Our server is a x86_64 centos 5.5 computer. we installed samba3x-3.5.4-0.70.el5_6.1.x86_64.Samba seems work fine, we don't notice any problem in using it. But in the workstation log file, there are a lot of error messages like:

It's been awhile since I posted anything which is a good sign my install has been working well and I have been able to handle most everything. However, I'm not able to handle this issue. I recently installed F11 and everything went well. But, when trying to see my other computers on the local network, I cannot. I receive this error message: Unable to mount location Failed to receive shared list from server. I understand the message as it is obvious, but do not know how to fix it.
Is there any way to do remote desktop from Mac (Snow Leopard) to Centos 5.5?I have turned on remote desktop in Centos and got the address ([url].....) to access remotely. Then I installed vnc-Viewer in my Mac. Put the address like (mypcname.com:0) then clicked connect. I get error message "Failed to connect: Operation timed out (60)".My Mac and Cenotos is in the same network.
I'm a student building a Domain Controller for my school as a small project. Using Ubuntu 10.04 with Samba. The problem I am having is that when I input: net rpc rights grant "studentdomainjpiihsDomain Admins" SeMachineAccountPrivilege SePrintOperatorPrivilege SeAddUsersPrivilege SeDiskOperatorPrivilege SeRemoteShutdownPrivilege
It says: Failed to grant privleges for studentdomainjpiihsDomain Admins (NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED) I'm using the documentation from here: [URL]
I tried to install php from source file on centos server and i got the error as # ./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/packages/apache/bin/apxs --with-mysql --prefix=/usr/local/packages/apache/php --enable-force-cgi-redirect --disable-cgi --with-zlib --with-gettext --with-gdbm

I am recently getting a very weird error on my Webmin. The result of this problem I suspect is I am no longer able to log into my Maia Mailguard which is my Spam Viewer.

I am a newbie trying to install XMLSec on my server. I have CentOS 5 with OpenSSL 0.9.8b. I downloaded xmlsec1-1.0.3-1.i386.rpm from [URL]. While doing rpm -Uvh xmlsec1-1.0.3-1.i386.rpm I get the following error message.
error: Failed dependencies: libcrypto.so.4 is needed by xmlsec1-1.0.3-1.i386 libxml2.so.2 is needed by xmlsec1-1.0.3-1.i386 libxslt.so.1 is needed by xmlsec1-1.0.3-1.i386
I also downloaded RPM's for libxml2 and libxslt from ftp://xmlsoft.org/libxslt/ but each package give further errors rpm -Uvh libxml2-2.7.3-1.x86_64.rpm warning: libxml2-2.7.3-1.x86_64.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID de95bc1f error: Failed dependencies: libxml2 = 2.6.26 is needed by (installed) libxml2-python-2.6.26-188.8.131.52.x86_64
When I send mail via Evoultion it does seem to send ok but still the following error message comes up: Error while sending message. Failed to append to : Unknown error Appending to local 'Sent' folder instead. Not sure what's up with that but thought I would mention it.

My fedora 14 has OpenSSH_5.5p1, OpenSSL 1.0.0a-fips 1 Jun 2010 running. I am able to use putty to ssh to my fedora. I installed NXSERVER - Version 3.2.0-74-SVN OS (GPL, using backend: 3.3.0) but when i used nxclient to connect to the server i always got 'session x' failed.
(I'm probably going to have my forum account revoked due to excessive usage ) I'm setting a VPN connection on openSUSE 11.2. Using the networking icon on the tray I add a PPTP connection, set it up but I receive a message 'VPN connection failed'. Googling it up I tried changing a setting called 'refuse-eap' to 'yes' but it doesn't seem to work. Here's the result from the log file:
10.04 new isnstall from cd goes for a minute then I get this error message: old p3 800 machine, will this distro work on an old machine like this:

I'm a LINUX NOOOOOOOOOB!!I really want to install Linux openSUSE, I'm MICROSOFT/WINDOWS HATER since 1 month now!! PS: Wine can't start my favorite Programs like Project64 a N64 Emulator. Firstly I am new to red5 and not very strong when it comes to linux. I have had installed red5 on my dedicated server and going by the http://myIP:5080/installer demos it is all working fine. My problem is I cannot get it to work with my software being flashchat. I am not sure if it comes from me using the incorrect RTMP url and if so after trying about 20 or more ways of typing it in I always get the same error message "Connection Failed' or "Connection Closed" not to sure what is meant by Closed as to whether it's working but can't get in or what ever. I am after someone who can get this to work for me please and I am willing to pay for that service once it is working.
I have installed vnc-server on my CentOS 5.6 virtual machine. I can connect to it with a java web browser so it seems to be working. However, I get the following error message when I start, stop or restart the vnc-server process. Quote: Starting VNC server: 1:ken xauth: timeout in locking authority file /root/.xauthkk661q
I just having to do a fresh install and get the following message to close after setting up partitions and on clicking write to disk:
Failed to mount "524M Volume" Method "Mount" with signature "ssas" on interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" doesn't exist.
Only option under message is close button. I'm using Fedora 14 xfce 32bit live CD. The install seems to carry on normally until done but then when I check the partitions I've setup I seem to only have the origonal uneditted default partitions.
Connect debounce failed port 3 disabled. i get this in the terminal (alt+f1) every time i log on. i like this terminal better than the standard one and i want the error message to stop appearing every time i try to type something.
I was trying to install ubuntu 9.10 as a dual boot system with windows and I recieved this error message: The Grub package failed to install into /target/. Without the Grub boot loader, the installed system will not boot
This Error comes up after 94% of the install. I also cannot seem to get the side by side install option to work (sometimes this option appears sometimes it does not) I am not sure but I beleive seome of the install files have been placed on the hard drive because I only get the option now to install on the hard drive and totally wipe clean or the emptiest hard drive. So how would I get the possible Ubuntu install off the Hard drive. I have used this CD to Install before it has no scratches therefore should work. Also If I have Win Xp on a Raid 0 will the Ubuntu 9.10 install ?
I'm trying to install CentOS 5.5 on an old Pentium 4 desktop PC I have, which is not being used for much other than being a MTA, and I want to migrate this functionality onto the CentOS platform for stability (Windows is a perpetual nightmare. I partitioned a spare 20GB to experiment with, and I want to install CentOS into here to play around with first so I can move my files around between Windows and CentOS, until I'm happy all of the stuff is gone, then I can scrub the Windows partition and claim the space for CentOS.
So, I've downloaded and burned the DVD and tried to install. I start the install with no args from the main install menu, and the process goes through some probing and then comes up with the "Welcome to CentOS" menu. I go through this, and then it tries to start X Server. It fails, and falls back to text mode. I get the "Welcome to CentOS" screen again, and then proceed through it. I set my keyboard layout to UK, then this message comes up at the bottom of the screen:
"_X11TransSocketINETConnect() can't get address for localhost:6001: Temporary failure in name resolution"
then on the next line: "Cannot open display :1" If I force the install to text, by typing "linux text" at the first menu, I get about the same way through, but the install just hangs doing nothing, and no disc access to the install disc.
I got a problem with my CentOS server. Somebody told me OpenVPN Requires different changes inside my firewall settings. That could be the problem why openvpn wont load..I receive this error on my CentOS panel when im trying to connect into the centos openvpn (with my winxp pc):
