Software :: Press And Hold For Right Click On Tablet ?

I have a tablet computer running 10.04 and I was wondering if there is a way under Linux to have click and hold be a right click like it is under Windows Xp/Vista/7 this is really the last piece of functionality I am missing on the system under Linux. I can think of a lot of different situations when being able to "autoclick" would be really useful. By autoclick, I mean that I want to be able to hold down the left-click button and have it rapidly clickity clickity clickity as fast as the processor can handle.
One example is games where I have a semi-automatic weapon and I have to hammer the mouse button with my finger. It would be nicer to reduce the wear and tear on my trackpad.

I recently purchased a Wacom Bamboo Pen Only (CTL-460). It's a great device and in Fedora 15 (x86_64) it worked out-of-the-box like a charm!
I don't miss the rubber or the extra keys on the tablet. But I'm having quite some trouble, using the pen as a mouse replacement in all day use. The following is with respect to usage outside GIMP and Inkscape (i.e. Firefox, Nautilus etc). What I would really like to have, is:
+ scrolling by pressing the "first button" and simply _moving_ the pen. Just like with my Thinkpad-Trackpoint: Here I press the middle key and can then scroll just by controlling the Trackpoint. Would already be cool, if I could scroll by pressing the "first button" and touching the tablet. A short tap while pressing the "first button" should still be a "middle click"!

Found a solution for "jamming at the edge of the screen". Just resized the "area" a bit (smaller) with xsetwacom...

I m on ubuntu 10.04 and have a Trust tb 4200 tablet.. and having problems with my trust tablet runing on ubuntu.. i pluged in the tablet and to my amaze it started working right away until i pressed the pen on the tablet.. i cant seem to move the mouse curser anymore unless i touch the pen on the tablet. (wich acts as a click) so i thought that i may be missing the drivers.. i checked thes forum and there was a post to install the aptek drivers which i did (but still worked the same) and i found out thet there was no 10-aiptek.fdi (in "/etc/hal/fdi/policy/") so i created one and copied one from a post.. in [url]...3&postcount=50 but still cant move the courser without touching.. its like if it did no diference at all.. i also changed the values in the 10-aiptek.fdi with no changes.. the size of the tablet is just the size of the screen so i am using the full tablet.. and no buttons work...
I think the drivers are not workin.. in the synaptic it shows as intalled...

I have noticed they sell digital writing tablets that have the ability to show the pen strokes both on the tablet's display and on the computer's monitor at the same time, and I think they are called LCD digital tablets and they serve as both a second computer monitor AND a writing tablet combined in one, such as the Wacom Cintiq, and must be connected both by USB as well as with a VGA/DVI port, and you have the ability to open up a drawing application directly from the tablet such as Paint where you can draw or write on the tablet's display. And you can see what you are writing on the tablet's display. Then you save the results to a JPEG file, for example.
But I do not want a digtal tablet quite as elaborate as that. I am looking for something similar to the credit card terminals used in stores where you can sign your name directly on the display after swiping your credit card, and you can see what you are writing as you write. Then your signature shows up on a paper receipt later. Do they make digital tablets like that for the home user, and if they do, would they have to hook up to the VGA/DVI port on your video card? What are they called and where can I get one?
I've searched several online stores but they do not say if you can see what you are writing on the tablet's display. I already have a Wacom tablet in Linux but you can not see what you are writing on the tablet. I have to keep looking up at my computer's monitor to see what I am writing and proficiency is reduced as a result. And again, I do not want a tablet as elaborate as I described in my first paragraph. I want something simplier, such as the type used at a credit card terminal.

Upgraded to 11.04 and my graphical tablet is recognized no longer Any idea how can I set it up? Wizardpen is not working, the ppa on my repository says something about "Natty" instead of "Maverick" (As than before)
If I type lsusb on my terminal then this line appears:
Code:
Which is completely false because the Genius MousePen 5x4 Tablet is this one
And I have the Genius Easypen i405, which is this one

I want to get this pen tablet (not tablet computer) to work (for drawing in kolorpaint / krita / gimp etc)
Omnipen OP-906 (ancient mid-90's device). It came with floppy with drivers for Windows 3.11 and old Mac Plugs into ttyS0 (com1. It has "tablet mode" and "mouse mode". It is meant to always start in "tablet mode", but if I give it a small power interruption (take out the AC plug from the wall halfway and quickly plug it back in), it sometimes kicks into "mouse mode". The original driver is supposed to be able to switch the modes

I'm randomly getting 'Continue to wait; or press S to skip mounting or M for manual recovery...' or something like that at boot ((it flashes very quickly)- If I don't press anything, I'm prompted for my password (I configured it to login with password) and the desktop loads...
I'm using Ultimate Edition 2.6.1 -> Ultimate Edition Home
I was using my 1TB hdd to dual-boot linux, windows, and for storage...Yesterday, I imaged the linux partition, and restored it to an approximately 66GB partition I created on a 150GB hdd...Besides the 66GB partition, the rest of the 150GB hdd is 'unallocated space'... That's when the above message started...Below are screenshots of the fstab and partitions as they are now...

I try to configure mouse click interval since a single click is recognized as double click by doing it from KDE mouse configuration in system settings; but my attempt doesn't work even (I set the click interval to 2 sec, but doesn't change anything). What is the best way to do this in slackware?

I'm newish to the forum, but have been using ubuntu for the past few months.I recently upgraded from eeebuntu (a 9.04 derivative) to 10.04, and found that two finger tapping my touchpad has gone from middle click to right click, (and 3 fingers is now middle instead of right).
From what I've seen, this has been changed since 9.10, but I haven't been able to find a permanent solution yet. Most fixes have been from before and use hal, or other things that don't exist anymore. The one thing I've found does work is using xinput and the command
Code:
xinput set-prop "ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad" "Synaptics Tap Action" 2, 3, 0, 0, 1, 2, 3
But that has to be run every time I start up, and it occasionally reverts while I'm using the computer. I've tried making a script that runs at startup, but neither adding it to the list of startup programs, or autostart folder has worked, but running the script file manually does work. I'm a bit at wits end with this, it's the only issue I've had with 10.04, and I've spent many many hours trying to get it to work (I've also tried gsynaptics and the newer version whose name escapes me right now). Hopefully there's a permanent fix out there.

when i click my mouse on something, it sometimes registers as two clicks. it doesn't happen all the time, but frequently enough to be annoying. for example, when i click a videos video to pause it, it often opens into fullscreen (which you normally click twice to do). also, in the url bar of chromium, i can't select the entire url by clicking. i now need to use ctrl+a. that's also because when i try to select the url, the highlight randomly disappears.
if i have multiple windows open, my click on the first "x" of the top-most window also closes the next window. i'm on linux mint 10. it's not really important, but it drives me crazy sometimes when my mouse doesn't work the way i want it to.

About a week ago I installed some updates. What they were I don't remember. After I did that my mouse started acting up. Now about half the time when I single click it registers as a double click. Also when I click and drag to select text anywhere it'll randomly do another click screwing up that process.
So far I think the problem is when I press the left mouse button it registers the left click and then when I release, it randomly registers another left click.
The mouse itself works fine if I take it to another PC that's using windows.
OS: Ubuntu 9.10 64bit

If I normally click the Trash icon either in Kmail or in Evolution more than one mail gets deleted in a sequential order! I have to press the click button extremely light to avoid this problem. I have confirmed this problem is not only with the Email clients but even with most other normal applications too. I have changed my mouse twice but the problem persists. Both were USB mice. After I adjust my slackware and rebooted I saw a strange "rectangle" on my desktop. Please, look at the screenshots below and tell me how I should solve this problem.
I can't move it. Right-click menu on a rectangle coincides with a right-click on desktop. It does not prevent, but very annoying.

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS has no immediately apparent way that I can see for changing the mouse behavior from the default double-click to single-click. There appears to be some type of kludgy, but unsatisfactory fix for this unwanted behavior in the Accessibility-option, under Mouse-Preferences.

I use another kernel on my eeepc which is specially adjusted for the Hardware Needs of this little machine.
The source of this kernel is: [url]
But since today I have the problem that the updater would like to update the vanilla kernel from the Fedora Repos.
Even though there aren't any versions of this vanilla kernel already installed. So I don't know what causes this mistake and would like to prevent this kernel from auto-updating.

...and the answer isn't "use LTS". Maybe the next LTS whenever that comes out (12.whatever?), but we needed 10.10 for the ATI drivers. Anyway, 11.04 has hit and since I'm dealing with office machines and software developers who expect a stable environment, I want to hold back 10.10 as long as possible (or at least "as long as I need to test things"), both on desktop and server installs. I'm looking at 130+ other updates in Update Managar today and when I hit the install updates button I had to fumble for the cancel button because it went to the dist-upgrade screen. How can I tell what packages will trigger the Ubuntu upgrade so I can freeze them?

I have seen a few options out there but, has anyone know of a real good piece of software that you can use a internal voice modem in place of a on hold music device? I think it's out there but I haven't found a decent one. I have seen them for answering machines and such, but an on hold would be cool.

I created a ram disk with this command: sudo mount -t tmpfs -o size=2048M,nr_inodes=500k,mode=777 tmpfs /var/cache/apt-build/build When I run apt-build, I got an error message that the disk is full (unable to copy file or something). But no disk was full when I checked with 'df'.
we know the maximum of files created from the nr_inodes number? Or is there any other option that determines the max number of files created?

I'm trying to install wine1.3 but I don't want the (recommended) package ttf-mscorefonts-installer.In previous releases, I can run this to 'hold' the package and prevent it's installation:
Code:
echo ttf-mscorefonts-installer hold | sudo dpkg --set-selections.However, this command doesn't prevent ttf-mscorefonts-installer from being installed along with wine1.3 in maverick.[code]....
it's just that dpkg isn't picking it up.What is going on here, and how can I place a package on permanent hold?
Note: I ended up installing wine1.3 by running:
Code:
sudo aptitude install wine1.3 ttf-mscorefonts-installer= but I don't believe that the package is actually on permanent hold.
