Fedora :: ITunes Under Wine Doesn't Recognize Ipod?

Dec 15, 2010

I have just installed F14.I installed Wine and iTunesSetup.exe.When I installed iTunes it said it couldn't import or burn cds.It also said that maybe playback could be a problem.None of this is an issue for me as I only want to use it to load my ipod. When I plug in my ipod it doesnt show up in the left hand menu bar as I'm told it should. How do I load my ipod?---------- Post added at 05:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:54 PM ----------After installing the 293 updates available to F14 I found that an ipod icon appeared on my desktop. Can I just copy mp3 files to here. There are a few folders, where would I copy them to?It would be good if I could transfer files without Wine. Lately I've been alergic to all things Microsoft.---------- Post added at 06:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:53 PM ---------- iTunes wont even start up from the desktop icon

Ubuntu :: Ipod Touch 4 - Won't Recognize As It's A Old Version Of Itunes

Sep 20, 2010

I just got the new Ipod Touch 4, and I have somehow connect it to the Itunes for the first time, and I'm trying to do it under Ubuntu... Does anyone know a way to do it? I tried installing Itunes 7.6 and it worked fine with Crossover Linux, but I guess it won't recognize as it's a old version of Itunes.

Ubuntu :: Wine - Couldn't Get ITunes Barely To Put Anything On IPod

Oct 29, 2010

I've had Wine issues from the start. iTunes barely worked as a player, couldn't get it to put anything on my iPod. Now AIM doesn't work at all. It starts to come up then has "Internal errors - invalid parameters received" and is forced to close.?

I know there are other IM programs that run in Linux, I'm currently using Pidgin and I like it, it's just you can't do some of the AIM things like Audio chat { I know it's coming eventually } or image share where both IMers can see the image and not have to do a file transfer. I'd just like to be able to run AIM via Wine.

OpenSUSE :: Banshee Doesn't Recognize Ipod?

Nov 14, 2009

I've just installed openSUSE 11.2 (with Gnome). Everything works fine except the Ipod support in Banshee (Ver. 1.6 Beta 2).

When I connect my Ipod Video 30GB to my Computer it is recognised in openSUSE and also a new Nautilus windows with the Ipod content is opened. But in Banshee there is no Ipod button or anything else which allows me to sync my music with Ipod.

I've already tried to delete the /home/{user}/.config/banshee-1 folder and installed the banshee-1-dmp-ipod package. The Ipod plugin (Ver. 1.0) is also installed in Banshee.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Does Ipod Need To Be 'initialized' In Itunes?

Jan 6, 2010

I have a new 16GB nano ipod, and I "initialized" it in Rhythmbox. I added about 6GB of music into it (via Rhythmbox). When I eject and disconnect the ipod, it tells me that 6GB are occupied, but the music directory says that it's empty. Does the ipod need to be "initialized" in itunes? I have another ipod that was first used in itunes and it never gave me any issues with Rhythmbox.I have two machines running Ubuntu 9.10. I can't get itunes working with wine, and I don't have a mac or a windows machine.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Can't Get Itunes To Work - Using WINE ?

Aug 30, 2010

I cant seem to get iTunes to work no matter what I try, I installed WINE and various versions of iTunes, depending on what the guide that im following tells me to do. I usually get most of the way through and then something that i'm suppose to put into the terminal doesn't work. Itunes sometimes freezes the computer when i try and use it, and sometimes it gets to the point where it says something about not being able to work because qucktime wont work and i have to reinstall itunes, which i try to do, which does nothing.

I have a computer with a 64 bit processor, and an ipod touch. I am willing to go to whichever version of Ubuntu that works best with whichever version of itunes, i don't have anything important saved so going to a different version of the OS isn't a big deal. I have to have itunes because I have to back up my music onto something.

So, which version of Ubuntu is best with itunes (i have ubuntu 9.10) and has anyone used a guide that is proven to work recently? If their easer method of getting my music onto my computer, im open to that as well.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: ITunes 10 Not Working Under Wine?

Dec 28, 2010

I got the XP 32 bit newest version of iTunes from the iTunes website. I got the newest version of Wine from the Ubuntu Software Center. I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10

So when I install iTunes it seems to work because it goes through the whole install process. But when I click the iTunes icon to launch it I Get a little box with this error message:

Apple Application Support was not found

Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again.

Error 2 (Windows error 2)

So what can I do to fix this? I already uninstalled then re installed iTunes like the message says to do but I still keep getting the same error.

General :: Install/Uninstall ITunes With WINE

Sep 1, 2010

I just installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my husband's laptop. He insists that I install iTunes. Wine comes with the 10.04 release. I downloaded iTunes and it appeared to install ok. It said it was successful. However, immediately upon the 'installation successful' notification, another window popped up that said, "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126).

Whenever I try to open iTunes, this error message pops up. I used the WINE uninstall option for iTunes, however, the window pops up giving the option to either repair or uninstall, and when I click uninstall it appears to go through the process and even says it did - only to discover the fine print telling me that it "installed" the program sucessfully. This is very frustrating. I cannot seem to get the program to uninstall.

I found a thread that said to delete the files manually, but I don't know how to do this. I need to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it and make it work.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Running ITunes Using WINE For Home Sharing?

May 30, 2011

Im considering buying a 2nd gen apple tv and using home sharing to load movies onto it from my computer. Im running Ubuntu 11.4 and using the latest version of Wine to use iTunes 10. iTunes runs decently fine w/ a couple of small bugs (screen turns temporarily black, laggy, etc.) so im okay with that. The real problem is that my music isnt playing at all. I mean i can load it onto itunes but i cant listen to it. Combine that with the lag and it can get a little irritating.even with the inability of listening to music and the lag in the program, would i be able to stream content to my aTV w/out any bugs or no. I dont want to watch or listen to any of that content on my computer, just on my aTV but I am wondering if this inability would affect the playback on the apple tv. I dont even want to sync any ipods or anything like that, just sync the aTV (if even needed) for setup and use home sharing to listen to music, watch movies and tv shows, etc. on my apple tv w/out any frame rate drops or hitches or anything like that.

Ubuntu :: 9.10 Does Not Recognize IPod Touch?

Jul 24, 2010

I recently installed Ubuntu after xp went off its last leg and couldn't start up (I deleted all previous files in the installation). It's a very good program and I have no problem installing new programs

The problem is that it will not recognize any iPod connected to it. ( not only mine but family as well)

Now when I say it doesn't recognize, I mean that programs like Banshee, Rhythmbox, and Hipo fail to recognize that an iPod is connected but my iPod can charge perfectly fine so I know that it isn't an issue with the cord.
