Debian :: Gzip - Stdin - Invalid Compressed Data - Crc Error

I have two Debian machines running Squeeze x86 and x86_64.

I am having difficulties to untar a file in x86_64, although it is working in x86.

I made sure file is the same and the md5 match in both machines.

It seems like something special in x86_64 is causing it to fail.

OpenSUSE Install :: Invalid Module Format - FATAL: Error Inserting P4_clockmod

Jan 10, 2010

I have a problem with loading the powersaving kernel module p4-clockmod.ko. When I try inserting the module (via modprobe or insmod) I get FATAL: Error inserting p4_clockmod (/lib/modules/ Invalid module format The module has been compiled together with the kernel. Other modules load with no problem at all. I've tried recompiling the kernel (after re-installing the sources, make xconfig from scratch) - no avail. There's only one kernel source package installed. Searching the forum and google didn't yield a helping answer.

Ubuntu :: 10.04 Transmission Requested Download Is Not Authorized For Use With This Tracker

Aug 18, 2010

I have ubuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64.iso loaded in Transmission, which starts every time I boot up. Today, I booted up and got these weird error messages from Transmission with the ubuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64.iso file. The message is: Tracker gave an error "Requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker." - Idle.

I thought that maybe something was wrong with Transmission, so I paused the torrent and then removed it. I then reloaded it and pointed Transmission at the download directory. Transmission verified the downloaded data and then spat out the same error message at me - "Requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker."

I then removed the torrent from Transmission, exited from Transmission cleanly, restarted Transmission, reloaded the torrent file, pointed it at the current download location, it verified the file was completely downloaded, and then got the same error message. I have a firewall running, and it has ports 51413 and ports 6881-6999 open for both TCP and UDP connections. These are the same settings that I had yesterday, and there was no error message spat out by Transmission yesterday.

OpenSUSE Install :: Kdeinit4/tracker-miner Hogs CPU For Ages After Login?

My configuration is OpenSuSE 11.4/KDE4/32bit. I am noticing that for about 20 minutes (or more) after first login every time there is a process which takes 100% CPU for most of the time and, of course, slows everything down. The system monitor suggests it is the 'tracker-miner' process (whatever that is). Do I need the tracker-miner? What good does it do? Is there any way to stop it (not to start it)?

OpenSUSE Install :: 11.2 Update Error: Failed To Download From Repositories

Feb 22, 2010

The red updater icon alerted me to about a dozen patches, which started to install, then halted with an error: Download failure from When I try to update repositories, the same error recurs for that repo and also for .../oss and,

If I attempt to "register for support to get update repository," clicking on Configure Now and Next produces the same three error messages: "Failed to download", one for each repository. The screen then returns to Registration, with another error message "an error occurred while connecting to the server". Clicking on the Detail button show exactly "ERROR:"

This AMD desktop machine with this install of 11.2 has updated many times in the last few weeks. Has something changed? The update servers do respond to a ping, so they are up and apparently I have connectivity.

I'm trying to install Fedora 13 VM on my CentOS 5.5 64 bit install following the below link. I used this same process to install a CentOS 5.5 VM just to test the process. Now when I try to follow it making changes for Fedora Im getting an error.[URL] config file:

ramdisk = "/install/vm/fedora/initrd.img"

In the CentOS link I posted it said to use kernel from the xen directory.Ive found out that the last fedora version that shipped with xen was fedora 8. Does anyone know where I can find a fedora 12/13 xen kernel? Ive searched google for hours and can not find a xen kernel. Actually I'm to the point where I would even use ubuntu or any similar distro if I could find a xen kernel.

OpenSUSE Wireless :: Linksys WUSB600N (rt2870) - Insmod: Error Inserting 'rt2870sta.ko': -1 Invalid Module Format

May 24, 2009

I'm new to openSUSE and as a matter of fact, to linux too. I've got a Linksys WUSB600N wireless adapter which used to work fine with some live versions of linux that I was testing out before moving onto suse... Each time, upon booting using live CDs, I used to copy the driver I had downloaded from:

SpeedShare - Download rt2870-kernel-2.6.24-nemesis.tar.bz2

Then 'make' and get into the driver's os/linux directory to load the driver using 'insmod rt2870sta.ko' Now, upon doing a 'make' and 'make install', followed by the 'insmod rt2870sta.ko', I get the error saying:

insmod: error inserting 'rt2870sta.ko': -1 Invalid module format

I tried doing 'modprobe -rv rt2870sta' and didn't get any error messages. But while doing 'modprobe -v', this error shows up: insmod /lib/modules/
FATAL: Error inserting rt2870sta (/lib/modules/ Invalid module format

OpenSUSE Install :: Upgrade To 11.2 With Broken Zypper / Repository 'gwdg_suse11.1' Is Invalid?

When I attempt to refresh my zypper repositories, I get messages like:

Repository 'gwdg_suse11.1' is invalid.

However, I would like to upgrade to 11.2. Is there an upgrade CD, or should I just download the 11.2 DVD (at nearly 5GB) and choose the "upgrade" option from it?
