View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 2009 Mac Pro with two CPUs and 8 GB of memory which is totally overpowered for Mac OS X. I am also in the process of slowly moving away from Mac OS X as my main platform.Since the Mac Pro is really new and nice I have finally decided to use it for another platform. I am familiar with Linux and SUSE Linux.Ultimately I want to run some version of SUSE Linux (recommend one, doesn't have to be free as in no money) and Xen.

View 7 Replies View RelatedJust given a laptop with xp installed. I want to dualboot BUT my hd defragger shows bits of the xp os spread out over the entire drive so I can't partition without making xp corrupted. Is there any way to move the xp bits as to make a clean space on the hd to partition for ubuntu. I wouldn't mind wiping the drive and reinstalling xp to get a clean space to partition but I hate the time wasted for all the windows updates.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI will be migrating SLES-10-SP2 operating system to new hard drives. I will be cloning most of the file systems. I had downloaded openSeSU-11-3-gnome Live CD and burned an ISO image. I want to install new drives in the PC and use the Live CD to create partitions to use in a RAID system. I have seen on the web that the Live CD can be used to install the OS on a machine but I did not see any option that just give the ability to use YAST to partition and create RAID system. Thus my question is how can I use the Live CD just to prepare the disk without installing the OS?

View 9 Replies View Relatedis there a resource/material that can simulate a RHEL on your personal machine so that one can practice for RH302 exam accurately? I am looking to practice sample questions with some kind of simulation environment where the scenario is similar to the real-time scenario that we can expect in the exam. For instance, the system is already broken with what is mentioned in the question so that I can focus only on solving the problem rather than breaking it first. I am looking for something specific to RHCE exam preparation/practice rather than using a tool like trouble-maker.

I have just bought a new DELL Studio 1555 laptop which has already Windows Vista- home edition in it,however I would like to install Red Hat Linux or Fedora on this laptop which can also support Oracle 10g.

I try to install 10.04 from CD Rom. At the prepare partitions step, no devices appear. Some details: - I already check the md5sum of the CD.- GParted see it and I'm able to partition it. But always nothing detected with the prepare step.- Intel P4 with 80 GB with 1GB of ram
- No windows already installed on the machine
I have a PC with Windows 2000 Pro installed in an NTFS partition of 60GB. My rest hard disk (500GB) is empty, no partition at all. When I run Ubuntu 10.04 installation after step number 3 I get a weird step number 4 showing prepare partitions with an empty array and no available command button at the bottom! So I can not create any partition... Also in step 4 I never see the "prepare disk space" menu. If I use a 9.04 Ubuntu CD and I try to install I get every menu fine as expected. I even tried the 10.04 CD to another PC with Windows XP PRO and the installer worked as expected for partitions.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using GIMP's 'save for the web' tool to reduce the file sizes of images.
I now have a directory with about 50 images. I'd like to avoid processing them all by hand.
I have a (very) basic knowledge of programming, and I'm comfortable with the commandline. I don't mind doing some homework on how to use new tools.
All I'm really concerned with here is reducing the file sizes of the images I have.
What possible pathways are there for me to prepare large amounts of images for the web?
I started to prepare myself to RHCSA certificate from RedHat. In order to get this cert I have to pass exam EX200.THe best way to prepare would be to take part in courses RH124 and RH135 but I don't have cash for this and that's why I decided to prepare by myself.I downloaded ebook and have some experience in linux administration :McGraw.Hill.RHCE.Red.Hat.Certified.Engineer.Linux.Study.Guide.Exam.RH302.5th.Edition.Jun.2007Do you think that's enough to pass this EX200 exam ?Maybe someone have torrents to RH124 and RH135 courses ?
