General :: Loading Php Module Without Restart Apache / Load Zend Extension Using '-z'?

Sep 23, 2010

I need to load php module without restart/reload apache, is there a way to do that, php has its option to load zend extension using '-z',

php -z <filename>

is there anyway because I need to load php module in runtime, that I don't want to loose the live running session.

Red Hat / Fedora :: Ffmpeg-php And Gd Module Loading / Unable To Load Dynamic Library?

Jan 19, 2010

fedora 12 with php 5.3.1 + apache is installed on the server

I needed a FFMPEG + MENCODER + FFMPEG-PHP setup , so I have installed all of the necessary libraries/codecs along with ffmpeg , mencoder and ffmpeg-php

I've added ffmpeg-php ( module to php.ini and restarted httpd

But ffmpeg was not showing up in phpinfo() so I grepped : php -i | grep ffmpeg
for some clues and got this warning
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/modules/' - /usr/lib/php/modules/ undefined symbol: php_gd_gdImageSetPixel in Unknown on line 0

That error explains why ffmpeg is not loading

Obviously something to do with GD library , so I've researched on the net , and found that some users suggest loading the GD module before FFMPEG module.

I gave it a try and added this at the end of php.ini:
Code: [gd]
;loading gd
;loading ffmpeg ...but still same error when greping phpinfo()

General :: Firefox Extension Not Loading?

Mar 2, 2010

I am developing an extension for firefox that enables users to chat with any others who happen to be browsing the same website at the same time. The xul file adds a tool bar with a button "Enable Chat" in the browser toolbox. when a user clicks the Enable chat button, the server initiates the chat. I went through many tutorials for extension development. They have helped. But I cant seem to get my extension up properly. Ill just put up the contents of my files for extension..

/home/neethusha/extensions/blaze (blaze is the name of the extension)

I made the pointer to the extension in a file named "blazebutton" and saved it in the firefox profile folder "/home/neethusha/.mozilla/firefox/"

When i open the firefox in this profile, the extension is not loading...

Fedora :: Login Missing After Apache / Zend Server Installation

Jan 9, 2011

I am new to Linux. I installed some weeks ago Fedora 14 via burnt iso file downloaded from official Fedora site. It was working perfectly like a charm for me until yesterday when I tried to install zend server for PHP. During my first try of installation of zend server it corrupted out my apache server and I lost apache on http://localhost. I removed all "zend-server" like stuff from "Add Remove Software" screen. Installed again apache 2 in the form of LAMP (Linux Apache Mysql Php) via terminal. Apache installed correctly and started workeing again ok on localhost. Then again I tried to install zend server from file in downloaded zend server installation. It showed me after a while like "zend server installed successfully".

I shut down my pc thinking everything is ok now. Today when I started my system, it shows me boot screen of Fedora, I select fedora and then it shows me balloon filling up for around 5-7 secs. Then all of a sudden a black screen appears up with a cursor blinking at its top left and then nothing else happens further. I cannot find login screen to my desktop anymore. I remember one thing that during reinstallation of apache from terminal, I set following command like "chkconfig --level 235 httpd" (I guess that's what I have written as per some online tutorial for LAMP). Is that cause of mine problem ot its something else?

General :: Failed To Load "canberra-gtk-module": Libcanberra-gtk-module No Such File Or Directory

Mar 25, 2011

i installed firefox 4 and removed the old 3.X version. did a general update that my computer showed me was available then i noticed the first problem. firefox 4 would not launch when i clicked it, it would only launch when i clicked the gnome 3 applications button and then clicked and dragged the firefox logo to the desktop, then it opened. the second problem i am now having which at the moment is more bothersome is that after i closed the lid to my laptop and opened it up again after a while and logged back in and noticed that the ENTIRE gnome 3 environment was gone. no panel no menu nothing just the desktop and a few desktop icons. i tried the command "yum install gnome-shell" but it just sed that gnome 2.31.5-7 .fc14.i686 was already installed so it wasnt gonna do anything, then i tried the "gnome-shell --replace" command and it just said

failed to load "canberra-gtk-module": libcanberra-gtk-module no such file or directory.

OpenSUSE :: PHP5 Soap Extension Not Loading?

Feb 10, 2011

I have no hair any longer on the sides of my head... after trying to deal with this problem. I have installed apache2 on a SuSE 11.3 box, with php5, php-pear, php-gd, etc, and I cannot get php-soap to get recognized. Do I need to see the soap.[URL]..When I run an installation wizard for the web app I am planning to host, and it says that there is no soap installed. When I place soap php-soap php5-soap in the APACHE_MODULES of /etc/sysconfig/apache2 (just to make sure at least one is the right name) and restart apache2 I get error messages that say, soap (or php-soap, or php5-soap) is not installed, so its being ignored. When I run my phpinfo.php script, I see PHP is working, and soap is one of the successful modules (!?).

So, why can't apache see soap? I can find my within /usr/lib/php5/extensions/ (how would I successfully load that into Apache, when it starts? I have been using yum, so I went to yast, and installed php-soap again. restarted apache, and still no success.

General :: How To Load A Kernel 2.6 Module With F Force Option?

Jan 21, 2010

I have a loadable module, simple enough I believe it should run on any 2.6 kernel. I want to force the load and test that assumption. How can I do it?

ismod does not seem to notice the -f in 2.7 modprobe has -f but cannot locate the module. No go. So I read the manpage for modprobe which says: modprobe looks in the module directory /lib/modules/'uname -r'.So I copied MYMODULE.ko to /lib/modules/2.6.(the only directory in here) and type: modprobe -f MYMODULE.ko.Still can't locate MYMODULE.ko.I notice there are no other .ko modules in that directory; so I go in deeper to kernel/drivers/char, guessing about the char directory, and copy MYMODULE.ko there.

Now for an extension to be valid so chromium would accept it I observed it needs a manifest.json file as in this tutorial [URL].. .So I've figured it out it should look something like this

The thing it's when I try to load unpacked extension in chromium I get a syntax error at line 6 column 7. Now I have to admit I'm not so good at scripting so anybody has any idea in how to fix this ?

OpenSUSE Install :: Failed To Load Module "fglrx" (module Does Not Exist, 0)

May 8, 2011

I've installed openSuse 11.4 server-mode (text only) on my desktop, and I'm trying to configure IceWM so i'll eventually have it set up so it always boots into text only mode, but I could be able to quickly start icewm via the command line.using Yast, I installed the Xorg server, and icewm.when I type X, the screen goes black and it just doesn't seem to do anythingI found if I hit ctrl+alt+f1 it kinda puts me back into text only mode, but I can't put in commands anymore. The last thing it says on the screen is:

Failed to load module "fglrx" (module does not exist, 0)

I've goggled that error message and the discussions that popped up around it made no sense to me at all. I've never configured X from scratch before, can someone point me towards a tutorial or something?
