Fedora Servers :: I Can't Connect To My Server Using Putty

Sep 15, 2010

i can't connect to my server using putty.

I have a virtual dedicated server, running - Linux Red Hat Fidora core 6- Pentium 4, 3ghz

I'm attempting to use Putty to log in SSH, but I'm getting an error.

Saying the sever unexpectedly close network connection.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it. This is a new computer, that hasn't logged in using putty before. Also I'm on a home wireless network. It dosen't seem to be a firewall issue, the error message pops up, when the firewall is disabled.

And I just had Go Daddy do a reboot. Oh, and I think I might have entered my password incorrectly a few times, last night.

I remember the Go Daddy rep, saying that my IP address may be flagged, but that it would unfilter and unlock it self within an hour or so. It's been over 24 hrs.

Before the password issue, i was able to log in.. But i can't now.

Others can log in. So there unable to duplicate the problem.

I'm new to Linux, and SSH.

Any help

I'm trying to install some software...

What I did?? Reinstalled the ssh, but everything was same, the problem still appears. So I reinstalled the Operating System, now but when I going to connect to server the problem appears again! What could be the cause of this behavior??

Jul 4, 2011

when I try to connect via PuTTY from a windows machine I get " PuTTY Fatal error connection timed out. I try to do so via a router redirecting IPadr:86 to local adr:22 on the Linux machine.

I seems not to be a routing issue since the router is setup to redirect apparently correctly.

Well I have stopped iptables and selinux is disabled. The sshd deamon is running. I can logon with ssh locally "ssh webcamATlocal adr".

Fedora :: Using Jack In F12 - Unable To Connect To Server

I'm trying to record video of a game I am playing. I am using gtk-recordmydesktop but it records the audio from my mic. This is obviously not what I want. Networking :: Connection Refused In PuTTy And SQLyog Can Not Connect?

Feb 27, 2010

I researched a long while and could not find an answer to these problems, so here I am. I have a debian server running on my home network. I have it running LAMP and it has a live website.

I have samba running and share files with my windows 7 machine, so they do connect.

When i try to use putty it always refuses the connection.SQLyog tells me off too, but it only cays it cannot connect.

I was checking into SSH, since that is how they are both trying to connect, but I can not find adequate info online for my problem.

I have debian lenny running, I was pretty sure it has ssh running, but i couldnt locate 'sshd'

Is SSH on there by a different name or do I need to install the service.

(ps - getting samba running was a nightmare, but i think it was windoze fault, i tried setting up the debian machine exactly how the guides said to do, but it never could connect and denied passwords constantly, then the next day after a few windows reboots had happened, all of the sudden it worked. Don't know what the deal was there. Could that be instrumental? Sorry I am a web dev and not a networker so this stuff is not my forte.)

Fedora Networking :: Unable To Connect To Wireless Networks And Unable To Configure Network

Jul 27, 2010

I just switched from Ubuntu to Fedora 13 because I was unable to get Ubuntu to connect to wireless networks. I tried everything suggested in help and forums, and kept getting "Bad Password" with WICD and Network Manager. Now, with Fedora...I still can't connect.

Problem #1: The guide says to "...make sure that the relevant wireless interface (usually eth0 or eth1) is controlled by NetworkManager," and that I do this via: System>Administration>Network

However, there is no Network option under System>Administration.

Problem #2: I open Network Manager, which displays a list of networks. I click on mine, configure it with WPA and the right password, and it fails to connect: "The network connection has been disconnected."

- Tried generating rsa (as well as dsa) keys on the linux server and put the generated public key in the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys. Then I converted the private key using PuttyGen.

- Also, tried generating keys using PuttyGen and then converted the public key and placed it on the server

- Configured the sshd server (ssh_config) for using RSAAuthentication=yes. Tried all combinations and purmutations; however, I still get the "Server refused our key" error.

The server itself is able to connect to internet resolve DNS if I allow connection to our trusted network I'm able to ping or connect to any computer in trusted network but still unable to ping from trusted to DMZ. The SSG5 policy is set up to allow any connection from trust to DMZ and interface is set up to route all traffic.I have tried to trace the ping It'll go through firewall right to the interface needed but then it'll time out as like the server is not connected at all.
