View 1 RepliesI've had this problem on a few flash games (a couple of EA's sports management games on Facebook, and the Pokemon Dream World.) When I first use them everything's fine, but as I continue coming back to them, they seem to run a little slower each time. Ultimately in the case of the former two it got so bad that they were unusual.
Why is this happening? If they were slow from the start I could understood, but what could be making them go wrong on repeated plays?
I'm on 32 bit Kubuntu Lucid, firefox is my browser, and it's the official flash plugin.
When i go onto funorb and click the game i want nothing happens. I'm guessing it's a Java thing but I've downloaded JavaCC and Java SUN and neither of them work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay so I have a few questions on how to get to play games on Ubuntu.
I was wondering how to play downloaded games for windows to work with Ubuntu. I have play on Linux but I need to know how to mount to an iso and go from there. It has been pretty frustrating on how to get things to work; also I do not have a disk drive.
I used to be able to play King Games when I used Internet Explorer 7.When I log on now it states that I can't play using my current Ubuntu. Is there any way this can be rectified? I've looked at a similar thread but I don't understand it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLast few years (as long as I use linux) I tried several ubuntu/debian installations, on 6-7 different computers (desktops/laptops)What a notice in common on all these installations is that flash videos and games run REALLY bad.Is this a common problem for all debian based distros or I am doing something wrong? I din't give much attention in past (even if tried some repeating flashplayer installations) but last month I'm building a flash arcade site and this flash player problem become a real pain.

View 9 Replies View RelatedBrowsing here and there I finally succeeded (well almost) in setting up my home-made router/firewall/filer/nameityougotit server. Everything seems to work (using ethernet or wireless connections) but I still have some questions:
WAN: eth0
LAN: eth1 and wlan0 are bridged (br0) together
Question 1 I am unable to play games using UDP between wlan and eth1 although it works when both stations are connected to eth1
Question 2 I used ufw to help me setup IPTables but I am not really happy with this tools. Since my network configuration must be quite common, point me to a regular IPtable setup script or give me the rules I should add?
there not sure who to ask on this one. When I upgraded to 11.04 games like Postal 2 and Lugaru do not play right anymore. I find them very choppy and the game sometimes just stops working. Now when I was using 10.10 the games were working fine. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use playonlinux to install the games, so I don't install them manually. Also I think it might have something to do with the graphics settings I did when it told me to install a version of Wine to make the game work. I have no idea how many gigabyte or megabyte my graphics card is so I selected the highest number.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo some flash games don't seem to play nice with Ubuntu. Some do. I have no problem playing Cursed Treasure, but when I try to play, say, Learn To Fly, the opening page loads, but then when I click the "play" link, it does nothing.
Also, using the latest release of Ubuntu.
im planning to migrate from windows to OpenSUSE. One thing i cant leave from windows is, its support for high end games. I did some research, we can use Wine application in Linux. Im wondering, if i install a game (for example) FIFA 11, will it run smoothly like i run it on Windows 7? Does it depend on our hardware (graphic card, processor, memory)?

Except that i can't look video or play games cuz it lags too much...which is normal. When I install the packages for my graphic card (xserver-xorg-video-radeon, xserver-xorg-video-ati et radeontool), I can play games, watch videos, but I notice this: when my laptop boot, just before the login screen, I get messy graphic problems...Looks like a broken old tv. View 1 Replies View RelatedSince I have upgraded to KDE 4.5 I can't play games (native or wine) without disabling composite before start playing. When I start a game its window begins to shiver (to tremble or to shake... not sure) and so I have to disable composite first and then relaunch the game.I never had to do this in KDE 4.4.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my hands on an MSI E7235-295US and slapped Ubuntu 9.10 on it. So far everything's worked great, but I am beginning to get a bit concerned about my sound quality. The laptop itself has 5 speakers + subwoofer so I should be getting 5.1 sound, if I understand things correctly (the newegg link should provide more details) and when I play anything (music, flash, videos, games, etc...) the sound comes out 'muffled'. Almost as if it is in a concert hall, maybe. I initially wondered if the problem is related to the 5 speakers and if the sound is initially only setup for two. If that is the case, nothing I've done has seemed to made any real difference. I've tried changing the master/pci channels, but it only hides it a little, and doesn't solve the problem.
This seemed to be on the right track, but the laptop is still really new and not listed in the alsa file.

When I play some fullscreen games such as Trackballs, the bottom part of the game gets "chopped off". If I choose not to play in fullscreen (via the game options), I can see the whole game.
I'm guessing this could be a bug in the nvidia graphics driver?
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit with the latest nvidia driver. I know it's a "closed source" driver, but it was the only one I was offered to install.
Ideally, I would be able to have Jack (for supercollider) coexisting happily with other apps that use the audio system, specifically --
Rhythmbox (yes, there are other players but this one interfaces cleanly with my iPod) Oracle virtualbox (which I use for NaturallySpeaking)
The typical recommendation around the web is to configure ALSA to pipe its audio through Jack, which I tried according to [URL]. With that .asoundrc, I could choose ALSA as the driver for VLC and it output okay. But I'm not sure how to tell rhythm box to use ALSA instead of pulse audio. Worse, when I changed my virtual machine's configuration for ALSA (instead of the default pulse audio), the audio connection died -- the alsa ports disappeared from qjackctl's Connections window, and NaturallySpeaking didn't pick up any audio. This is fairly serious because I depend on dictation software to deal with an RSI (dictating English, not code of course) and I'd rather not have to stop Jack just to dictate something.
Rhythm box and virtual box both work perfectly with pulse audio connecting directly to the hardware. In the past, I've gotten pulse audio to route through Jack but it's dicey -- xruns are common and sometimes the audio gets choppy.
What next? I suppose getting the ALSA configuration right is the best thing, but early tests were not exactly encouraging.
(edit) PS I'm using virtualbox for DNS because wine failed me. Completely Plus wine's jack option for audio IO did not work with NS at all. NS works really well in virtualbox so I'm keeping that one.
