I'm trying to connect with my server via telnet, but when i sent the command (telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Port) doesn't works and shows then follow error: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused, It happens with any port. Is strange but my telnet services works (telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx), In addition, i tried with firewall enabled and disabled and the problem still happens. My centOS run on virtualbox.

note: mssql is running on windows, and user and password is same "sa".
I am looking into setting up replication in a production environment but currently this is on two test machines. I am following the documentation at [URL] but I am unable to get past "16.1.1.10 Setting the Master Configuration on the Slave". When I do the CHANGE MASTER TO I am getting a syntax error for some reason. What am I doing wrong? These servers run "CentOS release 5.5 (Final)" and "MySQL 5.0.77-log Source distribution" installed via yum. The only changes from default are that I created a single database on the master before doing the table lock and dump, then everything else has been done exactly to what the documentation states, but is still failing.
The option skip-networking is not in the config file on either server and neither one runs SELinux or any firewall.

I installed mysql mysql-server php-mysql perl-DBD-mysql libdbi-dbd-mysql via "yum install -y" on a server running CentOS 5.3 X86_64 The install completes successful with no errors, but once I start mysqld via "chkconfig --level 35 mysqld on" ; "service mysqld start" There are no errors in /var/log/mysqld.log netstat shows mysqld listening on 3306 and localhost is in /etc/hosts

View 3 Replies View RelatedI setup mysql v5 on centos, follow all the instruction i was able to google for to enable remote access, I am able to log in to -h localhost and -h (external IP address) from same server, I am able to telnet to 3306 using localhost and external ip address, BUT when I try to connect from deferent server i get host unreachable error H3000 (113) and telnet also is not able to connect via port 3306 I covered all the bases but stii no luck. same setup works for slackware no problem and there is no issue with client.

I'm currently in the last steps of migrating a CentOS mailserver to the x64 version.However, under the old 32 bit version, I was using XRDP to access the Centos box from my Windows boxes.However I can't seem to find the XRDP package in the standard repos so this is prompting me to look at possible alternatives (XRDP was incompatible with my windows 7 box anyway soI had to RDP to another server of ours running 2003 to RDP into the mailserver which was far from ideal).Basically, I'd like to be able to seamlessly access the Centos box with a standard RDP client.
I know VNC Server/Clients would be an option but RDP gives me the freedom of any windows box being able to access the server on the same adress/port without installing software on any windows box I encounter.Are there any viable alternatives to XRDP ?There's no "add-on" to VNC server that could enable it to accept RDP connections ?

Peter Anvin' and nothing else. The installation splash screen never appears. As a test, I downloaded the first of 7 iso files for the 32-bit version of Centos 5.5 and pointed the CD/DVD drive to that iso. In that case, the installation starts as expected. I have installed on a remote server phpmyadmin 3.3.1 and mysql 5.1.46 on a centos 5.4 OS.
Any newly created user with phamyadmin is unable to login both from mysql command line (from localhost) and phpmyadmin (localhost and remotely).
No prob when the user is created with mysql command line (from localhost). All of the users created with phpmyadmin, are not "visible" recognized from the show user command via the mysql command line. The setting I used when I create any user was the same as the ones with the mysql command line creation.
The error message I get when accessing from mysql command line (from localhost) is the following: "Access denied for user ... @localhost (using password: yes)"
