Im hooking up my cube (lol) i already got the image for the top using compiz, wich i dont like because the image is a see thru. but whatever...what i want now is to be able to set the same or another image for the bottom of the cube, is that possible?
This is a small screen shot of my problem: I've changed the default icon for eclipse but this problem existed before I've done that. I'm using AWN Dock. How I can get rid of it?
i'm using a 64 bit system. i'm running cube deformation with cylinder.i am unable to make my cube caps transparent.i've deleted the original cap settings.i have also attempted to log out and in again to see if it would change.also.....my mouse is not changing to it's new pointer when i'm active in compiz.when compiz is off my mouse change is set, when it is on it stays as the white pointer unless i'm on firefox.
I usually use the default KDE desktop with a few changes. I deleted the bar the bottom of screen. I can't get those setting right. There's no undo function. I was able to recreate some things. I can't get the icons into right position. Also, I can't get the display for all programs or get the right wigits running . I need someone to walk me through it. Else, I'll just reinstall suse(11.3)
Anyone know why each time I boot up the machine the cube background image goes away and the background colour is left. This image i am placing is in Apparency/Skydome
So about an hour ago I put my computer on standby. For whatever reason I couldn't bring it back so I restarted it. It works fine except now Ubuntu has pushed my display down. This means that the bottom of my tool-bar on the bottom of the screen is cut off, and there's a black bar on the top. I'm using a T.V. screen so there is no way I can manually adjust it. I also plugged my desktop back into an old monitor and it was off-center downward too.
When I plug in my second monitor the 3D cube disappears and I only have the desktop wall thing with a rectangle box from which to select which desktop I want to go to.
I have enabled multi monitor setting in Compiz, tried both one big cube and two separate cube settings but none work.
I downloaded and installed compiz, and edited settings in simple compizconfig manager. The 3D effect of desktop is assigned ' none '. But when I try to rotate the cube, it's a cylinder. I rechecked the settings, but is still set to ' none '.
I have Ubuntu 11.04 and I am running it on Ubuntu classic due to not caring for Unity very much. I have an Acer Aspire 5739 and a Nvidia GEForce GT 130M graphics card. Is there any way to have a 3D desktop cube again?
I have read many posts on here and else where and still have not managed to get it working. (I am fairly new to Linux btw so just try to keep that in mind when replying)
I've recently enabled the fun stuff with compiz but I've run into a sort of problem... I want 9 desktops in a 3x3 grid (yeah, weird I know) but if I'm using the cube I can only rotate left and right... which is pretty weak sauce. Is there any way to (preferred) have desktops on the top and bottom of the cube and be able to bind a key combo to rotate up and down (ctrl-alt-up/down)? I *could* put 9 desktops in a row, but I really don't like that solution - it takes too many flips to make it from one desktop to another.
Compiz is all full of beautiful (especially burning the windows on close)
I have installed Lucid on my G4 Cube and it works fine except that I only get a video signal on the VGA connector. I would like to use my 15" Apple Studio LCD, but cannot get a signal on the ADC connector. If I boot the the original OS 9 CD, it works, so I don't think it is a hardware problem. I have tried creating an xorg.conf file with many different setting - still no signal to the LCD.
i have installed Compiz and can get everything working fine there is no errors or such but i cant spin the cube manually with the mouse (like free looking) when i press "Alt-Ctrl-mouse button 1" .
im guesing there is an option that im missing to do it, but for the life of me i cant do it. when i press "Alt-Ctrl-mouse button 1" it zooms out like i want it to but no manual movement
it will spin to the next workspace if move a window or mouse to the edge of the screen , but i want to be able to free look at the cube.
Upgraded to 10.10 yesterday, something I noticed is that I cannot enable 3D feature with cube? Loaded all of Compiz and drivers, downloaded latest nvidia, but option still "greyed" out. Worked fine with 10.04..
I use the hotkey ctrl+alt+left click in Blender to zoom object... So I didn't want Compiz to use the same key to move around the cube. I changed a setting in window move, and either the old or the new key works. New is alt+1 but it does nothing, same with ctrl+alt+left click. Also, I want the move around hotkey to be something like super+m or ctrl+m etc.
i have every effect working perfectly on gnome on my acer a110 netbook but cube seems to be proving difficult. Every time i drag a window along it seems to unfold not spin the cube.
Also how can i zoom out to see the cube on my netbook? on the desktop version IIRC system> preferences > advanced desktop effects > desktop cube < but it aint on the netbook
I'm trying to get desktop cube in compiz to work. I can select it and create a key combination for it, but I can't get it to work. I tried creating new workspaces and making less but the cube never shows up.
1. how I can "roll up" a program window by using the mousewheel? At work we have SLED 10/KDE (Ubuntu/Gnome is "better"), and there I can do it that way. It would be nice if I could do it here at home, in Ubuntu 10.04, too.
2. in "Gutsy Gibbon", I could turn the Compiz cube with the mousewheel. Can this be done with the mousewheel in 10.04 too, and if so, how? I don't seem to find it in the CompizConfig Settings Manager (or I'm missing it, which wouldn't be so strange, considering the countless things one can change in Ubuntu).
I tried using ccsm to get the cube desktop working on ubuntu 10.04. After reading through many of the forums here on how to get the cube working I still could not find an answer for 10.04. Changed my settings with gconf-editor to disable Nautilus show desktop and a few other recommended setting and nothing worked. Also, for some reason, ccsm did not have the Wallpaper option (its supposed to be under utility), and I think it was necessary for the cube in some way.
I wanting to install the atlantis cube for compiz and having no luck installing it I have tried the steps of going into the terminal and obtaining the files through git but it cant find them I am a bit stuck on what to do next.
I've been playing around with the cube in CCSM and I've seen some videos on ..... that have windows XP on one side of the cube and on the other three sides, it still has Ubuntu. I was wondering how i would do that? If it makes a difference, I wanted to do that with Vista instead of XP.
I am a newbie and loving Ubuntu Lucid Lynx. I have my cube working great with all the associated effects yet after about 20 minutes or so, the cube options are all unchecked and I no longer have the cube. What could be causing this? Initially I thought it was only after reboot but I left the house today for 20 minutes and when I came back I had no box and sure enough the cube options were unchecked.
