Ubuntu :: Scanner - Image Scanned With Inversion Of Colors

Nov 8, 2010

I have the scanner HP Scanjet 2400 installed on a machine with K/Ubuntu 10.10 and I use the software Simple Scan to scan image. Problem: The image scanned by this scanner comes with a inversion of colors (what was supposed to be orange is blue ; the white sheet of paper that I've put inside it was not in the blank color when I scanned it too)... My Question: Is this a configuration problem (I did not configured this scanner at any way, so it's working by the Ubuntu drivers itself without my intervention)? Is there any way to solve it?

Ubuntu :: Canon MX320 Scanner Not Able To Get The XSane Image Scanner To Recognize Scanner?

Jul 11, 2010

I just received a Canon Pixma MX320 as a gift.

I am currently running the Ubuntu 10.04 OS

I was able to get the printer up and running by downloading the printer driver for debian linux (3.1) from the Canon site without any problems.

Unfortunately I am not having the same luck with the scanner.

I tried downloading ScanGear MP for Linux (deb) (1.3) from the same Canon site but have not yet been able to get the XSane Image Scanner to recognize this scanner driver for my Canon.

Ubuntu :: XSane Image Scanner Won't Recognize Scanner?

Sep 7, 2010

I've installed XSane Image Scanner. When I first opened it, it searched for my scanner and didn't give any error messages, and it had my scanner model in the heading of the scan window. But when I hit the scan button, it gave me saying, "Failed to start scanner: error during device I/O.I closed everything, and opened XSane again. This time it said there was no scanner available. The scanner is plugged into the USB port and uses that for both power and data. It's a Canoscan Model N650U.

Software :: Xsane Reduces Size Of Image Of Scanned Page - How To Get Back To Full Size?

Nov 12, 2010

Ubuntu 10.04, xsane 0.996, Brother MFC 240c scanner.I just finished writing a long dissertation on my problem with this scanning environment (which I will spare you). In a nutshell the resulting image, when printed, is smaller than the original document. In writing my dissertation for this post I determined that the cause of the issue is that xsane believes I am scanning an 8.5 x 14 inch document when I am in fact scanning an 8.5 x 11 letter. So the question is... can I change the size to 8.5 x 11? and if so, how? I have not found anything in the xsane Preferences.

Ubuntu :: Xsane Image Scanner Freezes While Scanning?

Nov 19, 2010

I have a Fujitsu ScanPartner 93GX scanner that freezes Xsane when I try to use it. The same thing happens to Simple Scan too.

When use sane-find-scanner I get the following:

Code:
# sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the
# result is different from what you expected, first make sure your
# scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer.
found SCSI scanner "FUJITSU M3093GX 02" at /dev/sg0

[Code].....

I started to think I might need a different driver. I found a driver (sane-fujitsu.5) at mangpages (link), but there are no instructions as to what directory to place it in, what files need to be modified to point to it, etc.

Ubuntu :: Graphics - Change To A Warped Mix Of Colors And Pixels When Change The Background Image

May 19, 2010

I recently installed Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Remix on my Gateway LT3103u. I noticed shortly into using it that it has a graphics bug every so often. Especially when I change the background image. Everything will change to a warped mix of colors and pixels. Everything is affected. My mouse, the bar at the top of the screen, text and all. My netbook runs on an AMD Athlon 64-bit processor with ATI Radeon X1270 HyperMemory up to 256MB graphics.

So far I have tried reinstalling, and even the 64bit desktop edition which had the same problem. Ive noticed that it freaks out when i scroll too quick, when changing background images, and on certain websites. Then other times its completely random. When it happens it looks similar to these: [URL]

I had to set the card type to DVB DTV capture card (v3.x) to get mythtv-setup to successfully scan. I was able to successfully scan both with a "full scan" and with a channels.conf file that I had generated earlier when tinkering tv in mplayer. Ubuntu Security :: Mount The Image Or Extract The Image To Another Drive?

Feb 16, 2011

I was given a forensic Image which I now know is a DD image of the drive (Vista) and am trying to mount the image or extract the image to another drive. I'm not sure of the extention type or if the image is a partition or the entire drive. I think it is the entire drive.

Is it possible to mount a DD image to a device. If I can't do that I just want to extract the files to run some programs against the drive. Can I view the files under Ubuntu or do I have to remove the drive and stick it into a Vista computer.

I purchased a second drive today and was hoping the command line would be something simple.

Or am I on the wrong track, should I be doing this all in a windows environment. The reason I picked ubuntu was because of the reporting tools.
