I am trying to install verlog software for my electronics programming. I downloaded its tar.gz file and started installing it. everything was file till configure & make but while final installing using make install I got the following error as cannot create directory.

How to I access it, or aquire it, if I was misinformed. alternatively I was trying to build kicad cause I could not find an RPM for it. It reported that it needed wxwidgets which I was unable to install successfully. I do not know a whole lot about linux, but I am having problems with a circuit I am designing and tired of bread boarding everything. A fully functional schematic editor and analyzer at the low price of free is all I can afford right now.

I'm looking for electrical cad software similar to AutoCAD Electrical or PCSchematic Automation. I need something to do WIRING diagrams as apposed to circuit schematics like Egal. Electrical not Electronic. I'm talking about power distribution, fuses, relays, PLCs, motors, solenoids, switches, buttons, and cables. I am not talking about transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and printed circuit boards. Sorry to put such a fine point on it, but there are a lot of PC board design tools out there that use the word "electrical" in their description, but are not useful for diagramming the wiring connections in a machine.
I think an electrical cad program should have the following features in order of importance code...
Here is an example of the sort of thing, but wiring diagrams can represent an entire factory, documents with hundreds of pages.
I have an Encore Electronics 802.11g Wireless LAN Adapter installed on a secondary desktop. When I was running Windows XP the wireless signal was strong and did not disconnect. When I installed Ubuntu the wireless signal is weak and it will not stay connected. Would there be a driver for Ubuntu to work better?

Everytime I try to adjust my xorg.conf file it hangs at boot. Not really sure what exactly I'm doing with it.

i just installed a new wireless device from encore electronics(802.11g Wireless PCI Adapter ENLWI-G2) but it deadlocks openSUSE 11.2 when i start the networking module in YaST. It also deadlocks(Freezes up) when i tried reinstalling suse. can someone help me, has anyone got this device to work? For some reason when I started installation it was trying to install 432 packages (Base has got about 80 or so packages). i can understand there might be some dependencies, but really that much? I kept going with the installation of 432 packages, but it finally failed on gtk2-immodule-xim-2.18.3-19.fc12.i686.rpm.I need just minimal install, so I can install LXDE later on by myself.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have been using Redhat/Fedora for 11 years. I don't understand why Fedora 11, can't even do a vga graphical install, when Windows can.
I tried many parameters, including xdriver=vesa, and it cannot used graphical install.
So, I tried text install, which I have done many times in the past.
However, F11 seems crippled, in that it will NOT do the same install achievable from a graphical install.
It will NOT allow the use of fdisk, and it will NOT allow any selection of any packages.
What is the point of this option?
Even after trying all of this, for a dual boot install, and F11 claims to have installed, there is no grub or equivalent, and the computer just boots windows, just like Fedora 11 did absolutely nothing.
What are the options now? Why is text install so crippled and incomplete? Why is standard VGA mode so hard?

I have a Western Digital Pasport 320 GB hard drive. I wanted to create a live installation on it like a USB stick. I wanted it to serve as a portable OS that I could use to boot any other computer off of, and use it for diagnostics and anti-virus scanning on Windows based computers. The additional space is for my own personal use, kind of like having a mobile desktop where I have all of my documents in one place.What I need to know is how to set up Fedora 11 so that the hard drive will boot on most PCs regardless of their architecture. I also need to know what's a good Anti-virus to install onto it for the sake of fixing Windows hard drives.
Please keep in mind I'm a noob when it comes down to a lot of things, so if there's an antivirus I have to install manually, please included a step by step.

Originally I had Ubuntu running on my machine. I installed windows beta 7 with a working dual boot. Get everything working in grub again. I decided to give Fedora a try and wiped my Ubuntu partition and installed Fedora. Everythings all good...except the reconfiguration of grub has left out my Windows 7 partition (nothing out of the norm) I tried manually adding windows 7 to /boot/grub/menu.lst but it's not working, when I try to boot into Windows 7 i get a little flashing "_" for a really long time and nothing happens.

When I try to choose ext4 it says Fedora cannot be installed on a bootable drive, fix the problem. I don't see how to fix it...it does not say what to do or change.

My professor said that we need to install any Linux operating systems so I chose Fedora, but he said we need at least 16GB free of space to install it in our computer, sadly i only have 1GB space left remaining. I told him about it and he told me about installing Fedora in my flash drive that has space of 16GB. I really am interested in this course and want to understand all of this stuff so can anyone tell me the process to install Fedora into flash drive so I can boot it anywhere else other than home?
