I try to open this one I get an error message "Unable to mount location. Failed to mount Windows Share". All the machines are running Ubuntu 9.04 or better. No problem with any other shared folder, and the permissions are the same for all.

I worked around it by creating another folder, copying everything across, and sharing it with the usual perfect result.

Ubuntu Networking :: Unable To Mount Location
I have two Windoze 7 laptops (i know, i'm evil) one Windoze Vista desktop, one Android 7" tablet, one Windows mobile 6.1 PDA and one Ubuntu 10.10 laptop. everything can read and write to everything except for the Ubuntu machine. i Can't see the Ubuntu machine from windoze or the droid, and like wise, my windoze and droid can not see the Ubuntu laptop. I keep getting the error "UNABLE TO MOUNT LOCATION", "Failed to retrieve share list from server."

this is what I have tried. Followed about 20 videos on you tube (to no avail.) Edited my smb.conf file (to no avail.) Uninstalled then reinstalled samba (to no avail.) Smashed my head into the screen several times (to no avail.)I was able to get 9.10 & 10.4 working O.K. But 10.10 has got me stumped. I did a search through this forum, but nothing seems to work. I don't restart Samba, I restart the laptop (better?)

I would like to shrink /dev/sda2 to make room for another regular partition, is this possible?

However when it comes to the main thing (/dev/sdb5) that's actually encrypted I run into LVM issue.

When I try to do this:

And successfully enter the passphrase, I get this error:

(GDecrypt reports this error like this:

LVM indeed was used on the old system.
