I have a document with page numbers in the Table of Contents in Roman Numurals. I would like to change them to numbers 1, 2, 3. How would I do this? I'm not finding any help on the Internet and in Openoffice help. If I change the numbers manually, they will revert back when I update the Table of Contents.

Software :: OpenOffice 2.4 - How To Edit Table Of Contents

May 17, 2010

Using Debian Lenny
Openoffice 2.4
I have a Table of Contents that I need to edit. Some of the levels are out. It has 7 parts. Part 3 is buried under Part 2. Is there a way to fix this and bring out Part 2 to be a main heading in the Table of Contents? Is there an easy way to do this, or do I need to edit the entire Table? The entries in the Table are linked throughout the document. I've looked at a few tutorials on the Internet, but am still uncertain about how to do this.

CentOS 5 Networking :: Proxy - Error "can't Initialize Iptables Table `nat': Table Does Not Exist"

Aug 19, 2011

We purchased a virtual server from GoDaddy (1 month trial) to set up as a proxy for our networks (24 of them). I am having 2 separate issues. The first is I can't configure/install NAT and support is telling me the only way I can is to purchase a dedicated server. Here's the error:

iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-port 3128 iptables v1.3.5: can't initialize iptables table `nat': Table does not exist (do you need to insmod?) Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded. Here's the fix: [URL] So, what I am hoping to do is configure this by just opening port 3128 directly, and only allowing access from our networks. As a test I did this and allowed only from our office and it did not work. However I can't connect, so I am wondering what I am doing wrong? Here's my squid configuration:

Ubuntu :: Open Office Writer - Page Moves Around When Working With Graphics / Charts?

Mar 16, 2010

I am using OO 3.1 on Karmic 9.10. When working with Open Office Writer and either graphics or charts, a couple of things happen. First of all, the page position moves around. For example, if I click on a graphic I have inserted or on a chart, the page on my screen may shift up or down by a half inch or so. If I click back out in a text area, the page moves back to where it was. This is very annoying. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I have tried turning off compiz completely but it doesn't fix it

Mar 28, 2011

I just found out about Libre Office. I am currently using Open Office on my Netbook (ubuntu 10.10), and NeoOffice on my Macbook (OS/X 10.6.7).

QUESTION: I have some backups using these formats: .sdw, and .odt. Can Libre Office read documents saved in these (StarOffice / Open Office) formats?

FWIW: I would have preferred to use OO on both machines, but unfortunately OO never fixed a problem with printing envelopes in the Macintosh version. Hence my use of NeoOffice.

how to set up the route table so that: everyone can access my server with the domain name, and let the traffic goes from eth0 as much as possible(I have a proxy service on my server. At least, let the proxy traffic goes from eth0)?

Ubuntu :: How To Restore Partition Table

Oct 8, 2010

I got swap space full error and the ubuntu version of "blue screen of death". I used Disk Utilities to delete a 2.1GB unused partition. When I tried to create a swap space partition (with Disk Utilities) it failed. In the mean time ubuntu did some security updates. When I tried to create again Disk Uilities did not complain but only created a small ~ 500 kB partition. I deleted that and reboot and got "unknown filesystem grub rescue>". I booted from a USB key successfully. Now Disk Utilities and File Browser can see all the partitions and files on the hard drive, but GParted thinks the entire hard drive is unallocated. I vaguely remember that there are two partition table on the hard drive. It may be that one of them was deleted (when I removed the ~ 500 kB partition with Disk Utilities earlier maybe?). It seems at least the other partition table is still intact since Disk Utilities and File Browser can still see all the partitions and files. Is it possible to restore the deleted or damaged partition table and make the hard drive bootable again?

Ubuntu :: Partition Table Is Completely Gone

Oct 18, 2010

I Inadvertently deleted a good partition while trying to clean up after a 10.10 update install failure that left grub broken and prevented me from using my working Linux partition. (installed 10.4 in a new partition) Used testdisk to restore the deleted partition which resulted in the entire partition table being wiped out.All partions are gone, win Xp, 2 Linux partitions, 2 Linux swap partitions.Testdisk deep search does see the partitions but will not recreate the table.

Is their anything I am doing wrong in Testdisk that it won't write the table?Nothing else has been written to the disk.I very carefully recorded the partition information - is their any way to manually enter?

Ubuntu :: Get KDE Office Instead Of The Regular Open Office?

Sometime ago I realized my Open Office had changed, I don't remember having done anything in particular but today it isn't the regular open office but what I believe is a KDE version or idk. The theme changed and instead of regular menus I get "window" menus, in the sense that they get effects as regular windows. It's hard to explain it.

I tried uninstalling it and installing open office and also in the soft center open office is more than once, but I tried the different versions and I still get the same problem.

The problem is that every time I reboot my computer, my partition table gets destroyed. I tried fixing it with testdisk and gparted, but as soon as I rebooted, everything is back to broken. So far I've troubleshooted to the point where I know it's not an operating system's fault. I'm hoping it's nothing more severe than a bad hard drive.
